Hi Clicsouris,

I was wondering if you could help me. I'm doing some research for a Discovery Channel programme about the engineering and history of Paris, and I am very interested in the construction of the Paris Metro.

I came across a fantastic image that you uploaded of subway construction at place de l'Opéra and was wondering where you scanned the original image from? I am asking because this is the kind of image we would like to use in our show, and if it is indeed public domain, then it is easy for us to use it - I have come across many similar images which are copyrighted by sites like http://www.roger-viollet.fr/ or http://www.parisenimages.fr/, so I would like to make sure!

Also, it would be great to know if there are any other images of the Metro system being constructed - we are especially interested in what is known as 'cut-and-cover', where the street is excavated, subway tunnels are constructed, then the street is paved over (as opposed to traditional tunnelling/boring).

If you can help at all, that would be great!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Euan
