Session 1 - Questions

[edit]

Thank you @DreamRimmer for accepting me as your trainee and for being my trainer. I have a few questions after reading the NPP tutorial guide.

Question 1: Even though it's clear that a draft has a COI or UPE, is it necessary to warn (by using Twinkle) the editor before tagging it for unambiguous promotion under G11?

Question 2: If a page has been nominated for AFD in the past and reappears in the NPP feed, can we bypass WP:6MONTHS and nominate it for AFD again?

Question 3: If an editor creates an article in one language wiki and later uses a translation tool to translate it into an English wiki page, do they need to attribute themselves?

Question 4: "CSD:G5 A page created before the ban or block was imposed or after it was lifted will not qualify under this criterion. This excludes pages created in violation of general sanctions." How can we determine if a page was created in violation of general sanctions, especially if it appears in the NPP feed? Charlie (talk) 03:05, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’m here to help with any doubts and answer all your questions. But first, please edit the main training page and add explanations in your own words. For example, Part 1 covers notability, so try giving your take on those points. – DreamRimmer (talk) 03:35, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I understand now. I will finish part 1 first. Charlie (talk) 04:08, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DreamRimmer just completed part 1. Charlie (talk) 04:02, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@CharlieMehta, take your time finishing the other parts. I'll take a look when I get a chance. – DreamRimmer (talk) 13:00, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Charlie (talk) 01:54, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DreamRimmer I am mostly done with the mandatory sections of all the parts. Charlie (talk) 11:01, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Upcoming expiry of my patroller rights

[edit]

Dear @DreamRimmer, I have been informed that my "patroller" rights are set to expire on 2024-09-11 at 00:00:00. I will need to renew them at WP:PERM unless you provide feedback or decide to extend my training. If you believe I am not ready, I won’t pursue renewal. Please let me know your thoughts. Charlie (talk) 13:21, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

CharlieMehta, apologies for being busy over the past few days and not noticing it. Your training isn't complete yet. I'll review your answers tomorrow and provide you with some more questions. It's up to you whether you want to renew your NPR now or wait until the training is complete. – DreamRimmer (talk) 14:41, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DreamRimmer You have the final say. I will seek renewal for two or three more month. And unless I receive your approval, I won’t request permanent patroller rights. Thank you for helping me. Charlie (talk) 15:20, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest waiting until you complete the training. After that, you can make your request based on what works best for you. – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:27, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Of course. Thanks for the suggestion. Charlie (talk) 16:11, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @DreamRimmer, I wanted to inform you that my NPP rights have expired today, so I won't be able to test any suggestions or complete future assignments that may require the AFCH helper script. However, I will do my best to answer any questions on this traineeship page based on my readings and understanding. If you have any advice on how I can contribute further in this situation, I would greatly appreciate it. Charlie (talk) 12:10, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@CharlieMehta, I am currently working on a new tool. I will add a few questions in the next couple of hours. – DreamRimmer (talk) 13:09, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
CharlieMehta, please check training page. – DreamRimmer (talk) 10:59, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DreamRimmer I have just finished the first assignment, which involved working on two pages suggested by you. Charlie (talk) 14:10, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
