Orphaned non-free image (Image:Nick.com_Screenshot.PNG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nick.com_Screenshot.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Iamunknown 04:23, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Importance of articles

[edit]

How would one go about assessing the importance of articles in a certain WikiProject, such as WikiProject Nickelodeon? I'm just curious. Marcus2 (talk) 18:37, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

JuWiki2,

Would you be interested in trying to make your (proposed) WikiProject becoming a succes by actively involving yourself in a recruitment agency aimed at establishing an active base of participants for a WikiProject?--Daanschr 11:33, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Town & Country Village (Palo Alto)

[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Town & Country Village (Palo Alto), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. B. Wolterding 11:40, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello JuWiki, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Rstones5.jpg) was found at the following location: User:JuWiki/Sandbox. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 07:50, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Texas FM 1092.svg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Texas FM 1092.svg is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Texas FM 1092.svg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. A tag has been placed on Image:U.S. party affiliation.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:U.S. party affiliation.svg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Gary King (talk) 00:48, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Straight vs curly quotes

[edit]

The Wikipedia manual of style prescribes use of straight quotes over curly ones. Please do not replace the former with the latter. Ilkali (talk) 15:41, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:JuWiki2
Regarding "Reception", I saw your edit to the Battle of the Bands movie, and am wondering if you could help me do the same, with "Reception" on The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie article, which is currently being nominated through WP:GAN and a copy edit, by a user from the copy edit league.
Thanx!
