Barnstar

[edit]

Hey Elkman, I did not mean to hurt your feelings in the discussion about New Rochelle. Your opinion is very welcome although it differs from mine. Maybe after things have cooled down a little you can bring up good reasons in this argument. It is all about finding a solution to the problem, not about fighting, not about winning. If we fight, we all lose. We are all working on the same project and we all want to improve Wikipedia. There might be differences about how to do that exactly but if controversial opinions meet they need to be discussed without hurting anyone personally. There are always two sides to every story. We need to listen and consider the other side.

I award you this barnstar to remind you and me and everyone else that there will always be controversy. It is meant as a symbol of controversial opinions that can live next to each other, if we want to. Having different opinions is not a bad thing in itself, it might bring us forward if we deal with it the right way. The two halves, left and right, are separated but they combine to one and that's the key point. You are interested in wrestling, as I understand. How boring would wrestling be with just one guy? It needs two to be fun, but they need to cooperate to some degree. Because if they try to really hurt each other badly, it would not work out well for both of them ...

I'm not into wrestling. I only brought that up because of my spectacular failure in moderating a dispute at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional Wrestling two months ago. I just happened to find that dispute and I got involved in it, instead of minding my own business. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 22:16, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I understand, sorry I mentioned it. Take care, anyway, doxTxob \ talk 22:42, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
