If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Marketer (Building), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you.

Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).== Managing a conflict of interest == Information icon Hello, Arachlow. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Empower MediaMarketing, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Hasteur (talk) 18:04, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I did a little searching and found that you're a part of Empower MediaMarketing. I won't say more than that in order to avoid any potential doxing, but I did want to say that as an employee of the company you absolutely must divulge any conflict of interest prior to editing and follow guidelines very, very closely. As you're used to writing marketing materials, you absolutely want to use the articles for creation process when making articles, as we've found that many marketers are so used to marketing speak that they don't really see when something is promotional. In other words, you're so inured to promotional language that it can be difficult to tell when you're using language that violates the NPOV guidelines. I heavily recommend that while you draft your article at AfC, that you seek advice from the WP:TEAHOUSE and ask for people to read over your draft and point out any issues. @Tokyogirl79, Thank you very much for your feedback. I never tried to hide my background, I was just simply unaware of the COI rules. I have begun digging through all of the rules much more closely and I intend to uphold the standards Wikipedia has set. I have added my COI disclosure to our company page and only plan on making slight tweaks to add important facts about the company. I also became aware of the afc process through this series of events and plan on adding an article in the future that way. BTW your all too right about my "marketing" talk. I am accustom to that language and i plan to stay as far away from the copy as possible and just provide some facts for a more qualified writeter. Again I appreciate the feedback and help you and other admins have been. Arachlow (talk) 13:27, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, since it apparently needs to be said more forcefully. Because you work for the company, you really shouldn't be editing the company page at all. If you have suggestions post them on the talk page and let an independent user decide how to to incorporate the information. If the content hasn't been used or acknowledged you can post at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard to try and flag down a user to look at your request. Hasteur (talk) 14:38, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. I will not touch the page from here on out. Arachlow (talk) 17:01, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
