Welcome to Wikipedia

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. You may want to take a look at the welcome page, tutorial, and stylebook, avoiding common mistakes and Wikipedia is not pages.

I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers such as yourself:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page (and if I don't know the answer, I can point you over to a person who does). Happy editing!

Many thanks to Spinboy for sending me the above greeting a couple of years ago - I cannot improve on it! B.Wind 02:25, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Florida State Road 836 and the 97th Avenue Overpass collapse

[edit]

Just a little "heads up" as I had to revert your correction to the Florida State Road 836 article. The closest Hurricane Dennis came to Miami-Dade County was the Dry Tortugas roughly 250 miles away; it was Hurricane Katrina that toppled the under-construction overpass on August 25, 2005. It hit here as a Category One hurricane that had landfall at Golden Beach and angled southwestward. Having a direct hit from Wilma in October after a Rita near-miss in September did not help matters afterward. Keep on pluggin'! B.Wind 02:25, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
