Proposed deletion of List of automobile model nameplates with a discontiguous timeline

[edit]

The article List of automobile model nameplates with a discontiguous timeline has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

So? Companies have a certain brand or subbrand name, use it, drop it, reuse it afterwards. This happens with cars, cultural series, ... Sometimes coincidence (BMW 328 and the like), sometimes for commercial reasons (Alfa 8C), but it is nothing exceptional or even remarkabale as a group. There are whole brands which disappear and are revived (like Bentley or Maybach), never mind model nameplates. That there e.g. wasn't a Nissan Z for one year (2001) is hardly a notable fact (outside the Nissan Z article). A list of a common true but rather commonplace fact among notable subjects is not a notable list.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
