Explanation of why User:Hushquid, your "userpage", was deleted under the "WP:U5" reason for speedy deletion

@Hushquid, Fastily, Asilvering, and Minorax: Hello Hushquid. The short version is that you have only used your userpage to write about yourself without any indication of why an article about a musician of the name "Hushquid" or "Aigbonoga Osilama Afeez Brigh" meets the requirements for inclusion as a Wikipedia article. Hushquid, it's perfectly reasonable to write a bit about yourself on your userpage. But it's not a good idea to try to write an article about yourself. Are you planning to contribute to Wikipedia? -- asilvering (talk) 15:07, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Go ahead and say something like "Hi! I'm Hushquid, and I'm a singer from Nigeria." You can even say more than that, if you like. But the point of Wikipedia is to write an encyclopedia. If you're not doing that, we're not interested in what you have to say about yourself. If what you have to say about yourself is self-promotional, we really aren't interested in that, and we'll delete it. -- asilvering (talk) 19:58, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

You can write a bit about yourself as a Wikipedia editor. But talking a lot about what you do outside Wikipedia, linking to any personal webpages, or promoting yourself or your business - those are not allowed. AntiDionysius (talk) 17:38, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
