The Wikipedia Adventure is a bit out of date. The tutorial here is very useful for new editors. StarryGrandma (talk) 21:30, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you.

@Cullen328 I absolutely believed that the block was incorrect or made in error because my username doesn't represent a company or a business, but rather selected the name as an starting original idea made up by me and an inspiration from other usernames like usernames with the title, "books" in there. Also, neither I was associated with an individual working for the company, nor the official Chronicle Books manager or founder. Plus, I tend to select that name, because I had a huge interest in books and knowledge as a topic, and I believe that that name I chose, was unique as well. Plus, the username I created, also has numbers at the end, if you didn't notice it, you should try to be skimming and previewing my username, instead of blocking me right away in time. -- ChronicleBooks885 (talk) 16:14, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You need to select a new username. Adding three digits does not eliminate the username violation. Cullen328 (talk) 16:26, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Article quality and watchers

[edit]

Most article Talk pages have a rating: Stub, Start, C, B, Good article, Featured article. For any article, click on View History and then Page views. The latter will show to the right how many editors have chosen to 'watch' the article, meaning every time they log in, there are notices for recent edits. David notMD (talk) 02:18, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@David notMD But what are Stub, Start, C, B, Good article, Featured articles? Should this edit be notified for a quick reason? -- ChronicleBooks885 (talk) 15:34, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You had asked about article quality at Teahouse? If yes, see Wikipedia:Content assessment. David notMD (talk) 08:00, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:Fort Visitor Across per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Fort Visitor Across. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
