Let's reduce the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement!
[edit]Hi BenBezuidenhout, please allow me to get in touch with you because you have stated sympathy with environmental causes on your user page. I would like to invite you to check out the Environmental impact project page on Meta, where I am trying to create some momentum to reduce the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement. My first goal is to have all the Wikimedia servers run on renewable energy. Maybe you could show your support for this project as well by adding your signature? Thank you, --Gnom (talk) 19:29, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
List of tallest buildings in the United Kingdom - Sapphire Tower - "it's not u/c yet though"
[edit]Hi BenBezuidenhout,
The reference doesn't mention it being under construction, although as I live in Cardiff, I have passed the site last week and the construction equipment is on site. Unfortunately I cannot find a reference to confirm this. I could take some images and put them in Commons, hopefully that will suffice. SethWhales talk 17:48, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- Firstly just want to say I really really hope this gets off the ground, Wales desperately needs a new high rise and how exciting would it be for the tallest building outside London/Manchester in the UK to be in Wales. But on that note I'm afraid anecdotes aren't sufficient and you're right; try uploading some images to commons. I also am hesitant even to allow those kind of images as evidence. As has been seen in many failed high rise projects in the UK, simply having construction equipment isn't really enough to merit it u/c just yet. We need to see ground works (ie physical drilling/pilling/core to qualify it as under construction. Basically we're looking for a whole in the ground at least. Hope that helps.
