Poker terms

[edit]

Hi Compdude47. Thanks for the contributions to the poker articles, but I wanted to point you to a line at the top of the Glossary article: ADDITIONS THAT ARE JUST SLANG FOR A MORE COMMON TERM USED IN ARTICLES WILL BE REMOVED. One of Wikipedia's core principles is it is not a dictionary. The only terms that should be in the glossary are official-ish ones that we would use in creating Wikipedia articles. For example, we would say someone "won" or was "awarded" a pot, not that it was "shipped" to the player. Part of the reason Wikipedia is not a dictionary is because the Wikimedia Foundation also has a dictionary, Wiktionary. Here is the poker category for that. Feel free to add non-offical and slang terms there. Happy editing. 2005 (talk) 01:17, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
