Hello there! I just wanted to say that Volunteer (canal boat) is pretty darn good for a first article, and I can see that you've put in a lot of hard work to get it to the point it's at today. So thanks for your contributions and your perseverance, and I hope you'll keep it up. The more you edit, the more you learn, and the easier it gets. I'll post a welcome template below which I've found helpful in the past; it's a good way to explore guidelines and policy stuff. So thanks again, and happy editing! --Fullobeans (talk) 00:38, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for the template. I think this will help out a little more. I am learning as I go here, and I will do a lot of things differently when I write my next article. I understand that wikipedia has criteria for what is acceptable and what is not. I have no problem with criticism, as long as it is constructive. I also think if you have the time to mark and article for deletion you should follow up and check to see if the article has been corrected and leave a comment as such. Thanks again! Ah, yes, that's called biting newbies, and unfortunately we're all guilty of it on occasion. It's of course a terrible thing to do, but if you browse through the New Pages log, you'll get an idea of just how much fluff gets added to Wikipedia every day. Editors who patrol the New Pages log on a regular basis can sometimes get a bit *ahem* overzealous when it comes to marking pages for deletion. But then, that's why we have the AfD process instead of just speedy deleting everything. I think you'll find that, once you've established yourself as a good faith editor, people will be a lot less suspicious of your edits. In the meantime, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have; just leave me a message on my talk page. --Fullobeans (talk) 09:11, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've been watching you revert-warring with User:Ravenswing over this article for the past day or so, could you please cool off and discuss it before making further edits?-- SonicAD (talk) 05:19, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

10-03-2009 This hockey league has faced many changes over the years. The changes I am making represent the current state of the league. Ravenswing was basing his argument over out dated references. The edit war should now be over since I have removed all the old dead reference links and updated them with current links that represent the current status of the league. The fact is this is a mid level professional AA+ league that competes with the ECHL. The only difference is the IHL it self is not affiliated with the NHL. The players skill level in the ECHL and IHL are comparable. Braddaman1 (talk) 20:20, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Following your (however reverted) comment of today, I have a .sig I often use on such bulletin boards as allow them: it's not that we don't understand what you're saying, it's that we don't agree with what you're saying. The nature of a consensus-driven environment is that sometimes it runs against you, and in that instance your choices are either to go with the flow or let it go. This is part of the reason why WP:OWN is an official Wikipedia policy. On this particular issue, consensus was unanimously against your position, and you still haven't provided any evidence that this letter-grade system officially applies to hockey minor leagues. It's regrettable if you choose to leave Wikipedia over being on the wrong side of consensus on an issue, but of course you're the best judge of your own time.  Ravenswing  07:09, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
