Your map

Hey, thanks for making this map [[1]]. It looks really good on the page. I just wanted to point out: it might give readers wrong impressions about Dvals and Kists. With regard to both, the different coloring might give the incorrect impression taht they were independent from Georgia, which they weren't. They were (and still are, in the case of the Kists) ethnic minorities living within the Georgian realm. Also, to put hte Kists on a map also including Malkhicho is a little incorrect, as the Malkh disappeared a millenium before the Kists first migrated South (unless you're referring to Kists in the Medieval Georgian usage, which didn't refer to the modern people in Georgia but just to Vainakh people in general). I would suggest you color the Dval area the same as Georgia but maybe with a dashed line or something, and remove the Kists. --Yalens (talk) 18:03, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Yes I know that it might do so, but I am updating the map, I will create more clear borders around the colors, so people can get a better view of where the people actually lived.

As to Malkh people, their state was destroyed by the Mongols, so this map is set before the Mongol invasions.

And for the Kists, they have always lived in Georgia (most likely) though some migration and immigration by other Vainakh might have happened.

I'm pretty sure hte Kists migrated in the 18th/19th centuries (that's why their language isn't significantly distinct from their northern neighbors), tons of sources say this ans whatnot. It's true that Nakh peoples had previously inhabited the area, such as Tsova-Tush... but these are distinct from Kists, at least in the modern sense of the word. --Yalens (talk) 01:08, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

Really? I remember watching this documentary about them . As well as reading about them later on about that they have always been in the area.

A lot of sources mention their 19th century migration. For example, here " Today,

most of the inhabitants of the Pankisi region are descendants of ethnic Chechens and Ingush (who together share the common ethnonym ìVainakhî) who migrated into the region from the North Caucasus between 1830 and 1870. Called "Kists" in Georgian, they are typically bilingual in Chechen and Georgian and number approximately 5,000" (http://iseees.berkeley.edu/bps/publications/2002_03-kurt.pdf). I think the confusion is probably because, as you noted, sometimes the word Kists can be used to mean other Nakh peoples (i.e. like Bats) historically in Georgian.--Yalens (talk) 19:36, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

Very well then. I will change the name to Bats for the area for the next update. I will most likely be adding in more areas around and I will split up Georgia into more people, as well as Alania, though there will be a clear line showing that these countries will be united and show which people and is independent and not.
