Speaking Dictionary - reposted after deletion of XS2The World Speaking Dictionary
Hi again, Chris,
Below is a message I sent you yesterday (Jan. 27th) - it may have gotten into the Archives so you may not have seen it:
Hi again, Chris,
My goodness - you have been hard at work on those citations - much appreciated! They also give me some insight into which tags to use to create them - thank you!
Re: outstanding citations - The one for the Beijing Olympics is located in the company profile in PDF file format that the client sent me, which I know is not posted publicly - how can I cite it properly? I am still hunting for the source of the other one, about BlackBerry/PDA use.
Re: the similar article. I have just posted it (called "Mobile City Guide"), and you'll see that really only the Overview is different (probably you saw this product on the company website), as they are being promoted together. But the client specified that he definitely wants two separate entries.
And finally, re: company name in red italics - this means that there is no existing Wikipedia entry with that name. Could I (with the client's permission) create a short, neutral entry, just listing who they are, where they are located, and what they do? (I created such an entry for another company two years ago, and it is still posted.) Otherwise, maybe it is better just to have the company name in regular type with no links.
Chris, thank you once again!
Best regards,
Susan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Susan E Webb (talk • contribs) 13:01, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Deviantart logo.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Deviantart logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Malkinann (talk) 22:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Sinezona brevis
Why do you want to delete my new article??? GrahamBould (talk) 20:05, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- Are you saying you want to delete the article because you are unable to Google more than one hit? You must be out of your mind. I got plenty of hits. Unless you retract all this rubbish I will lodge a complaint. GrahamBould (talk) 20:17, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
I reviewed this speedy tag and I am unable to see why it was tagged as {{db-nonsense}}. Speedy deletion criterion A1 states "# Patent nonsense and gibberish, an unsalvageably incoherent page with no meaningful content." This does not meet that criterion. Further, "This does not include: poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, vandalism, fictional material, material not in English, badly translated material, implausible theories, or hoaxes of any sort."
Speedy deletion is not the place to decide on notability and counting google hits is not a method for determining if a article is nonsense. I have removed the tag and suggest you re-read WP:CSD. Thanks Mattinbgn\talk 20:27, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- Just got your message, CSD is not AfD. If you think the topic is not notable, take it to Articles for deletion. -- Mattinbgn\talk 20:28, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- Not a problem, happens to all of us. :-) -- Mattinbgn\talk 21:23, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion
Looks like you are pretty trigger-happy with "Speedy deletion" tags. e.g. Gwynedd Rae: if you had looked at the article, the publication list showed the sustained popularity of this children's author. Could you get your pleasure elsewhere, please? Vernon White . . . Talk 23:23, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

XS2The World B.V. (Speaking Dictionary/Mobile City Guide company entry - logo question)
Hi again Chris,
Thank you - got your other messages re: SVGing the logo. I had this logo uploaded originally (remember - you chimed in with advice about how to post it with the right copyrighting etc.?)when my first go at the article was deleted, as it couldn't stay orphaned for more than a week. After getting the go-ahead from my client, I have the short company profile ("XS2The World B.V.") posted now, so I am wondering if you could have a look, and let me know if the logo would fit in nicely there.
Also, do you know if there is any way of retrieving the deleted logo (I can look up the date etc. if necessary), because the tags had all the permissions and everything needed for it to stay up, so I would have to recreate the whole shebang otherwise....
Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks again,
Susan Susan E Webb (talk) 05:35, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi again Chris,
Help! Now this entry has been tagged for speedy deletion ("blatant advertising"), and I don't know what to say to contest it - can you suggest anything?
Many thanks,
Susan Susan E Webb (talk) 14:45, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi again Chris,
Thanks for the update - I have been following your correspondence with the other editor. Yes, please, if you can rewrite both articles, then a few days is just fine. I'd say also that perhaps it's best to leave the logo graphic out altogether.
Thank you so much for your support - it is much appreciated!
Many many thanks,
Susan Susan E Webb (talk) 17:14, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cannibal Corpse Logo.svg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Cannibal Corpse Logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:09, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Speaking Dictionary
An editor has nominated Speaking Dictionary, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Speaking Dictionary and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:59, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:User DC
A tag has been placed on Template:User DC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 22:31, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
