Re:Redirects

I know about it, I've read it before. It's just that, why bother writing "Australian Singles Chart" when it's much easier to write the link to "ARIA Charts" before it? It's not imperative to avoid redirects, I'm aware of that, but they irk me sometimes. Ss112 09:29, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

But why would someone create that? It's not called the Australian Singles Chart, that's just a convenient term because international readers don't really know what the ARIA Charts are. The capitals imply it's the official title of something. Even if that (regrettably) happened, couldn't someone just program a bot to change them all? I know that seems like a cop out, but it's possible. Ss112 09:41, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Dirty Dancer

Hi, Adabow. Sorry to have to tell you that I raised a question at T:TDYK about the notability of the Dirty Dancer single. You can respond here, if you like, since I've temporarily watchlisted this page, but I'd suggest that it might be more appropriate to do so at T:TDYK itself, to keep the discussion all in one place.  – OhioStandard (talk) 11:32, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Mimi

Hi Ada. Thanks for caring about the situation, but as you can see, all I have done is drop a small message. Again, I'll just as before, go ahead and do it all myself. Not like I've been waiting 4 months for 4 sections on an article. And the funny thing is, even when I ask for these "sources" he's collected, he doesn't even respond, even though he replied to Mags only hours later. Its not bad faith, but it simply isn't proper or fair. Its fine, I'll complete it on my own and give him credit for the little he's done. I truly don't want anymore conflicts on Wiki, so I'll just ignore it and finish it on my own. Thanks for your input Ada :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 07:02, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Re: Recent good articles

Good call; they were just renames and confused the bot. Of course, I thought I had coded for that (at least a clear enough case as this). I see the problem but cannot fix it right now and I have a busy few days coming up; if I haven't resolved https://jira.toolserver.org/browse/JARRY-21 in a week's time though, it would be great if you reminded me. lovestrong.

hello Adabow! If you have any free time on your hand, i would love if you could re-evaluate lovestrong. for me :D I've been working on the article for a while, and now that it's officially charted i think it might deserve an upgrade from it's rating. Lol Please let me know if this is a burden, I'll understand completely! :] Theuhohreo (talk) 19:10, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

as the pages creator, is their anything i can personally do to help 4 (Beyoncé Knowles album) be deleted faster? Theuhohreo (talk) 04:08, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Yes the video was so epic! By far, my favorite video out this year! Finally an artist that looks like she's trying! And the album cover has a timeless look to it, like it'll be around for ages! I can tell from now the entire album is gonna be very "african drums meet club synths"! :D Theuhohreo (talk) 04:15, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

btw, i forgot to thank you for re-evaluating lovestrong. for me! Thank you! :D Theuhohreo (talk) 04:15, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

I know this is a redundant contact, but I am contacting directly you because you are among the six editors who has edited Wikipedia talk:Record charts more than once in the last two weeks. The following templates are at issue at The Beatles:

Hellooo! I was wondering if your library had the book Whitney Houston by Ted Cox? I searched here, but they said they would have to import it from the US :O Also, I Am Sasha Fierce review is taking so long. You should check it out. Novice7 (talk) 04:48, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Hey Ada! I'm leaving Wikipedia for now and I might return after one year. Could you keep an eye on my GAs/FLs? I have nomed "Thank God I Found You" for a GA, so please keep an eye on that too. Oh, if possible, maybe "Just a Kiss" too?? Thanks for all your help. I'll miss you guys :) Regards, Novice7 (talk) 05:30, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

Question

Hi Adabow → Question: If a single has no official radio add date, does that mean its a promo single? The reason I'm asking bcause Jordin's new single was released to iTunes 2 weeks ago, but its still got no official radio add date. I'm starting to think its a promo. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 06:27, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Ok now I understand. Thanks! Ozurbanmusic (talk) 09:34, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh about time it is. Thanks again! Ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:24, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Is "1+1" a promo single or second single? I'm confused :/ Ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:15, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

I love it! much much better than "Run the World". According to Billboard, you get it for free on iTunes if you pre-order the album. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:23, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Same here. I seriously cannot wait to buy the album! :D Ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:38, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
No problem. Theres still more to do though. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 09:03, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi

I have been making a lot of edits to improve the Rihanna S&M article status, which is currently a C. I have made edits correcting errors and sentence structure/wording mistakes, adding lots of reliable sources to anything which wasn't sourced, as well as considerably expanding the live performance section about the live performances as well as the baggage that came with them (X Factor, Brits and BMA complaints). Jivesh has recommended you to review the article. I really want to improve this article. calvin999 (talk) 15:53, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, will do :) calvin999 (talk) 13:40, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
All in all on the article, I have: Improved the grammar and expanded the info at the top of the article, made sure all the citations I had done previously were placed after punctuation, considerably expanded the Live Performance section (it used to be about a line and a half, it is now about 9) all with sources, added an entire bit about European chart performance starting with where it charted best first and then going onto where it did not so well (which was still pretty good lol), added two more reviews about the song and separated the positive from negative into 2 paragraphs as it was a massive paragraph! My hand hurts so much now! calvin999 (talk) 15:01, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Andrew, you may join us here. Jivesh Talk2Me 06:09, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

You're wrong on WP:MOS

I'm requesting that you revert your removal of all of the italicization-sparks ('') over at The Huffington Post. MOS:ITALICS states that "Online magazines, newspapers, and news sites with original content should generally be italicized."

I would do it myself, but there are intermediate edits that make it hard. I'm betting you've got Find/Replace. I'm stuck in a web browser. 24.177.120.138 (talk) 04:22, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Re: 4

Just hiding the category so that User:Bovineboy2008 doesn't just remove it using HotCat. I follow many of his edits and he tends to do this when an album has not been officially released yet. QuasyBoy 05:55, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

I haven't actually, But if I do he is probably going to give the reason that the year category should only be added once the album is actually released. I have no problem with you undoing my edit, but I am just giving you a fair warning in case Bovine comes along. QuasyBoy 06:06, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Man Down Cover

This Man Down cover is not unofficial. It was released by Rihanna under Def Jam Label's name. You may check it for yourself.Syedwaheedhussain (talk) 07:14, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

I found it at VARIOUS sources, only then did I load it. I myself am a careful wikipedian. I research alot before I make any changes. The sources are: 1) Rihanna's own twitter page. THIS IS THE MAIN SOURCE. She revealed it on May 11, 2011. [2] 2) The next soure was this charts section for Europe (UltraTop).[3]

If you too make a search you will know that this is no fan cover. This is the official Man Down cover. See all these pages.

3) [4] 4) [5] 5) [6]

The tweet is by Rihanna's account. Didnt you see it? [7]

But I believe it was Rihanna who revealed the cover. Anyhow, if it's unreiable have it your way.Syedwaheedhussain (talk) 15:30, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Haha, don't worry, you have full access to my talk and user pages :D I know right!? I mean what's the world coming to? Soon they are going to start listing iTunes ranks and charts Lol. BTW, love the wine and cheese photo :) So I ask you now, what do you think of Beyonce at the moment? I still do not like any of the 4 from 4 :( (although I do appreciate the soul in "1+1", the aggression and confidence in "RTW" and, well the reggae in the other (can't remember the name lol) the new one is... eh. I expect better from Babyface.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 06:48, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
What can I say Ada, I completely agree. Her performances have been fucking amazing. I mean, juts for them and the merit of her talent, she should sell IMO. I can say that Britney shoul have been embarrassed for her BS at the Billboard Awards after B did her thing. Lip half a song with RiRi and have a pillow fight? Then lip the final chorus of "TTWE" and walk down a stage? I was so disappointed, an I love Brit. Beyonce I definitely one of the bet performers out there today, putting the likes of Rihanna to shame (did you see her on Today this week? Wow, total lame ass snoozefest lol). I truly love Bs older ballads!--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 07:03, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Omg, I hope CK doesn't read this lol, but I have always and probably always will hate Kesha. I just think she's utter... (You can do the math, don't wanna upset anyone) as for RiRi, uch, I never liked her, but her songs are usually good and catchy. Hahaha I can't believe you like that one, I can't not laugh at the "rum pupupum" part lol (I love "CKB"!). As for Brit, oh Ada, Ada, Ada, she can (not anymore so much) dance like hell and she can Def sing live (at least like I said before, she used to ). She had a really nice voice, but honestly who TF knows what she really is now :( she's become so lazy and unoriginal, Its very depressing! I'm still waiting for my Diva's return :D hopefully she won't even think of working with Dream and Tricky lol. And I actually love "BTW", its turning me into a real monster :) I like at least 10 songs (Judas is my fav) but hate "YAI"--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 07:34, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 May newsletter

We're half way through round 3 of the 2011 WikiCup. There are currently 32 remaining in the competition, but only 16 will progress to our penultimate round. Scotland Casliber (submissions), of pool D, is our overall leader with nearly 200 points, while pools A, B and C are led by Texas Racepacket (submissions), Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) and Saskatchewan Canada Hky (submissions) respectively. The score required to reach the next round is 35, though this will no doubt go up significantly as the round progresses. We have a good number of high scorers, but also a considerable number who are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. Also, an important note concerning nominations at featured article candidates: if you are nominating content for which you intend to claim WikiCup points, please make this clear in the nomination statement so that the FAC director and his delegates are aware of the fact.

A running total of claims can be seen here. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 23:20, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

GA Getty Trust

We have only a few remaining changes to make to the article, and I honestly do not see how the proposed changes could represent inadvertent close copying. The volunteer who usually checks these for me seems to be tied up. This leaves us with two options: 1) you can look the three proposed changes over for possible copyright problems and I will move them into article space or 2) you can move them into article space. Either way, I suggest we go forward, because I have no idea when I can get the changes reviewed by my friend. Thank you for your understanding. Racepacket (talk) 02:35, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
