Thanks for your note. The more I looked at it, the more it became clear that someone was just writing down what happened to them when they went to the Stadium one day and got annoyed at certain things. Hard telling how long it was there in the article... and whether it will come back. d:) Baseball Bugs 06:19, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Rugby Union
[edit]Hi, and welcome to the Rugby union WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to rugby union.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPRU Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, peer review, and a collaboration of the fortnight.
- We have a Fiji rugby task force that focus on Fiji related rugby union articles.
- Our requests page has extensive lists of requested articles.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorisation, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Shudda talk 06:21, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Rugby union national team Improvement Drive
[edit]We need your help! Here is what you can do:
- Adopt a national rugby union team article and collaborate with other members to improve it.
- Find, create and upload free images that will help improve these articles.
- Copy-edit, reference, and expand articles when and where you can.
- Promote the project and encourage others to join.
The World Cup is fast approaching and these articles are going to get a lot more hits during the tournament. It would be great if we could have them at a high standard!
For more information see the discussion on the WikiProject Rugby union talk page here.

Hi Andy. This is good stuff but you must quote your sources or the article could be challenged by some Lancastrian or whoever. Best to have an external source section with links and a further reading section for books. By the way, I also support Liverpool and Yorkshire. All the best. re:snooker
[edit]Hi! You don't understand, why I shorten the players initials. Answer is very easy. It's don't get in the players bracket. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Artur9501 (talk • contribs) 14:22, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Grand Slam of Darts
[edit]Hi Andy. Thanks for updating the player stats (3 dart average) for round 2.
Just curious where you got them from.
(By the way, I edited the knockout table, just didn't log in. :) )
P.S. Thanks, the cookies are yum! :)

Stats
[edit]You don't have to stop, but there is really no need to update stats after every inning in the articles. Its best to wait for the game to finish, and would let you enjoy the game. -CWY2190(talk • contributions) 02:46, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- You do know that you can receive more than one barnstar. It's not like, just because I have a copy of one means I can't recieive the same one. Oh, and I looked through your contributions and you seem to be very dedicated to the project. Keep it up! --RyRy5 (talk) 15:49, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the barnstar! :) It would have been better if you added it to my talk page though. It's less confusing that way.--RyRy5 (talk) 10:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Baseball Newsletter

Baseball has a history unlike any other sport. It has been played in countless countries throughout the decades, and it will undoubtedly continue play for many more. On this eve, some the finest players the sport has to offer will take the field at the Yankee Stadium. Four popes spoke there, Pelé scored goals there, "The Greatest [football] Game Ever Played" was battled out there, John Philip Sousa lead a band there, George Costanza worked there; but what do all these events have in common? They fail to reach the level of greatness that the baseball that was played there did. In 1923, a man named Babe Ruth decided to build a new house, and over the years, that house was a home to some of the greatest baseball ever played. If I were to list out all of these great moments, it would be longer than the bill for the New Yankee Stadium. So I'll sum it up by saying that we can remember these great moments by adding them to this place we've gathered at for future generations to read about, to learn about, to dream about; but more importantly we can watch tonight and we can remember how baseball is unlike anything else that we will encounter in our lives. — Blackngold29 |

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
[edit]Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Shanghai Masters page
[edit]Hi, I saw that you reverted my reversion of SMcCandlish changes with the comment:
Revert - LOOK AT TALK PAGE!! I agree that they are ugly, but apparently this is what we have to do.
But, luckily, we do not need to do that. In fact almost no sport pages follows the guidelines in the way SMC suggests, see e.g. Liverpool_FC. In this case it is obvious that the policy has no support from the editors and it therefore has no right to exist.
Best wishes,

2008 Grand Slam of Darts
[edit]Indeed. :) Cs-wolves (talk) 14:53, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Just a thought: we should wait until all results and statistics are in before changing anything. itv's statistics are often wrong, and the PDC's website is always reliable. Regards. Cs-wolves (talk) 23:16, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'll have a look through all the ones on the PDC, compile it in a spreadsheet then sort out the table. Cs-wolves (talk) 23:30, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Darts player form New Infobox plus help required...
[edit]Hi, I've just created a template called template: Darts player form which allows you to input the players results for the past 4 years. I've only added it to Phil Taylor's article for now. Take a look and see what you think. I won't really have time to edit all the top players and source the info, but I've posted this message on many users pages so it may be used.
In addition, I've not really had the time to update 2008 in darts which has been bereft of updates since around September. The Pro Tour results are also lacking updates. It may not be a page that continues with 2009 in darts if its not significant enough. Again, if you or any other user wants to take control of adding results then I'd really appreciate it. Welcome to WikiProject Darts!
[edit]Hi, welcome to the WikiProject. It was started in July 2010 by Mr.Kennedy1, who unfortunately retired two months ago. As you can see the project is in its early stages and we hope that it will grow. Thanks again for joining. —Half Price 12:48, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Hi Andy. Just noticed how many Go (game)-related BLPs you've saved, as part of your sterling work on the Wikipedia:Unreferenced BLP Rescue project. Kudos to you, and please accept the appreciation from all of us at Wikipedia:WikiProject Go. Regards, Trafford09 (talk) 12:44, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
- No Problem! Coincidentally I've just started learning to play Go so I'm hoping to be on these Wikipedia pages someday myself (although I highly doubt it...) Andy4226uk (talk) 12:47, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Great. So you'll have started to see how enjoyable and addictive Go can be! Wonder if you were aware of all these:
Enjoy WP and Go :) Trafford09 (talk) 14:37, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Deletion sorting notices
[edit]You've done this several times, now, so it's probably time to make more of a fuss about it, since you've not spotted the error yourself and fixed it. Go and look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/United States of America#Eleanor Thatcher and Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/United States of America#LifeGuard30 to see what your mode of deletion sorting tagging is doing. Uncle G (talk) 17:47, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for letting me know! I'll watch out for it in the future. Andy4226uk (talk) 19:03, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Sources
[edit]Hi Andy4226uk. Thanks for the sources you have recently added to a large number of articles. A couple of minor points to consider:
- The standard capitalisation for an external links section is "External links" (i.e. with a lower case "l" in "links") - see MOS:APPENDIX.
- If you are identifying these external links as sources for some of the information in the article (which it seems you are, as you are removing the {{unsourced}} templates), then it might be worth labelling them as "References" or "Sources" rather than "External links"; otherwise there's a good chance that other editors will come along later and say "this article has no references or sources" and re-add the {{unsourced}} template.
Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 09:22, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice! Andy4226uk (talk) 11:26, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- You're welcome. DH85868993 (talk) 12:03, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Edward Ward, or Donald Ward?
[edit]Would you know whether Bradford Northern's Edward Ward should actually be named Donald Ward. I've put a description of the conundrum on Talk:Edward Ward (rugby league). Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 09:05, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
