Your edits on Abacus Consulting

[edit]

On Abacus Consulting, you have been making unsourced and potentially libellous edits. Wikipedia requires articles to be written with reference to reliable sources. Court records are not something that can be cited in articles without having a third-party independent source to put them into perspective. I'd suggest strongly that you do not add this material back to the article without a source. —Tom Morris (talk) 16:11, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I hear what you're saying and am well aware of the rules for citing information and also on leaglities involved with libel. Libel is defined as "to purposeful lie about someone", correct me if I am wrong. I haven't lied about the company being sued in California for breach of contract and IP matters and also about the company going into an unconditional settlement with the party who sued this company. Wikipedia is a source of information for millions of people around the world and if there is any information "verifiable" on the web, should it not be put on wikipedia. What can be more verifiable by a court order available on the United States of America's county court's website.

More importantly the company doesn't have "2500" employees, it doesn't have 12 offices outside of Pakistan and it doesn't have over 250 clients annually. That is factually absolutely incorrect, misleading and fraudulent information, which the company management is using to market itself as a organization of a particular size with a particular number of employees. Wikipedia is being used as a marketing billboard to extend the company's untruthful marketing campaign. How would you want me to add factual information to this wikipedia page so that the real position of the company is depicted here rather than a figment of the company management's imagination. Besides if a company has been convicted of an offence and the court order is available on the internet on the court's own website, I wonder why that can't be cited and information from a third world country's newspaper interview story of the owner of the company can be cited. Newspaper stories in the developing world are only that....newspaper stories, there factual position remains doubtful until the story comes from a reliable newspaper, even more so if the information comes from international sources of repute.

I saw several "untruthful facts" on the page and tried to edit them, so that your readers get factual information. Just as myself being a regular visitor on wikipedia would expect from wiki to provide factual information on its website, as I use wikipedia as the first source of information on many issues when I need to get information about things.

I would consider it a pity that the company just puts absolute lies on wikipedia in order to further its marketing efforts and if someone out there knows these numbers to be untrue, yet that someone remains silent.

Also importantly, it may be very pertinent to point out that most of the citations on the Abacus Consulting page are from their own company website. Thus by the argument that you have given me and I quote " Court records are not something that can be cited in articles without having a third-party independent source to put them into perspective" neither should a company's own website be the source of a citation, especially for companies operating out of developing countries where Intellectual Property rights are either non-existant or seldom followed. There are multiple instances on the Abacus Consulting website where they cite information from their own website, please check the references part to confirm. I hope a correction to this article would be made keeping in view this premise of citing the company's own website to provide misleading information leading readers to believe that the company is larger in size and revenue than it actually is. Only third party independent information regarding the company's number of employees, number of offices, its being one of the largest in South Asia and the largest in the country, with offices in 12 countries etc etc should then be allowed on this page. As all this information is cited directly to the company's website, which is by no means a third party independent source.

Please keep in mind that as a regular reader of wikipedia I expect the wikipedia admin to ensure provision of only factual/ independently verifiable information on this page.

cheers.
