Sound files

[edit]

Sound files don't really work in article infoboxes, or with the normal image syntax. There's no link to the file description page that way, and they don't play for everyone. Instead, they need to be added using a template like {{listen}}. (And the taxobox are meant to be simple, with one or two images.) —innotata 23:58, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • fair point. I had debated whether to do it this way or not. But there was very few pages that had sound files already to use as a reference for how to do it. And one of the pages I ran into used this method. So I started doing it that way as well. I guess I shouldn't have just assumed that it was an accepted method before copying it. • also (and this is admittedly personal opinion), the {{listen}} template always ends up placed in a very suboptimal spot or makes the layout of the page look like crap. I wish there were a better option... Jnthnjng (talk) 02:48, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
