Hello, My name is Erika L. and I am a student at Cal State Northridge. I am currently taking PAS 324, and I will soon be working with a group of students in a Wikipedia Page. :)

Patricia Bell-Scott

Dr. Bell-Scott or Patricia Bell-Scott (born Patricia Bell on December 20, 1950) is an American Writer, editor, and Professor at the University of Georgia. She grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she lived and was raised by her mother and step-father (Dorothy and Luis Wilbanks), and her brother and sister (Lewis and Brenda). Currently lives in Athens, Georgia and is married to Charles Vernon Underwood, Jr.

Patricia Bell-Scott is currently married to Charles Vernon Underwood Jr., an information technology planning Manager at Tennessee Valley Authority.

Patricia Bell-Scott is well known for many of her contribution editorials on many books, as well as her work on African American Women, as professor emerita of Women’s Studies and Family Development. At the University of Georgia she teaches an undergraduate course on Women in the Family and Society, and a graduate seminar on Black Women’s Auto/Biographical Writing and Women’s Developmental Issues. Without exception, she has been a great defender of Family Studies, African American Studies, and Qomen’s Studies

Dr. Bell-Scott was the contributing editor to Ms. Magazine, and the founding editor of All the Women Are White, All the Blacks Are Men, But Some of Us Are Brave: Black Women’ Studies and co-founded and co-edited SAGE: A Scholarly Journal on Black Women from 1984-94. She was also involved in the founding of the National Women’s Studies Association.
