- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

[edit]Hello, I'm Arjayay. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to BBC News presentation have been undone because they did not appear constructive. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Mr. Bean. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 10:34, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
- @DMacksI'm sorry for this. I'll do my best not to do this again in the future. Please remove this restriction on me. Dimpleawasthi4 (talk) 05:07, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Dimpleawasthi4. No worries...there are no special restrictions on you. Just please be careful in the future. DMacks (talk) 05:25, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, thanks for fixing the grammar errors on the page, but you also broke two of the references by "correcting" the parameter names (yes, they are technically grammatically incorrect, but that's how the programmers named things, so we'll have to stick with it). I have fixed those for you; see my two partial reverts: 1, 2. Please take care not to accidentally change template parameters and other keywords when making sweeping copyedits in the future.
Also, your change to the short description started with a lower-case letter and with a "the", while the guidelines require short descriptions to be capitalised and not start with initial articles. However, I think your new short description was better than the old one, so I just fixed the formatting issues. Liu1126 (talk) 17:51, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
