July 2024[edit]

Hello, the article you tried to create and add to List of Hindu temples in the United States appears to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Please see WP:PROMOTION. Also, it appears you have a close connection with the article's topic and this violates WP:COI. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. - Ram1751 (talk) 20:57, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I am a volunteer at the temple and noticed it was not listed in Wikipedia while hundreds of other temples are listed. Our org is one of the largest in central Texas and deserves a page. Pl help provide guidance on how to publish page if not with the facts I used. All I mentioned are historic dates , facilities, and services available. More than happy to remove or change language. I have also filled in the conflict of interest before starting this draft as required by Wikipedia. 2600:1700:7E:4100:89AD:D138:73E1:F390 (talk) 00:51, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Given your connection with the temple and your statement "Our org is one of the largest in central Texas and deserves a page." indicates you are primarily here for WP:ADVOCACY. Therefore, per Wikipedia guidelines you should not create an article about your temple. Also, Wikipedia is not a directory (see WP:NOTDIRECTORY), nor is the article List of Hindu temples in the United States. (See the topic 'Requirements for inclusion in list articles' on its talk page.) Waqar, please provide additional guidance as appropriate. Thank you. Ram1751 (talk) 18:20, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Understood and I apologize, kindly delete my draft, since it seems is not appropriate. I do request you to help guide how or where we can document this place, given it’s significant presence in the community, and it being one of the largest in central Texas, and its impact to thousands of central Texas residents? 2600:1700:7E:4100:E021:F844:4D79:E32A (talk) 01:36, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
