Sex Pistols

[edit]

Hi. I hope you didn't mean to blank the page there. Please be careful. Also, "correcting" the genres of bands shouldn't really be done without first discussing in the bands' talk pages. Best wishes and let me know if you need any help. --Guinnog 14:21, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. -- Alf melmac 14:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:2991678828a3714408103b533188805ml.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:2991678828a3714408103b533188805ml.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:03, 2 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 22:03, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:My band2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:My band2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Hi

[edit]

Hi, I saw you on my watchlist, so I decided to say hi... I noticed you were editing the Panic! at the Disco pages... there's a WikiProject on them if you're interested. I noticed you're in a band... that's really cool! Drums are really cool... I'd like to play them myself, but I've got no space for them. Ah well, my heart lies with my guitar! Anyway, hope to see you around- CattleGirl talk | sign! 07:12, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Band Members

[edit]

Hello Jason. I have started a topic about Category:Band Members at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. As I've expressed there, I think that the category may be too broad to be useful, and that it does not fit in with our existing categorization schemes for musicians. I have recommended that we delete this category, but am interested to hear your views. The community will discuss the issue for the next five days before making a decision. I encourage you join the discussion, here. Thanks ×Meegs 13:56, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've done my best to answer your question on my talk page. Let me know if you have any more. ×Meegs 14:09, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I also wanted to chime in here, Jason. I know it can seem like people are targeting you, and that's tough to deal with. But please understand that everyone would like to see you help with categorization if that's what you want to do. People on the Wikipedia:Categories for discussion just want to make sure everything's held to the same formatting, structure, and utility. But if you take some time to learn the guidelines and participate in consensus, everyone will welcome your contributions. Thanks!--Mike Selinker 18:53, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Plz Help me!

hey... ur the only user who sent me a message which wasn't having a go at me... do u no how to get it so u can type in different things to get to a page? like Nathan Jonas Jordison leads to the same page as Joey Jordison? FromtheJasonater 22:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi! Sure, the thing you're talking about it redirects... when you edit a page you should see a toolbar above the edit window. On the toolbar is a button that looks like : #R . This is the redirect button. Click it and #REDIRECT [[Insert text]] will come up. Inside the 'insert text' box, write the page you want the page you're on to redirect to.
I hope that helps! Cheers- CattleGirl talk | sign! 23:08, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Number redirects

[edit]

Please stop creating number redirects to the Number article. Numbers get their own articles if there is something sufficiently worthwhile to say about them, but large strings of numbers are not suitable for standalone articles and redirects at these namespaces are rather pointless.--Isotope23 18:06, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The bands you mentioned on the talkpage meet the criteria for band articles here at Wikipedia (WP:MUSIC). "The Black Death" does not appear to meet that criteria and there was nothing in the article that even asserted that they meet that criteria. That is why it was deleted.--Isotope23 18:09, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Serebii.net, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks for uploading Image:Factorygbabattlefactory.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Thank you for your recent edit to Marilyn Manson (band). Your edit included one or more links to the page Gothic, which is a disambiguation page. This type of page is intended to direct users to more specific topics. Ordinarily we try to avoid creating links to disambiguation pages, since it is preferable to link directly to the specific topic relevant to the context. You can help Wikipedia by revising the links you added to Marilyn Manson (band) to refer directly to the most relevant topic. Repost of Crowz

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Crowz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Crowz is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Crowz saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. Proposed deletion of Archeon

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Archeon, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Band that has released one album, unclear notability.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 01:46, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Made of Hate requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hoponpop69 (talk) 06:30, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Made of Hate has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable band.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
