A tag has been placed on Surya jhunjhnuwala requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. February 2016

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Rebbing. I noticed that you recently removed some content from List of hotels in Singapore without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. —  Rebbing  talk  03:58, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rebbing, I will update the edit summary accordingly thanks! The items I've removed are schools and not hotels. Crux83 (talk) 04:06, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I thought it was a bit strange having schools on the list: good catch. However, your edit removes several hotels in addition to schools: for example, the Pasir Panjang Inn and Santa Grand Hotel, both of which appear to be real hotels. But, as I know little about Singapore, I have no further quarrel with your edit.
Also, please be aware that your edit summary is misleading (and therefore against policy) because it implies you're only removing schools from the list when you're actually doing quite a bit more than that. But, again, I won't be reverting it. Cheers and thanks and welcome! —  Rebbing  talk  04:28, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If the edit summary is long, will it be a problem too? I will read edit summary in detail and run through the list again. There are some which are closed or under renovations. There are a few that seem off in the residential areas. Appreciate it!Crux83 (talk) 04:32, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, that makes sense. And nope: edit summaries can be up to 255 characters long (give or take a little), which is plenty long enough. If you make several types of changes in a single edit, it's best to list the most important first, for example: "Removed paragraph about X; added information about Y; fixed a spelling mistakes." Even an unclear edit summary (e.g., "Updated the list") is better than a misleading one. Cheers! —  Rebbing  talk  05:42, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Naumi Liora

[edit]

Hello Crux83,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Naumi Liora for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Catmando999 Check out his talk page! 05:32, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Some advice

[edit]

I have emailed you a copy of the deleted article you requested.

As you are finding, Wikipedia is quite selective about subjects for articles. It does not set out to be a business listing directory or to have articles about every hotel that exists. The inclusion test, called Wikipedia:Notability, looks for references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Listings in hotel guides and sites like TripAdvisor are unlikely to be considered significant, and anything based on press releases is not independent.

If you are connected with Naumi hotels, or with any of the subjects you write about, you have a WP:Conflict of interest and should read that page and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. You will see that you should not edit directly about any subject where you have a COI, but may make suggestions on article talk pages, or submit drafts vie WP:Articles for creation, for review by an uninvolved user. Also, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use ("Paid contributions without disclosure" under section 4) to disclose your interest in any edits where you have a COI.

WP:WikiProject Hotels is a group of users interested in the subject, where you may be able to get help and advice. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 15:55, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi JohnCD, I have submitted my article again through AFC. It is currently in a queue pending review. I've added more references as advised by reviewers. Please help me have a glance and let me know if there is anything else I should do. Crux83 (talk) 18:41, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
