Speedy deletion nomination of Marco Cianni
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Marco Cianni, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Alexandermcnabb (talk) 11:35, 10 November 2023 (UTC)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Hello Charles Bassford. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Charles Bassford. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Charles Bassford|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MrOllie (talk) 15:31, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi I am not being paid for this article.
- I have no financial stake in promoting this subject.
- This is a grossly unfair accusation. Charles Bassford (talk) 15:58, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Whatever your motivation, please stop adding promotional articles (with zero independent sources) and/or mentions of this person's work to other encyclopedia articles. It is a pattern of promotional behavior that must stop. MrOllie (talk) 16:34, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- So are you saying all of the publications are not independent sources?
- How are they not independent, if he is not employed by them or have any relationship with them? Charles Bassford (talk) 17:08, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

- Please explain your relationship with Marco Cianni. You have uploaded a photograph of him that you claim to have taken yourself and also referenced an article using this image of a certificate for an obscure award that there is no way in hell can be found via google. SmartSE (talk) 18:47, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- You are extremely rude and aggressive
- I am fairly new to this platform, do you not think about how you talk to people before you make aggressive accusations against them!?
- The image of Dr Marco Cianni was take by me at his wedding in New Zealand, is that ok with you?
- The certificate may be obscure to you but is not to the Anglia Riskin University, a PhD is also not able to be found by Google, so are you saying that someone's PhD is obscure as well !?
- Lets discuss the publications, are you saying that these are not independent? ...if so why do you believe that they are not independent? Charles Bassford (talk) 19:02, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- I know Dr Marco Cianni as I work at Gerson Lehrman Group, which is involved in many of the industry sectors in which he has contributed to e.g. satellite communications, automation and control, AI HiPER ring fibre optic networks. Charles Bassford (talk) 19:07, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
