Welcome back

Just wanted to say hello and express my joy to see you back in action. Hope all's well with you. Schwede66 17:06, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

It's good to be back! Exams and Christmas are over, so there's time again for a bit of WP. —Andrewstalk 21:22, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

David Shearer

Sorry it took me so long to get to you. I will upload the picture now.--Anon 05:28, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Obsessed

I will get to the article soonest possible (tomorrow most likely). I have this pending and many more. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 11:25, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Was this a joke? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 10:04, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Don't think so. I think that user doesn't speak English as his first language. —Andrewstalk 10:17, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
He said many issues and that's why he failed it. Lol. I also don't speak English as my first language. I have done reviews 10 ten times longer than that and I am not exaggerating. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 10:25, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
To be fair it is also a short article. Oh really, is French your first language? —Andrewstalk 10:28, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
No. I speak Creole language. By the way, his parents are Americans if I am not wrong. :D Jivesh1205 (Talk) 10:29, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi! Welcome back!

Hello Andrew! You're back, aren't you? That's really great! I decided to leave Wiki because I lost interest in editing music articles. I've decided that if I return [back], I'll stick to anime-manga articles :) My first GA would be InuYasha :) I'd love your help with that. Novice7 (talk) 13:50, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Yep. Oh, well remember that your edits have always been and will continue to be much appreciated. Yeah, I also edit NZ politics articles. —Andrewstalk 01:42, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. Your edits too. So, as you've returned, I guess I will edit for a few days. So, is your school over? What's up next? University? Novice7 (talk) 06:36, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Nah, one more year at school still. Thankfully, I don't have to take English this year! Man, I hate it. Next year I think I'll do a BSci. —Andrewstalk 06:50, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Mags, I am so happy to see this. Lol. I check your contributions everyday but whenever I log in, you are not here. :( Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:52, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Just a week or so Jivesh. And NO pop articles! :D This year is very important for me. If I don't get into college, God, my parents will sent me to hell lol. Andrew, you hate English? It was one of the subjects I liked a lot (I never fell asleep during English class lol). I have something else to ask too. Have you listened to "American Boy" song? I like[d] it. Now, I only listen to J-pop songs! "Goodbye Happiness" is an amazing song and so is "Never End" and "What a Feeling". Novice7 (talk) 07:00, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Urrgh. Not sure what it's like in India, but here all we do is write creative writing (the worst part) and, at the end of year 3 hour exam, three essays about film, novel and short texts, and then analyse unfamiliar texts. I don't mind the formal writing/speeches, but I can't put myself through a year of the rest of it. No, I prefer maths and sciences. I topped my year in chemistry and the year above me in statistics last year. :D —Andrewstalk 07:14, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Oh, and yep, American Boy's a good song, but I find J-Pop laughable. I mean, huh? —Andrewstalk 07:16, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Oh, that's a bit too much lol. We have to write essays too, analyse text, and other stuff. Wow, you topped Chemistry? Statistic? WOW. Lol, that song's music is cute, the lyrics is lol. Not all songs are like that. There are some very good hip hop, R&B, dance song ([1], [2] etc.) There are lots of amazing singers too. Their CDs are costly though. One CD is Rs 1500 (which is $36.23 NZ) :O Novice7 (talk) 07:26, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Re: GAs

Oops, must have missed that one. Thanks for catching it. Regards, Ruby 2010/2013 04:58, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Jud Süß (1940 film)

Thank you for your comments on the FA candidacy of Jud Süß (1940 film). I wonder if you could help me address the issues that you raised. I don't have a lot of experience dealing with images. For example, you commented that this image in Wikimedia Commons needed an English description. I'm not sure how to add an English description to the existing German one. Can you explain to me what I need to do? Thanx. --Pseudo-Richard (talk) 06:44, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Of course, I'm happy to help! You need to describe what the image is of, ie 'Cover of [book title] (+ English translation), written by [author], published in [date/year]. —Andrewstalk 06:55, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
To add another description in English, use the template {{tl|en|description goes here}}. —Andrewstalk 09:14, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi

I am page stalking Ozurbanmusic, so I saw that you uploaded a new sample for "Best Thing I Never Had". I am currently working on "Unfaithful" and its sample is way to long for its length. Can you edit it? Thanks — Tomica1111Question Existing? 11:00, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Ahh, back in Rihanna's prime! I changed to a different part to capture the end of the first chorus and the percussion between it and the next verse. Let me know if you want me to change it. —Andrewstalk 22:44, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
That Rihanna rein just won't let up. Haha :) ! Thanks Adabow, it's super perfect to me ;) ! — Tomica1111Question Existing? 10:56, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Request

Thanks for BTINH. Can you please upload a better quality for this? I get the impression that Candy uploaded it while his earphones were plugged in his CPU. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 13:58, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Lol. Done. —Andrewstalk 22:45, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. :D Ada, I need you to change the sample of BTINH for the nth time. Lol. Please change it to 1:18 to 1:43 as this will allow me to show to bass drums, the string undercurrent, and most importantly, the cascading piano work and the part where Knowles' vocals sound aggressive. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 05:30, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
And for "Halo", I need the third chorus. From 3:35 to 4:01. Why? Because the is not better better part on the song which shows the R&B undertones as they meld with soaring strings and the stomp box which provides the step sound. (beats) Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:00, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
They are flawless. :D Thanks. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 10:44, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
No problem. —Andrewstalk 10:46, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Wait the one for BTINH is till not good. My mistake. Lol. It's 1:28 to 1:53. :() By the way, do you think it is too early to send BTINH for its first trial at the FAC? I mean as you know Beyonce does not talk a lot about her songs, so I don't see more information about it being revealed. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 10:47, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Happy New Year! It is 12:03, 1 Jan 2012 where I am now. ;D Umm wait til the PR is closed, then maybe. I'll have a decent look over it tomorrow. I think you should change the picture to one of her performing BTINH. —Andrewstalk 11:04, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

By the way, don't put ellipses [...] at the beginning or end of quotes, but only in the middle when you have omitted something. —Andrewstalk 11:06, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Happy New Year 2012 from me and Beyonce. Lol. It's only 15 00 here. 9 hours to go. Have fun. I will try to find a picture in accordance to BTINH. For now, I am nominating "Halo". Jivesh1205 (Talk) 11:08, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Still here? Need your opinion on something. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 11:20, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
What is it? —Andrewstalk 11:22, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Does this look good? I changed it as the source does not talk about theme or musical style... It only specifies kiss-off anthem, which is indeed true, judging from the lyrics. Is what I have written good? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 11:29, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Remember to paraphrase things. Plagiarism and close paraphrases can be big problems at FAC. Novice had trouble with Irresistible like that. —Andrewstalk 11:31, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Is it too close then? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 11:35, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure, I haven't had a look at sources and compared. Tomorrow I'll do a thorough check and review of the article. Right now, it's sleep time. :-) —Andrewstalk 11:36, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Lol. I was not asking for that whole section. Only for the one sentence I just corrected. :D Jivesh1205 (Talk) 11:40, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, maybe try to think of a synonym for "kissoff"? —Andrewstalk 19:00, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Lol. Already checked the dictionary. Nothing. What a joke!. *sarcasm* Jivesh1205 (Talk) 21:27, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Meh. I'll just renom in a couple of weeks. I'm gonna be at the beach from 8-18 Jan, so I don't wanna nom now. —Andrewstalk 23:06, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Wow, with friends (and girls)? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:35, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

I really think we might get this one passed if you can help me figure out the "Be consistent in whether you provide publishers for newspapers and magazines, and if so how these are notated " and "Be consistent in what location info is provided for albums" concerns.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:12, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi Andrew, thanks for fixing up the template mess on this image page. I see you've also added the {{PD-1923}} template to this and the file it's based on. Could you please add a note saying where you found out it was published before 1923? All I've discovered (from the Alexander Turnbull Library website) is that it was in volume 1 (out of 3) of the Annals of the Tararua Range, covering the period from 1909 to 1918. But I don't know when this was published, and given that volume 3 covers from 1927 to 1929, it seems possible they were all published together after that date. --Avenue (talk) 21:23, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

True, the Alexander Turnbull Library's listing isn't entirely clear about what that date (20 August 1909) means, but I'm reasonably sure that it's the date the picture was taken. It appears in the original document, in the picture's handwritten caption - again without specifying exactly what the date means, but that seems reasonably clear from the context. --Avenue (talk) 23:21, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
I don't think {{PD-US-not renewed}} would apply, since it only claims to cover works first published in the US. A similar rule would apply if it was out of NZ copyright on 1 Jan 1996, but looking into things a bit further, I see that the photographer only died in 1964.[3] The photo is thus clearly still covered by NZ copyright today, so I've tagged it as a copyvio. --Avenue (talk) 08:49, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Ada, can you help me with this list? The captions and alt? You know I suck at both :) Ryōga Hibiki (talkcontribs) 07:25, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Oh, that sounds great! Oops, I meant major :D Here, we say Science stream, Math stream etc. It's the same as Science major... :) Ryōga Hibiki (talkcontribs) 07:07, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

UTEOT

Hi Andrew. What's up? So you like this song? I have never listened to it. :D Jivesh1205 (Talk) 05:54, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, it's pretty good, but not great. I'm surprised it did so well in the charts. —Andrewstalk 06:19, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Really? I am going to listen to it then. Andrew, does article size matter at FAC? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:21, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Yes, to an extent. The criteria state, "it neglects no major facts or details and places the subject in context, ... it is a thorough and representative survey of the relevant literature ... it stays focused on the main topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style)." So, an article must explain the topic in full, but not contain info of little relevance. Only with really big articles (such as countries) is it necessary to create spin-off articles (eg United States and History of the United States). —Andrewstalk 06:37, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
What about the chances of this then? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:39, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
It's possible. The composition section is probably the weakest part of the article at the moment. Personally I think the best chances for WP:BEY FAs are IIWAB, CIL, RTA and WDYLM, and mayybe RTW(G) and Dreamgirls. —Andrewstalk 06:49, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
I have already prepared RTA and IIWAB (in fact this month itself). I just have to polish them. Actually, I thought of BHG because of "Rehab". If you compare, BHG has more information for every section except the Music video and the live performances. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:54, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Please change this from 1:36 to 2:01 whenever possible. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 10:20, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Welcome back. In case, you missed the above message. :D That's all I am waiting for before nominating it for FAC. Thanks. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 05:39, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Whoops, sorry I did miss it. I'll get onto it now. —Andrewstalk 05:40, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Wait. It's 1:36 to 2:03. :P Jivesh1205 (Talk) 05:44, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 05:52, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

WKA FAC — additional images

Hi. I just added two images to United States v. Wong Kim Ark — photos of the two justices who wrote the majority and dissenting opinions. Since you commented on the Featured Article candidacy of this article and said you supported the article's use of media, I'm notifying you so that you can take another look at the article now and comment as you see fit. I believe these two new images are appropriate, and they are both tagged as public domain, and I can't imagine any reason why there would be a problem with them; however, I would certainly be willing to remove them if you see an issue. — Richwales 06:52, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Help

Hi. I need your help. Is this article needed? It was only a local tour with small venues. Oz talk 05:45, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't think so. I haven't done a decent search for reviews, background info etc, but I doubt there's much out there. —Andrewstalk 05:47, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
I don't think its needed too. But that's not going to stop the user from recreating the article if I redirect it. Oz talk 05:50, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
If he keeps recreating it, take it to AFD, which may result in a protected redirect or a deletion. If it's deleted, other recreations can be speedily deleted. —Andrewstalk 05:53, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Okay thanks. Oz talk 05:55, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Teapot Tapes

Hi Andrew

I am saddened that you chose to remove my minor edits on the Teapot Tapes. I considered them important background comments that would contextualise the article for those unfamiliar with its context. If you would be so kind as to restore them I am certain that over the next few days I will find sufficient citations to back them up, though in New Zealand my comments would be regarded as "common knowledge".

Regards Tony Wallace — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tony.wallace.nz (talkcontribs) 02:31, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
