Speedy deletion declined: Daniel Zappelli

[edit]

Hello Furfurel. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Daniel Zappelli, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: this is not a page which serves no purpose but to disparage, threaten, intimidate, or harass its subject. Consider WP:AFD. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 21:55, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

[edit]

Thank you for declaring your interest as a representative of Mr Zappelli, and for not editing the article directly, but explaining your concerns on the talk page. That is absolutely the correct approach.

As reviewing administrator, I have declined your speedy-deletion nomination, because WP:CSD#G10 is only for pages which "disparage, threaten, intimidate, or harass their subject or some other entity, and serve no other purpose", and I do not consider that this is such a page.

There is another route by which you can request deletion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, which would start a discussion, normally lasting seven days, at the end of which an uninvolved administrator would decide what to do, basing the decision not on a count of heads but on the strength of the arguments in terms of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you would like to nominate the page in this way, I will be happy to do the bureaucratic red-tape concerned with starting the discussion, if you provide a reasonably brief summary of your concerns, which can refer to the more extended material on the article talk page. You can reply below this message.

It will be helpful for you to establish your identity by emailing info-en-q@wikimedia.org as described at Wikipedia:Contact us - Subjects.

There is useful advice for people in your situation at WP:Biographies of living persons/Help. I will also post a message at the WP:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard, which will draw the attention of users with experience in this area. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:11, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear JohnCD thank you very much for your messages, actions, advice and help. I already sent an email to info-en-q@wikimedia.org regarding the speedy deletion request at the time I posted it on the talk page of the Daniel Zappelli article. I did not establish my identity in this email, shall I do it? If so what kind of information is needed and for what purpose? (this is not clear to me sorry) Thank you again for your commitment Furfurel (talk) 08:35, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The best way is to email from an address which is in some way verifiably associated with Mr Zappelli. If that is not possible, I don't know; ask in your email what verification they would like. If you have had a reply giving a "ticket number", quote that in any other emails; if not, give enough detail for your message to be associated with the previous one, as there are a number of volunteers dealing with those emails. Thanks, will do. Furfurel (talk) 09:49, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
