My RfA
[edit]My RfA recently closed and it was a success, passing at 84-02-00. I would like to thank you for taking the time to weigh in and on your subsequent support. And I know it's quite cliche, but if you ever need any assistance and/or want another opinion on something, grab a Pepsi and don't hesitate to drop me a line on my talk page. Thanks again. Thanks
[edit]Thanks for the message about the Star Wars Wikipedia thing. I will join. Once again, thank you for the welcome. Weirdy 09:17, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]My RfA | ||
Thank you for supporting/opposing/commenting on my request of adminship, sadly the result was 54/20/7 an thus only 73% support votes, resulting in that the nomination failed. As many of you commenting that I have to few main-space edits, I'll try to better my self on that part. If you have any ideas on what kind of articles I could edit, pleas send me a line. :) | →AzaToth

[edit]I agree; we need to start the marketing plan again either tonight or tomorrow. — Deckiller 23:30, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- Probably, it's coming along well (doing the prose a little by little in microsoft word. — Deckiller 03:29, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- I'm in a position of "power" in a fan club (Star Wars Unlimited Fan Club) and we're working on marketing plans and whatnot. Tomorrow, I might introduce some of the techniques and all, but I'm getting tired :) Any ideas on your end? — Deckiller 03:41, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

POV?
[edit]Please parlay previous ponderings- Personally, POV pushing present? Pshaw! RE4 previously purloined is paramount, Square pursuing Gamecube purchases? Pfaffly!
Nintendo 128 (disproven)
[edit]- Nintendo Page needs to mention more on the early operations of nintendo a perfect job for Jedi6 sorry for nintendo 128 codename mistake i found out that was a name only coined deep within nintendo
Nintendo
[edit]You certainly deserved the comments I placed on the Nintendo page. Wikipedia is a place that's (by and large) populated by a small number of good editors like you, and a massive influx of vandals and people hell-bent on placing "Wookies forever!" into random articles. Keep up the good work, Jedi6, and if you need any assistance with the Nintendo article again (if Jean Luc keeps up his reverts) let me know. Cheers- Daniel Davis 05:25, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
External Links in @sses
[edit]Since when did Wiki say we can't have our own external links...ofcourse we can!
We can add external links, but must explain what the link is...the link must not lead to virus or p0rn sites...if it does it will lead to banning!
You know...you better watch your @ss >:@
I understand you deleting the External Links, section. But even deleting the link to the website I created!? Even the links to the site I created weren't even under the section of External Links.
Now that is just really rude!
WikiProject
[edit]Sounds like a good idea. It will have to be really hyped and interesting to all people (I.E. some people will write prose, others will do research, others will copyedit, others will add pics, and so on.) We don't have to assign tasks, but we should really hype things up and go down the checklist. We may wanna wait until I bring the MoS into a wikipedia document (which is WAY behind schedule, I know, but it's getting close). — Deckiller 20:41, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- We have to stay away from articles like Palpatine. We have to pick an article that won't be the source of a lot of fancruft. I'd say we pick something like one of the video games. The video game articles (well, some of them) have too much gaming information, which isn't allowed on the site. — Deckiller 20:48, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- The movies would also work well.
- I've been thinking that, along the lines, we should create a series of "sub-projects" devoted to various tasks. Users strong in video games can be apart of a Star Wars Videogame subproject, which will have its own manual of style. We could also have a list subproject, which works on making sure the lists are concise, complete, logical/organized, and referenced. — Deckiller 20:53, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Which is exactly why subprojects may be necessary (I mean, look at Final Fantasy; it's a subdivision of WPCVG and it has a few subprojects). Also, I do agree about making sure that we have some active members continuing to edit, hence "along the lines". — Deckiller 20:59, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm not saying seperate projects. What I mean is that we'll have major subproject (but more like collaboration) points, such as lists and games. It's mainly for organizational purposes. Also, we don't really have to worry about quantity as much as quality; WPFF has a few core members, which is what we'll have to build first. It's like a buisness; there's various departments devoted to people's strengths (of course, people are involved in multiple departments in many cases). There are many ways we can do this. However, like you and me said before, we should definiately wait at least a month. — Deckiller 04:05, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- For clarification, this concept of subprojects was brought up as a future plan, when we have a large body of active members and the Todo list grows extremely large. This may never happen (though it's possible). — Deckiller 04:09, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, perhaps a video game section, movie section, lists section, and so on. We can talk with the others about how to present duties and categories, but perhaps we should focus on making sure our core group stays strong before taking care of that. — Deckiller 04:14, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]All set! — Deckiller 21:16, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Any registered user can move pages, I believe. — Deckiller 21:19, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, 25 edits to get away with the move. Any logged in user can move a page, though the 25 Edit Rule is often applied (and it should really be applied in this case). If he does it again, I'll give him a warning. — Deckiller 22:30, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
DaGizza's RfA

Subdivisions
[edit]Honestly, perhaps we don't even have to go by content. We can have a group of project members collaborate on lists, while another group collaborates on articles. Just a thought; I'll develop some more ideas once school ends in about 2 minutes :) — Deckiller 18:44, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Format
[edit]Sure, go ahead. It was really Sango who did the major formatting though :) — Deckiller 20:23, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]My Eyes- The Goggles do nothing!
[edit]User_talk:Pagrashtak#My_Eyes_Are_Open
Daniel Davis 03:19, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
In a nutshell
[edit]Pagrashtak and I had a disagreement over ESRB logos. 1. I posted a message about it, and soon after begin to get smashed repeatedly by attack IM (Yahoo and AIM) messages.
2. I thought they were from Pagrashtak so I posted some things I'm not proud of to the ESRB page...
3. But after some back-and-forthing (and a rather appropriate word of warning to me from several people), Pagrashtak and I discussed the issue and he told me that he hadn't been the one harassing me over the IM.
4. During this time Rick Browser begins to pop in (along with an anon IP that traces to Brazil4Linux) and post personal attacks on me here on Wikipedia- revealing that Rick Browser had been the one that was doing the goading this entire time.
Jedi, I'm not proud of my conduct regarding the ESRB article at all, but I think things are settled for the most part now. I've apologized to Pagrashtak about the whole thing, and now we know the identity of another Brazil4Linux sockpuppet.
So.. some good came of it. Daniel Davis 04:39, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Your RFA/my oppose vote
[edit]I normally look for at least 1300 edits, evenly spread out, but for half of your edits to have come in March is too... rushed, if anything. I'd prefer 1658 edits over two months (roughly 800 in each) than alll in one. Also, I nomally look for 10-15% project edits. NSLE (T+C) at 01:57 UTC (2006-04-03)
There once was a foulmouth'd opposing
[edit]Just thought you should know... the reason why Rick Browser is opposing you in your RFA is because he's a sock of Brazil4Linux. There's a CheckUser out on him right now; when it comes back Rick's vote will be erased, as banned users and sock puppets are prohibited from voting. Cheers! Daniel Davis 06:57, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hey. If your percentage doesn't get over 75 percent in the next day, I recommend withdrawing and waiting a couple of months. A lot of users think that the RfA nomination is a bit premature, but it's still possible to gain support on this one. — Deckiller 11:21, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Our RfAs

I will do my very best live up to this new responsibility and to serve the community, but please let me know if I make any mistakes or if you have any feedback at all on my actions. Phair
[edit]I've placed a section about Phair onto Wikipedia's Admin Noticeboard. Feel free to visit it and leave a comment. A user evading a block is one thing, attempting to use it to tamper with an RFA vote is another matter entirely. Daniel Davis 06:16, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- The problem with putting down another checkuser request is that they are very, very difficult for users to perform. There are literally less than five administrators that have the checkuser ability, and a checkuser action requires time and effort, according to Wikipedia Help.
- Given the nature of this new sockpuppet (the evidence and the lack of his posts), placing the notice on the Admin NoticeBoard is SUPPOSED to alert the admins to his activity, so they can take action. If nobody at the least responds to the request I've placed by tomorrow, I will have no choice but to put out another CheckUser request. Daniel Davis 23:24, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- I would've given you guys a greater hand in this matter, but I feel that I've already encorached into this issue so much that it might be best for more admins to get involved. — Deckiller 23:27, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- I appreciate what you've done Deckiller- it's just that, given how freaking long we've been fighting against B4L and his associated sockpuppets, it would be nice if the admins would at least say SOMETHING on the noticeboard page regarding Phair. Whether to agree or disagree is fine, but to completely ignore the section put up (especially since the sock is committing vote fraud) is disheartening. Daniel Davis 23:36, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Legacy of the Force
[edit]I though the titles are too ambiguous. For example, I've found a D&D book also named "Betrayal", and some others containing the same subtitles. I thought it's better named as "Legacy of the Force: Betrayal" to avoid confusion.--PatCheng 23:13, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- OK, what about moving from Title (book) to Title (novel), since all the other one-word SW books are named this way?--PatCheng 23:20, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

About the Tally Coloring
[edit]The reason why it's red is because it's under 75% (the baseline for acceptance, according to Wiki)- when it goes above 75%, the color should be green, letting you breathe a sigh of relief. The contested Phair vote might actually be enough (when removed) to bring your total up. Good luck, my friend. Daniel Davis 05:31, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

I've fell to the dark side in focusing my wiki-efforts to Wookieepedia lately instead. :( But I still have been checking here every day and making a few edits, just not as many. Current Score
[edit]73.68%, 28 yes and 10 nos at the moment. Just thought you might be interested in knowing. Daniel Davis 02:13, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- We might be looking at 9 nos, as one was by a sockpuppet. _-M
oP-_ 02:14, 6 April 2006 (UTC)- Two, actually- Both Phair and Rick Browser are sockpuppets of Brazil4Linux. Rick's already been stricken from the vote, but Phair's blurb on the Administrator's Noticeboard didn't get... noticed. Daniel Davis 02:16, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- So potentially 8 nos? That makes it above 75% if my innate supermathpowers are correct. _-M
oP-_ 02:18, 6 April 2006 (UTC)- Rick's vote was already stricken, so that makes 9- without Phair's no vote, Jedi goes up to 75.67%, which is a pass.
- Unless a Great Jedi Purge happens in the next few hours, I think we're looking at a new admin :). And excuse my lame geeky Star Wars humor. _-M

Morgan Webb is a host.
[edit]OK, let me tell you something. First of all, people correcting you isnt vandalism. Second of all, Morgan webb is the host of X-Play. A TV show consists of a host, and one or more co-hosts. On G4's website, it has a picture of her, and under her it says "MORGAN WEBB: host" and under adam's picture it says "ADAM SESSLER: co-host". Are you prepared to argue and go against G4, the producer of the show? give me a break. And you better not protect the page cause that isnt vandalism. Don't make me bring in re-inforcements to show you what I mean. PS. I know more about video games than you do because I make them. Wikipeedio 17:47, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, your RFA has reached 78%! I hope you make it, but if you don't I'm sure that since most of the complaints were due to "low" edit counts, after a month or so most neutral/opposers will vote for you. Questions
[edit]Hi! I hope I'm not bothering you, but I have some questions:
- Some people upload pictures from websites that aren't free and it's allowed. Do you know why?
- Second, what would be a good rationale for a picture?
Thanks! And again, I'm sorry if I'm bothering you. --71.105.1.23 00:42, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for answering! Oh yeah, I forgot another question:
- How many pictures does a good article require? --71.105.1.23 02:54, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Oh, I got another one!
- How many references, notes, and external links are required for a good article? Are 8 notes, 2 references, and one external link okay? --71.105.1.23 03:17, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

New sockpuppet
[edit]Do you think Wikipeedio is a sockpuppet? I noticed that he edited the Morgan Webb page and the nintendo pages in the past. That's a link. Moreover, the 100 edit rule applies here; he doesn't even have 100 edits, yet he's already tried to do an RfA and get involved in edit conflicts....— Deckiller 04:27, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- On the other hand, he may just be a user who does not understand the concept of what we're discussing yet. I'd say hold off on any checkuser request. — Deckiller 04:31, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Your support votes
[edit]It doesn't surprise me that your support percentage is increasing.
It's basically this- you are a good editor, you're fair and a lot of people respect you. Given your number of edits, the amount of individuals who are satisfied with the work that you do would naturally then be of a very high percentage. The opposing side, on the other hand, consists of a minority of individuals who either had a conflict they were at fault in (and blame you for), like Wikipeedio, or people who just don't know you.
We can assume, given your activity level on Wiki, that a great deal more people know you and your personality and habits, and thus are of class 1, as opposed to class 2. So, the longer that your RFA is open to voting, the more that it will continue to reflect that. Cheers! Daniel Davis 06:32, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
C&VG
[edit]I have changed the title to List of deaths attributed to computer or video games and would like to request that you take a look again at this nomination. The attributions are verified, including, in at least one case the deputy coroner. There is no policy against such lists, and it serves a useful purpose in identifying deaths that have, in fact, been attributed to c&vg by reputable source. Yours, For great justice. 06:53, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Your RfA
[edit]Jeebus, I dunno what happened, Doom127 just absolutely blew up on your RfA over a single letter pair translocation in one of my questions to you. Don't worry, nobody's going to hold it against you. --Cyde Weys 07:54, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- Because It's just a freaking JOKE to you, a joke, it's a god-damn joke and I made the mistake of taking the whole RFA seriously. Made up a percentage thing, tried to make sure the tally marks were good, and then (*#$ Cyde person foffles in with a completely stupid remark about red people, and essjay who is supposed to be the one in control of the RFA decides that it's all a joke too! I trusted that at least SOME part of Wikipedia would have a little bit of seriousness too it, but here comes an admin saying that everything is just a big god-damn game, well, I'm not gonna play it. Daniel Davis 07:57, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Sorry this had to happen Jedi6, Doom127 is gonna go take a 24 hour break right now. And I assure you, I do take RfA seriously, but that doesn't mean that it has to be entirely sterile and clinical without a taste of humor. My questions were designed to try to get a better glimpse at who you are. --Cyde Weys 08:01, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Jedi. I was kind of on the fence here anyway, so I wanted to see how this would pan out. So that's your response to a disagreement? Just blocking the guy? Interesting. Although I can't agree with it at all, so I'm changing my vote to Oppose as well. A 24 hour block over this seemed completely unwarranted. -- Jean Luc Picard
- You say a lot, but I havent seen you speak up against Cyde's behavior (which was reprehensible) at all- you have for what I can see stayed completely silent while doom was crucified by some rather rude people. Isn't he supposed to be your friend or something? - Jean Luc Picard
See here, it pretty much explains everything. In short, Doom, Jean Luc, and The Eye are all the same person using multiple accounts to attempt to game the system. He's been doing it for a month now, and he was caught and tripped up by a single one letter pair translocation in the word "rogue" :-p Cyde Weys 09:25, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
I have changed my vote
[edit]Sorry for overdoing the edit conflict. When I first opposed your adminship, I did it because I was in an angry mood and was sort of upset with you. But you do have a good history with Wikipedia, which is what I should be voting on. I have changed my vote to support your request for adminship. I have now read all the pages on Wikipedia and the "What wikipedia is not" article, and now understand all rules. I also have learned what Brazil4Linux was doing and all that. I'll probably start helping the anti-vandalism movement. Once again, sorry for overreacting, Wikipeedio 23:13, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

A big thanks for your contribution to my userpage
[edit]Not only is that metal dragon fantastic, but most importantly, it provides the initiative I need to get the userpage project going.
The username itself came from the Dungeons & Dragons monster Gold Dragon (since it can shapeshift and talks 100% of the time). However, I didn't have any clue as what to put on the userpage (I didn't like the D&D artwork), so this metal dragon and Doom127's complements take care of it. The rest of it should be coming through shortly....

Rfa help
[edit]Yes, I didn't think it would work. Thanks for your help anyway. Laurenceandrews 15:36, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Regarding comments you made at User talk:Laurenceandrews
[edit]You stated that nobody with less than 1,000 edits had succeeded at RfA [1]. This is not true. Since June 27, 2005 four people with less than 1,000 edits have had successful RfAs. They are NicholasTurnbull (767), Hermione1980 (913), Extreme Unction (932), Orioane (981). Granted, almost all below 1,000 fail, but just wanted to correct on that point; it's not an absolute. --Durin 17:05, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
You are now an admin!
[edit]Congratulations! I am informing you that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. Take this time to read relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks such as deletion, blocking, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other admins, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find this guide helpful. Welcome! Star Wars games
[edit]Yo, whats up Jedi6? Sorry about the article size, it may be me. Anyway, can SW WikiProject members edit SW games? I am currently working on the article, Star Wars: Obi-Wan, trying very hard to not throw Good Friday down the drain. So, can SW WP members edit and/or work on Star Wars Games? Leave a message on my talk page. Thanks. Weirdy 00:32, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Green day page protection
[edit]If you look thru the history of the article Green Day from edits made April 16 - April 18 (these are just a few, there has been much more in the past), there is a lot of vandalism going on, with people adding comments such as "Green day rox" and other random comments. One edit even replaced a whole section with a comment like "green day sucks" or something similar to that (the user was banned already). But could you semi-protect the page? Thanks, Wikipeedio 14:54, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
UPDATE: Here are some examples: Here, Here (look at the very last sentence of the edited section), and most importantly here. After you take a look at these, you can continue going to more recent revisions and you will find a user attempts to clear the article.
Nevermind, Deckiller took care of it. Wikipeedio 23:44, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, there is a page called When I Come Around, which is a Green Day song, and it was vandalised MANY TIMES before I took care of it. We should make a group of users to protect music pages. Weirdy 23:26, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

" Please make sure to keep messages on talk pages about the article itself and not the topic"
Yes, I am keeping the messages based on Wii. The thing is I even stayed on the topic, everything I posted is true. IGN didn't like the name, Gamespot didn't like the name. The topic is: Self Ownage!
Nintendo owned themselves and their cheap fans!:P
Now I am going to DS Article talk page, to post a owning message, PSP owned DS. The Gadget Show proves it!

RFA nomination
[edit]Thank you very much for your support. I really appreciate it, not because of the nomination itself, but because it is one of the many ways one can be recognized as a good wikipedian. However, I feel I am still not prepared for that task, mainly because of lack of time in days other than weekends. I also believe being an administrator includes several other tasks that I had not been lately (including voting in RFA and AFD, Wikipedia discussions, etc). I am sure you will find many other worthy users willing to be nominated, and hopefully you won't mind or be offended because of my declination. Thank you very much for your support, though! -- ReyBrujo 23:05, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
