Information icon Hello, I'm Ifnord. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to John Magufuli have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. Ifnord (talk) 03:08, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 20:43, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As an adminstrator here, please could I add a further request that you do not get angry, and to be more respectful to other editors? We work collaboratively here, and anyone from any country may edit articles according to our policies and guidelines. One of them is respect, so this edit summary is not something I want to see again, from anyone, please. The policy called Wikipedia:Ownership of content may help you understand that we all may contribute to articles on topics, and that no person or nation has editing rights to articles about certain topics. Everyone has good and bad sides to them, and Wikipedia covers both if they are sourced to reliable media reporting. Thank you. Nick Moyes (talk) 10:17, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Nick Moyes: Ok I have edited the introductory part that claims Magufuli was spreading misinformation. Misinformation is subjective. Science is objective. Magufuli used a scientific approach to decide his policy on COVID-19. So I have cited all the necessary references. I didn't get you about ownership. You mean the "anyone can edit" is a farce, and articled in stead have owners?AfrikaMoja (talk) 19:31, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at John Magufuli. Cordless Larry (talk) 19:36, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your claims about Magufuli

[edit]

In this edit you introduce a number of claims that do not appear to be supported by reliable sources:

  1. Magufuli was known for his exemplary leadership in dealing with COVID-19.
The cited soource actually questions Magfuli's handling of the crisis.
  2. He scientifically proved the COVID-19 tests were unreliable...
According to the cited source he claimed that the tests were unreliable, based on deceptive practices undertaken by his own government. This is hardly scientific proof.
  3. This removed the fears that those statistics were causing and allowed Tanzania to continue with life as usual.
The cited source indicates that Magfuli removed COVID-19 restrictions, but makes no mention of the removal of fear among the nation's populace.
  4. Your text implies that COVID-19 numbers were declining, but the BBC source that you removed indicated that Magfuli's government's official numbers may not have been accurate based on the numbers of truckers testing positive at border crossings.

You have repeatedly tried to introduce your preferred version of this material, and have repeatedly been told that your editing is problematic at best. Please wait until consensus has been reached at Talk:John Magufuli prior to reintroducing this material. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:07, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are treading dangerously close to violating WP:3RR and getting blocked. You have not achieved consensus for the edits you want to make, and your failure to assume good faith among the Wikipedia community is not likely to win you many allies in your efforts. And just to address your (AfrikaMoja)'s point about us not being allowed to talk about Tanazian peoples; that ain't right. We are allowed to discuss and criticise anyone who falls in our scope, so long as it doesn't amount beyond criticism into pure defamation, and we don't need to fall under Tanazian laws to do so.
