Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to 2010 Olympic Village appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edits need to be changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 21:26, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Derekchang85, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 22:07, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected Copyvio on Olympics 2010 page

[edit]

2010 Olympic Village (history · last edit). Another editor already located some material as being copyrighted, AFAIK it was removed; others will now check your work, which is also loaded with WP:Original research, WP:POV, WP:SOAP. Please review these as well as become mindful of other Wikipedia rules & guidelines.Skookum1 (talk) 01:52, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DerekChang, you are NOT allowed to remove that template, only an admin can do that. If you want this resolved quickly, purge all materials you've boilerplated from print or websources and then discuss the matter at Wikipedia talk:Copyright issues or see WP:Copyvio for procedure. Much of your edits are still subject to review/reversal because of their soapbox/POV flavour, but copyright infringement is high-priority for Wikipedia and is not to be taken lightly.Skookum1 (talk) 11:23, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You received these suggestions because we're trying a little test to see if SuggestBot is helpful for newer Wikipedia editors -- but normally it only makes suggestions for people who ask for them explicitly on the SuggestBot request page. We won't post suggestions on your talk page again unless you ask for them. SuggestBot was created by ForteTuba--please let him know if you like it, or if you don't, or you feel that it was a good or bad idea to make these suggestions to you as a newer Wikipedia user.

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, by following links from them to other articles and by matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians to find things you might be interested in. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work, such as stub articles that need to be made longer, cleanup articles that need writing help, and so on. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping. -- SuggestBot (talk) 04:20, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2010 Olympic Village

[edit]

A user has raised a concern about a potential copyright violation on the 2010 Olympic Village page, a page which you have recently edited substantially. I have started a conversation on the talk page regarding the matter and it would be helpful to have some additional information from you to help improve the article. The discussion can be found here.
