Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, International Editor Shah, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Tim Shell (entrepreneur), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Theroadislong (talk) 12:09, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tim Shell (entrepreneur) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Theroadislong (talk) 12:09, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tim Shell exists as a redirect to Bomis, and that seems to be sufficient coverage of this person. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tim Shell (3rd nomination) for the most recent deletion debate (it does not seem that he has become significantly more notable since then). I have deleted your article. Happy editing, —Kusma (t·c) 12:46, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Wikipedia's notability guidelines requires the subject of an article to be notable in its own right, not just to be connected to some other notable subject. Thus, for example, the fact that one is the father of a notable person is not enough. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:27, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Repost of Wasi Shah

[edit]

Information icon A tag has been placed on Wasi Shah requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:11, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Orphan

[edit]

I see that at Akhtar Ali Ghulam Kazi you removed an "orphan" tag, with the edit summary "This article is not an orphan". However, yo must have made some mistake, as I have checked, and there are no links to it from any other articles at all. A tag has been placed on File:Taufiq Rafat.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shahrukh Khan Ki Maut requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Your draft article, User:Saranglq/sandbox

[edit]

Hello, International Editor Shah. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "sandbox".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Onel5969 TT me 13:52, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Shahrukh Khan Ki Maut

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Ali Abbas (actor) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Replaceable fair use File:Hasnain Mirza with his father.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hasnain Mirza with his father.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:08, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Hasnain Mirza with his father.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hasnain Mirza with his father.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:08, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Riffat Aapa Ki Bahuein has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. WWGB (talk) 12:56, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Riffat Aapa Ki Bahuein

[edit]

The article Riffat Aapa Ki Bahuein has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

CSD A3 inapplicable as infobox is present and CSD A1 is inapplicable as it is possible to determine that this is a television show. Article was created as an infobox only a week ago and no additional content has been added during the week. Notability doubtful at best, even if content was present. Since there is no content outside the infobox, not worth bothering with this.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I apologize if I am incorrect, but g7 will not apply if you add some references in this article. I am adding some tags of unreferenced. Please don't remove that tag until you find a suitable reference from google. Acually, Hum TV has never distributed the drama with name Janam Jali. It was never released in 2016, you can even search from google. You look like a senior editor so I request you to please don't create Hoax with adding such article. Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

TheRedPenOfDoom

[edit]

Hi there, re: this

  1. Watch the personal attacks.
  2. I never got the sense TRPOD was Indian, so I doubt he would understand your insult unless he Googled it.
  3. TheRedPenOfDoom hasn't edited at Wikipedia in a year and a half, which means your frustrated complaint is falling on deaf ears.
  4. It's super-weird to be upset about something that happened a year and a half ago, and that weirdness really has me interested, so now I'm gonna poke my nose deep into this!
  5. TRPOD didn't delete Wasi Shah. Only administrators can delete articles. TRPOD was not an administrator. He PRODed it, but the prod was removed by Hullaballoo Wolfowitz. Being angry at TRPOD for the article deletion is totally irrational.
  6. The article as of 28 August 2015 was in really bad shape. It comprised about 5 sentences and did nothing to establish notability. Most of the references were blogs, faceless websites and social networking sites.
  7. The article as of 4 December 2015 was just ridiculous. It was an unsourced grammatical nightmare and contained absurd fluff like "Wasi shah is a multi talented personality." "He write many admirable poems" "Wasi got married in 2001, it was a love marriage." "He also showed his skills"...
  8. There were also two AfDs held on the subject:Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wasi Shah and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Syed Wasi Shah. The result of both was that the article should be deleted for failure to establish notability.

So, basically, various versions of the article have always been messy and insufficient for inclusion. Not sure why you're upset about this so long after the fact. Well actually that's not true, I do have an inkling that you're upset because this article was written about you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:50, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No. That wasn't about me. Actually as seeing him best writer in many projects, I decided to make his wikipedia page. Thank you for replying but my actual name is not 'Wasi Shah'. But no problem, I will make or even he will become more famous. --International Editor Shah (talk) 12:43, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It still doesn't explain why, a year-and-a-half after the fact, you thought it necessary to drum up old conflicts. That doesn't sound rational to me. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:15, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but I was really not told that fact International Editor Shah (talk) 15:38, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand your response. Also, see point #3 and #4 above, where I comment on the bizarre timing of your pot-stirring. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:03, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If I have told the fact that Fatima Khan and Kibra Khan are sisters in real life and also Ahmad Ali Butt is her real brother-in-law, then why have you blocked me?

Decline reason:

You are blocked for adding unsourced content. It is your responsibility to provide a reliable citation for any information you add. See WP:CITE and WP:RS. As your unblock request does not address this, I am declining your unblock request. Yamla (talk) 18:22, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Shah, your casual attitude toward sourcing, specifically here, where you take a 'meh, I'll source it later' attitude is not appropriate. Per WP:BURDEN when you are challenged for a source, you need to bring one the next time you restore the disputed content, not kick the matter down the road to deal with later. Wikipedia has WP:NODEADLINE, so we're not under any pressure to be 100% accurate 100% of the time, and we don't run a "facts first, sourcing later" operation here. Shah, if you submit pointless unblock requests like this, you are very quickly going to irritate the community. "My account was blocked only because I took revenge from User:Ponyo because he had blocked me in innocence." Firstly, you were blocked for violating policy by repeatedly submitting unsourced content. So that was a legitimate block. Secondly, we do not take "revenge" on other editors at Wikipedia. Period. Wikipedia is not for everybody. It's a community project that can be very frustrating to a certain type of editor, particularly to editors who are prone to getting angry. I don't know if that describes you, but if so, you basically have two options: Improve your behavior or find another hobby. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:50, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive behaviour. It appears you are purposefully harassing another editor. Wikipedia aims to provide a safe environment for its collaborators, and harassing other users, as you did on User talk:SpacemanSpiff, potentially compromises that safe environment. If you continue behaving like this, you may be blocked from editing. Warning for repeated harassment of users in good standing through posting totally frivolous user warnings, notices etc on their talk pages (see contributions), in spite of just coming off a one-week block for the exact same behaviour.Tom | Thomas.W talk 08:23, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

International Editor Shah (talk) 10:39, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You apologized, but didn't actually specify what you were apologizing for, other than "disruptive" behavior. Administrators need to know that you understand what specifically you did wrong, so that we can be sure you won't repeat the problem in the future. That's why we ask you to explain in detail. If an editor is blocked for copyright violations, but then apologizes for "disruptive behavior", administrators have no idea if that person knows what a copyright violation is, or even if they know how they violated our policies. So, that's a problem. However, the bigger issue here is that "International Editor Shah" is not your first account. You have other older ones, and as a matter of policy, we do not unblock secondary or "sockpuppet" accounts. You must request an unblock from your very first account. Oh, and I'm very happy in life, thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:42, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Uff! The people like you are people who cannot see others happiness. And that's the real reason why you have named your account Cyphoidbomb. Firstly, I thank User:Yunshui for giving me one more chance. Secondly stating that, I had been blocked from more than 6 months for my disruptive behavior and also blaming administrators for my own fault. I admit that I used to do that because as my further sockpuppets blocked, I realized my mistakes. Fortunately there was WP:SO which gave me one more chance of 6 months with 0 edits which I accepted. Now since more than 8 months have been passed, so I request that I have realized so much during this period. I will now constructively edit articles as said. I seek apologization from User:Cyphoidbomb, User:Ponyo and User:Spacemanspiff whom I had uselessly blamed in my angerness and I request the same (and other) administrators that if again disruption comes out from my account they are free and welcome to block me. Request reason:

I know I might never be unblocked but still can I be given one chance because I've completed my WP:SO? I've never been away so much from Wikipedia like these 6 months thus being more aware with the policies of Wikipedia and so, I want to come as more changed user than before.

Decline reason:

The last time you made an unblock request, you lied about your editing. Given your extensive history of sockpuppetry and block evasion, you are probably now considered banned rather than blocked under WP:3X, though this is not absolutely certain. Regardless, I'm unwilling at this time to even ask a checkuser to determine if you've been lying again, because there's not enough in this unblock request to justify considering it. You've been blocked for persistent unsourced additions, for disruptive editing, for sockpuppetry, for block evasion, and for lying about this. You'll need to account for your previous bad behaviour and convince us you'll never do any of that again, before we even start deciding whether to lift the block. You are welcome to make a new request which accounts for all of this. Note that such a request may end up being copied to WP:AN for discussion with the community. Therefore, please make sure your request is complete and compelling. It must fully address your previous bad behaviour. For example, saying "I won't do unsourced additions" isn't sufficient, we need to be convinced you understand what was wrong with your previous edits and specifically how your future edits would be different. You'll also need to explain why you previously said you had six months with 0 edits when this was an outright lie; this substantially damaged our trust in your word, which will make it far harder to obtain community consensus to lift your ban.
