Hi, I left a comment for you here. Thanks, Jafeluv (talk) 05:42, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I must admit being confused about this disambiguation page. Should I take all this to mean that 3 different persons independently described what they thought was a "new" species as Nicrophorus cadaverinus, but each time described an already known species, so that "their" N. cadaverinus is just a synonym? I removed the text on the disambiguation page because I had no clue how to interpret this (and, mind you, I was trained as a taxonomist - albeit years ago). Perhaps the text on the disambiguation page could be reformulated to make things less ambiguous... --Crusio (talk) 21:50, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Italics
[edit]Hi Bob,
My watchlist shows you've been adding an italics template to several genus-level dinosaur articles. However, these articles already are italicized. The List of dinosaurs has over 1,000 articles that haven't received your template, which actually doesn't do anything, since they are all properly in italics (except a few which should not be in italics). Is there a way you can exclude these articles from your to-do list? Firsfron of Ronchester 01:11, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- Got it! That's very cool. :) Firsfron of Ronchester 01:50, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Question
[edit]I have abasic question to ask you. If I want to give someone an award, should I place it directly on their user page or on their talk page? BillClinton1000 (talk) 16:47, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

For taking time to answer my basic question. -BillClinton1000 (talk) 15:44, 1 July 2009 (UTC) |
I've moved most of the history that was in User:Bob the Wikipedian/Mouth to mouth (disambiguation), as that seemed like the best way to preserve all the history formerly at the mouth article. Cut-and-paste moves like the one you did between mouth and mouth (disambiguation) are a *really* bad idea, and you should have asked an admin to do a history merge on mouth (disambiguation), which I have just done. I've notified you because this history merge involved a page that was in your userspace. I notice that you didn't do an exact cut and paste move, but there's never any need to delete over 600 edits of legitimate page history. Graham87 17:11, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, you got an admin to pitch in when you asked for editor assistance last May. I found this by checking what linked to your mouth user subpage. Unfortunately, not all admins are created equal, and some of them will solve problems the wrong way. See a note I wrote on the Andrew Picken talk page and the logs for Andrew Picken, for a spectacular example of this problem. Graham87 17:21, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

MP 25 Disambiguation
[edit]You created the disambiguation page MP 25. Some of the articles it points to, Rupelian and Chattian, do not list MP 25 as an alternate name. Could you provide a source that references this name? Jujutacular (talk) 20:47, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
MP5 Disambiguation
[edit]The MP5 redirect has been around for seven years and averages 1000 hits per day. I would hazzard a guess that at least 97% of the people who search or link MP5 are looking for the submachinegun by that name. I very much doubt that a large number of users would be looking for Danian by searching for a letter abbreviation for Mammal Paleogene Zone 5. I would suggest creating a redirect at MPZ5 if you really feel it is necessary, but please do not interrupt the MP5 redirect. EDIT: I got zero hits when searching "Mammal Paleogene 5" and "Mammal Paleogene Zone 5" at Google. Some guy (talk) 20:49, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's much better to have it as a hatnote, but I would still like to see your rationale as to why a link to Mammal Paleogene 5 is important or notable. I also think it's odd that you changed the article it's linked to from Danian to Thanetian. Some guy (talk) 06:41, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Obviously I'm not familiar with the subject matter but your approach strikes me as wrong. It is my opinion that a reference to an abbreviation for an individual zone is not notable, particularly if that zone falls under multiple Paleocene epoch stages and the link is to one of the epochs instead of an article about Mammal Paleogene zones. Is there an article or section anywhere which even discusses Mammal Paleogene zones on whole? I'm not going to remove the hatnote, but I think it's unnecessary. Some guy (talk) 07:28, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds like a good goal. Good luck with that, I hope it works out well. Some guy (talk) 19:33, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Another Question
[edit]Hello. I have another question to ask you. This one should be even easier to answer than the last one. Which key do I use to to put in a straight line? BillClinton1000 (talk) 19:34, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
I just noticed that you like jokes. Why did the chicken cross the road? He was running from Colonel Sanders. BillClinton1000 (talk) 19:37, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes, a user Cinamon (sp.?) has been spamming book adverts all over the place in the past. They're relevant enough in some places, but many posts were distinctly spammy and needed pruning at least. Andy Dingley (talk) 19:56, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
