Could you look at a couple items? While "In closed in 1951." and "The fist," are simple and obvious, another gotcha caught my eye. The following sentence confuses me:
"The famously anti-Catholic and naturist Whig Party was largely declining in Erie County, with the more tolerant Democratic and Republican Parties."
The way I naturally read that, it sounds like all three parties were 'declining'. Were you trying to say that the latter two were replacing the former? Perhaps "with the rise of"?

Ambassador Robert A. Mandell

[edit]

Hi there, I recently posted an edit request on the Robert A. Mandell article, seeking to update and improve it. Since you originally created the article in December 2015, you might be interested in having a look. My draft expands on Mr. Mandell's life, career, and ambassadorship, while cleaning up some existing content. If you look at the page now, you'll see an editor recently removed File:US Supreme_Court_Justices_in_Luxembourg.jpg, calling it "namedropping" in their edit summary. My draft includes that photo, as it appears appropriate to me. The reason I'm here asking you to review and consider implementing the edit request is because I am working on behalf of Mr. Mandell, as I've disclosed on the article's discussion page. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 13:07, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mission Hill, Boston, edits

[edit]

What you did is mostly correct, but I believe that the school WAS called the Sister's Convent and Grammar School, and some NEIGHBORS expressed their concerned with the building's height (and the character of another commercially-owned and operated residential high-rise building). So your assumptions were at once both reasonable but incorrect. Also, the Redemptorist priests are not typically businessmen; had they been more fiscally astute, residents believe, they could have found a 'financial instrument' to allow them to maintain control over these two 'medium-rise' (I think they are 'low-rise') buildings that had belonged to their neighborhood-based operation in this set. MaynardClark (talk) 21:35, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • @MaynardClark: Hey, I've been to the church - the convent is now closed and the grammar school's actual name is Mission Grammar School - so in that sentence it isn't a proper noun and doesn't warrant capitalization. Also, you can add "neighbors" for clarification if you want - all I did was change it from "This is a huge project and people are concerned" to "Some are concerned" - the original sentence showed signs of POV so I was just giving it more neutral wording. Peace, Jgefd (talk) 22:37, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I know that the convent and the high school and many of their operations have been downsized and are now closed. The Mission Grammar School on St. Alphonsus Street SEEMS to be run mostly by non-nuns. Some community events are held there, including the mont0hly Community Safety Meeting (e.k.a. Crime Watch). Pelandaba–Mpopoma moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Pelandaba–Mpopoma, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption.
