Please don't add copyrighted text to Wikipedia

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your creation of the article, Sorry, I Love You, but we cannot accept copyrighted text borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Please see Wikipedia:Copyright problems for more information on this topic, or generally, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines. Please do not remove the copyright violation notice placed in the article or repost the suspected infringing text. However, if you would like to rewrite the article in your own words, follow the link in the posted notice to create a temporary subpage. If your new article is appropriate, and not a further copyright violation, the reviewing administrator will move that new article into place once the copyright status of the original has been resolved. Happy editing! Brian 21:50, 2 July 2006 (UTC)btball[reply]

Hi there. I'd like to welcome you to Wikipedia. However, you should know that your username verges on the unacceptable, and another administrator may decide to block you on those grounds (I considered doing it myself, in fact). I therefore strongly suggest that you choose a new username before you become too attached to this one.

If another administrator does block you for a bad username, then your IP will be automatically blocked for 24 hours (a necessary precaution against vandals who create dozens of garbage usernames in a row); if this happens, simply e-mail me via the link on my userpage, and I will fix things for you.

And Lovestruck sounds like a really cool movie. DS 14:06, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please stop posting material that you've cut and pasted from websites. I've reported three now and it appears I have more to do. If you keep posting copyright material, I'll have to ask an admin to block your account. Thanks Brian 22:14, 2 July 2006 (UTC)btball[reply]

License tagging for Image:2f74-1-.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:2f74-1-.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Unspecified source for Image:Aquano.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aquano.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. cholmes75 (chit chat) 22:35, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Quarl (talk) 2006-11-22 19:24Z

As far as we can tell, these articles created by you and User:Tonyboy092392 are hoaxes:

and maybe Princess Charming

If they are not, please comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kahit Wala Ka Na. Thanks. Quarl (talk) 2006-11-22 19:32Z

Lupin III (Philippine TV series)

[edit]

Hi, at Lupin III (Philippine TV series), I had removed these three lines, which you then reinserted:

* as Jigen
* as Detective Zenigata
* as Clarisse d'Cagliostro

I explained in the edit history that they do not belong until we have actors' names. If you would like to indicate that these are characters with no known actors, that should be noted somewhere outside the list. - furrykef (Talk at me) 01:28, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I found them put back again. Ignoring the advice of your fellow editors is pretty rude. - furrykef (Talk at me) 20:25, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of top rated Philippine Dramas has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this information might be based on your own conclusions or research, rather than published ideas. Please review Wikipedia:No original research for the relevant policy. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so, citing sources.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Kahit_wala_ka_na.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kahit_wala_ka_na.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MECUtalk 01:07, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please use proper licensing tags

[edit]

Wikipedia welcomes all constructive contributions to our encyclopedia, but your recent addition appears to be copyrighted text or image. Unfortunately, we cannot accept copyrighted material, for it is legally incompatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, under which Wikipedia is published. Please contribute in your own words with external material as a reference. Thank you.

Please use the proper licensing tag and provide a valid fair-use rationale whenever you upload pictures. For example, when you upload a picture of a promotional material for a tv series, please don't tag it as a "movie poster" or a "DVD cover". Wikipedia has to deal with a lot of legal issues whenever editors do that. Also, by the US/UK Fair-use/Fair-dealing laws (and Philippine copyright law as well, which applies to your additions) you must provide a fair use rationale whenever you upload a picture with a fair-use claim. Lastly, please specify the owner of the copyright of the material you upload and specify the source (please be very specific) of the image. Just a few steps such as these will contribute greatly to your standing as a valued Wikipedia editor. Thank you. Shrumster 07:04, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Victorneri.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Victorneri.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Invalid fair-use tag. Image is neither a movie poster, neither is the subject media of the image a movie.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:Image:Victorneri.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Shrumster 06:12, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Mn princess.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Mn princess.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shrumster 10:00, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Hdr05-1-.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hdr05-1-.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:00, 6 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shrumster 10:00, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
