to Indian from Heather Smith

It's pretty obvious that you don't like criticism. I'm talking about the "American Pie" article and the fact that you seem to promote Madonna's rendition on the same website as Don McClean. The "talk" section is for people from the outside to express their concern over Wikipedia articles. If Wikipedia, or you, doesn't like that, then stop asking for donations. I've donated to Wikipedia and as such, I feel free to comment in the talk area. If you want to block me, because I said Madonna's rendition of American Pie is "piss-poor" which it is and that you don't listen to people, which is also true, then feel free. I'm not an editor and I don't have any formal ties to Wikipedia. However, I do have power of the pocketbook and when Wikipedia goes "a-begging" again, I'll be sure not to donate and let I'll let Wikipedia know that it was YOU who is responsible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.119.151.233 (talk) 07:02, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Can you please change the photo on Lady Gaga's page?

Yeah, could you please change her picture to something more flattering? I'm new to wikipedia, but I know that there has to be a picture that fits the wikipedia guidelines where she isn't making a face like that. Also, I apologize if I'm not formatting this right or anything.

Are her bracelets not that important? The JPEG one easily shows the bracelets (especially on her left hand), while PNG does not. That's trivial? --George Ho (talk) 07:26, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Trivial. Also, before I forget @George Ho:, keep an eye out for the user who has added the cover arts, most possibly a sock. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 07:38, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Jessie J

Hi, I saw you have been working on Jessie J's new single "Bang Bang", I'm a huge fan of hers, so I would like to ask you if you could keep an eye on the US charts, like the Billboard Hot 100, so if this song enter that chart you could be able to update it on this song's article. Waiting for your answer in my talk page. Thanks for helping. JD3rulo (talk) 09:33, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. The article Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga for things which need to be addressed. Thank you for a barnstar

Hi. Thanks for the barnstar :) I must tell I had no idea that Mariah Carey articles are so full of false information. And it's not the case of incorrect source - the vast majority of these peaks and certifications never happened and were never sourced. I like Mariah Carey, got all her albums and wish her all the best. I must also continue to work on Celine Dion articles because they need to be updated and formatted, but it takes so much time :) However my current love is Lady Gaga - can't wait for her jazz album :) But she's got many people editing her pages. All the best for You from Poland :) -- Max24 (talk) 13:03, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

@Max24:, I wish you well in your endeavors with Celine. She is grossly overlooked imo. And yeah, sadly those false Carey certifications are the work of disruptive User:Fidelove. I don't know why he/she is not banned yet. As for Gaga, I'm not that excited about the jazz album yet, Gaga says a lot of words these days but hardly can live up to the expectations. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 11:36, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Perform this Way

I see your point, but it doesn't seem quite clear. Perhaps we could use Chart Position, such as that in Whatever You Like ("Weird Al" Yankovic song)? Thanks. Origamite\(·_·\)(/·_·)/ 05:16, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

@Origamite: ideally we should delete it altogether. A single chart entry does not need a table to be represented per MOS for tables and lists, prose alone suffices. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 05:18, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

The Complete Studio Albums (1983 – 2008)

I know why you reverted me. The template you use (or maybe the way you use it) is not compliant with the MOS. I meant to leave this article alone, clearly I slipped up. You should ask for the template to be fixed. Regards, Mr Stephen (talk) 10:23, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

@Mr Stephen:, the template is working fine in this case. It is the url of the website the template generates that does not use the en-dash in their url naming convention, hence we cannot use en-dash in the template also. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 11:49, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
It's no big deal—really—but in the part that the reader sees, the horizontal line in the date range should be an en-dash. The external website might not cope with an en-dash, so the template should generate different output for the two different purposes. Regards, Mr Stephen (talk) 13:29, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Read the edit summary carefully. If URL is missing you cannot use "type = " parameter, you have to add URL or you have to change "type = " to "type=". Such citations are problematic and they automatically goes to this category → Category:Pages using citations with format and no URL. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 07:26, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

@OccultZone:, read my summary also, your addition is causing the whole cite to break, because of duplicate formats being present. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 07:27, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Katy Perry discography

A little more diligence wouldn't go amiss in situations like the one present in Katy Perry discography. "This is How We Do" has clearly charted at #58 on the UK Singles Chart. The OCC even says so here. Just because they neglect to include it in their artist chart history section, doesn't mean you should revert edits including it about half a dozen times. The OCC may be the official source of UK charts, but they can take up to 3 months to update their discog section. The discog section shouldn't be the be all and end all in situations like this, when their own website contradicts their own database. Alejandro (song)

Hi, Thanks for catching this. The reason was the template {{Certification Table Entry}} had been changed by someone and was introducing hundreds of image errors. Most only need to be reformatted from "award=2x Gold" to "award=Gold|Number=2" for example. Then I came to this one, and decided after the change, as 'Million' was also not a recognised award, to go fix the sub-template here. I meant to go back and change back that edit you found but forgot - oops! So thanks for catching! The original template was then changed back after the discussion here reverted the original issue anyway. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 08:35, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Shake it off, hands off. It is a single.

Hello, IndianBio. I realised that at "Shake It Off (Taylor Swift song)", you reverted my edits, indicating that it is not a separate single. It is, as iTunes has the single. [1] - Source, so I hope you understand.

It can have a separate entry in iTunes, all remixes, covers and live performances of an original song have a separate url. That does not make it a separate single. It was not sent for any radio adds or anything. Its just the same song with a bunch of artists added. Same as "Set Fire to the Rain" (live), "Do What U Want" (feat Christina) etc. And if you want to list it as a single, prove it per WP:BURDEN. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 06:50, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

@CambridgeBayWeather:, my apologies if I made mistake with the semi-protection log. I did think I saw semi-prot on the article. Hi @SeyitA:, you are typing English quite well as I can see. Nevertheless, both Born This Way and Artpop are no where close to being a GA. They will take time, and I do not like these albums that much. I love Lady Gaga's The Fame and The Fame Monster very much. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 10:53, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

There is lots of clutter on Born This Way, and I probably would've failed it if submitted for GAN in its current state. Artpop I will take to GAN myself at some point, but not now- it's not exactly stable with an ongoing RfC. Other bits could also use work. Snuggums (talk / edits) 12:30, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

The user who did most of the work in getting The Fame and The Fame Monster articles up to GA was Legolas2186, an avid Little Monster and Madonna fan from India who founded WP:GAGA. He got Madge up to FA in June 2010, but it got demoted two years later after Binksternet discovered in February 2012 that many sources Legolas used in articles were fake. User:Mitsguy2001

As you may have noticed, I left a warning about the concept of COI on this user's talk page. I know the user doesn't mean harm, but how likely would you say if is that he has a COI when it comes to KP? In addition to removing critics calling her content sexual, he also removed info on her family's money struggles and didn't even provide counter-sources. I probably would've already reported him to COIN, but instructions say to first try to resolve issues on talk pages and such. Snuggums (talk / edits) 15:57, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

@SNUGGUMS: I believe that if the user reverts once more, we raise this concern to the talk page and ask his/her opinion. If he/she does not bother to respond, we would understand that it is a matter of COI, and revert the disruptions. Further such incidents, we would report the user for violating policies. And I'm not exactly sure about the harm part, COI users are always pretty stern. Look at that CharlieJS socks. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 16:08, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

As I explained on the Talk page, I do not have a COI regarding Katy Perry. I am a fan of hers, but I recognize that she is very far from perfect. I have not tried to remove reference to sexual content in her songs, since some (not most) of her songs do have sexual content. But it is simply not true that her songs are about sex between teenagers. Mitsguy2001 (talk) 06:18, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
@Mitsguy2001:, I'm simply not at all interested in listening to what you think of Perry's songs are about. So please provide reliable sources thinking otherwise, else the whole discussion is moot. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 06:20, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
There is no way that anybody with even a passing familiarity with the English language can say that her songs are about sex between teenagers! Mitsguy2001 (talk) 06:22, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

australian-charts.com source clearly states updated chart position

Hello,
I'm not sure what you are looking at, but the source website clearly states: "Title: This Is How We Do; Entry: 17/08/2014; Peak: 23; Weeks: 3". http://australian-charts.com/showinterpret.asp?interpret=Katy+Perry
Please stop undoing and/or reverting my edits or threatening to report me before checking the source carefully. Thank you for your cooperation.
Usfun8991 11:19, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

@Usfun8991: that was not what I reverted, and when you added that peak, Hung Medien had not updated it. Don't try to act smart. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 11:22, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
First of all, that is what you reverted, and I quote: 07:04, 25 August 2014 (Reverted 1 edit by Usfun8991 (talk): Not until hung medien updates.)
When I first added '23' to the page on Saturday before Hung Medien had updated. You were right to undo me. So I waited until it had updated (which was yesterday, Monday) and you reverted it again when the source had clearly updated already. Now today I find that you have reverted me a third time a day after the source has been updated, so I think you're the one acting smart right now. Usfun8991 11:33, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
So, you did not have the onus to check the source before you reverted me huh? Your edit summary cleraly states that you have no clue whether it was updated or not. Next time do not do such edits. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 11:35, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
For your information, if you are questioning my "pretty sure" quote, I just was trying to be polite. As a matter of fact I did check the source before I updated it, and you have no proof that I didn't. Please do not throw around accusations like that. And if you had checked the source yourself you wouldn't have reverted me back. Next time I will make sure the source is updated before I update the Wikipedia page, but you should check the source as well before you undo correct edits. Also, my edit would not be classified as 'original research' if I have retrieved the information from the official ARIA Charts website. Thank you very much. Usfun8991 11:52, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Request

Hey IndianBio. Thank you for your criticism. I take it very seriously. The article has undergone a major copyedit and the last PR said the prose was a problem, which it is not now. GA review said that some sections were not cited and citations missed informations. I personally mended all citations and cited sections which were previously uncited. So, that makes the prose and the sourcing OK. So, i request you to help me out if you can on where i can improve the article and review it yourself then. Basically i'm asking you to help me make it a GA because i dont know why its being failed every time even though i have seen many articles which are not even remotely good but are passed. That makes me confused about where this is lacking. Help me if you can because i will be gone for a few months on 31st aug and will not be able to pay attention. Thanking You. @Wikiboy2364:, your first major problem is not sourcing. The article is sourced but it is the formatting of these sources that need attention. At a cursory glance I could see that sources lacked accessdate parameter, then some website names were italicized etc. These issues need to be resolved. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 11:05, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
Even worse, some were bare URL's. Snuggums (talk / edits) 11:19, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
That cannot be. You can see in the references that every source has a url access date. I mended all 120 sources myself. Can you give me an example of a source without url access date? There is not even one bare url. As for italicization, Author of books cited as sources and other things like Illinois University or Wall Street Journal are italicized by themselves. That's a standard for WP render, Nothing i can do with that. Wikiboy2364 (talk) 11:24, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
I should've been more specific- I found bare URL's when I first looked over the article. Snuggums (talk / edits) 11:26, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
@Wikiboy2364:, you are not getting it. Check Ref #1 to 10, most of them do not have the "work" parameter, and the ones that have it, have it italicized. Also, just the website name like In.finance.yahoo.com won't do, you need to replace such instances by Yahoo! like this. The dates need to be formatted properly, since this is an Indian article we use British english, so instead of 2014-08-27 or August 27, 2014, you need to use 27 August 2014. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 12:10, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

I shortened the table and included only notable, the most important performances (awards shows, charity concerts like Live Aid and a few others). My table includes the same shows as the table in your edit, maybe a few more, but my table is (in my opinion) prettier. I think that the table in your edit is quite chaotic. I also added dates and cities, where those performances were held. Eduardow10 (talk) 17:22, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

@Eduardow10:, thanks for responding back. The thing is, you are using flag icons and such which is not supposed to be included. Please remove them. I admit that the table could be "cluttery", but we are not trying to achieve pretty here. We are trying to achieve a profesional looking article, and since this is a featured list, we cannot accept country flags and such. You are welcome to put back the table, but keep only professional and utmost needed columns and format them per WP:ACCESS. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 17:28, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
I understand, thank you! Eduardow10 (talk) 17:31, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
