Hey, KurdoKardir. I wanted to offer you the link above, as you have been community banned and if you'd like to return to the site, I suggest you follow its steps for coming back. This isn't an intimidation tactic, threat or shutting you down; since you're trying to edit Kurdish cinema and I can tell you really want to be a part of Wikipedia, it's in your best interest to follow these steps. As you can see, I didn't roll back your edit, as I want you to have this opportunity to appeal your site ban. DÅRTHBØTTØ (TC) 18:51, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@ReaderofthePack: What are your thoughts on this approach? DÅRTHBØTTØ (TC) 18:53, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think that this should be discussed with a few of the admins that participated in the SPIs, specifically Widr (who blocked the main account) and Bbb23, who closed many of the SPIs. If any standard offer is to be extended there would need to be a very big show of faith on their part. At the very least they would have to explain what they did wrong, why they kept making sockpuppets - and why they aren't seeking an unblock under their main account, and also give a few examples of what they would edit other than Kurdish cinema. Given the amount of issues that surrounded those articles, a topic ban may be a requirement, if only until they can show that they are responsible enough to edit these articles. KurdoKardir, before you get angry from my recent edit, please note that I fixed a ton of red links that actually had articles and ironed out a lot of kinks, while keeping many of your additions. Unfortunately, I still had to do away with I Want to Live and The Swallow, as they're not noteworthy, but I still am making an attempt to work with you. Now, I believe you need to talk with @Widr, Bbb23, and ReaderofthePack:, to address why you should be allowed back onto Wikipedia and how you could approach this Standard Offer. Attempting to dodge around your ban to simply add "I Want to Live" won't fly, so you need to talk this out - if you wish to. DÅRTHBØTTØ (TC) 05:49, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've now been pinged twice and have no idea what anyone is talking about or why, absent the user, you folk are even having this conversation.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:48, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
After I posted the above message, I finally figured out what is going on based on DarthBotto's reopening of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/KurdoKardir naming Jwanohalo7830873 as a sock. What I don't understand is why DB seems to believe that KK wants to be unblocked; I see no indication of that. Without a request from the master, this is going nowhere, other than Jwanohalo7830873 being blocked as an obvious sock.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:34, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Bbb23: A few months back, after I reverted KurdoKardir's edit to Kurdish cinema, he raged at me and threatened my family. After I reported him, he apologized and asked for an attempt at cordial communication. I told him he would need to follow the proper steps to return to Wikipedia. Having seen him attempt to make that same edit to the page, I decided to attempt to open a dialogue with him right here. Though, I have come to realize I probably extended far too much faith and that this is a disposable account. Therefore, I have reported this account, so he may be encouraged to use proper channels. You're right; it was extremely presumptuous of me to try to discuss this with him here - I just tried to reopen our dialogue after his discussion with me months back. @DarthBotto: Thanks for the explanation, but I still need a bit more detail to understand what happened. What registered account or IP threatened your family, when, and where did you report it?--Bbb23 (talk) 18:01, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Bbb23: It was from 99.203.28.97 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), on my talk page, on October 4, 2020. KurdoKardir left messages calling me "retard", referred to me by my legal name, listed my profession and said that my family and I would pay for my revisions to Kurdish cinema over the years. I reported him to Wikipedia:EMERGENCY, after which he became increasingly civil.1. I left this message on their talk page, encouraging them to take the proper steps to be unbanned. I was disappointed to see that they had not complied with this new sock, which is why I nudged them here, to try to get them to follow through. I usually am a stickler with our banning policy, but I tried to make an exception through a show of good faith. Yet, you can only lead a horse to water... @DarthBotto: Those are very disturbing comments. I'm a bit surprised at the locations of that IP and some of the other IPs, but maybe the user moved.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:55, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Bbb23: You're right and I apologize for disturbing you with my naïve and backwards attempt at helping a misguided editor. I wanted to try a new approach, but I don't think they have much interest in contributing, aside from pushing that page for some reason. DÅRTHBØTTØ (TC) 20:39, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DarthBotto: Just to be clear, I meant that the IP's deleted comments were disturbing. In any event, there is no need to apologize.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:51, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Bbb23: Oh, I understood-- and I appreciate it. It was one for the books! DÅRTHBØTTØ (TC) 00:52, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
