Template:Episode list

Please note that there is no need to add anchors to episode entries using {{Episode list}}, as the template already provides for anchoring automatically. For example, to link to "The Race of His Life", just link to the value of the EpisodeNumber. In the case of "The Race of His Life", the correct syntax for the link is [[List of The Flash episodes#ep46]]. On a related note. {{visible anchor}}, as the name suggests, makes an anchor visible so, instead of {{anchor|The Race of His Life}} The Race of His Life, use {{visible anchor|The Race of His Life}}. --AussieLegend () 14:38, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

Kailash, please ban me fom this encyclopedia and tell krimuk90 to come and edit here i will not vandalize his userpage and talk page. he is professional editor i shouldnt have misbehaved with him please give krimuk90 his password his password is krimuk123. Mridul, you are already banned. Just try not to come back through a new account or IP address. As for Krimuk, coming back is his decision, which I do not want to force him into. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:52, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
Thank you Kailash for banning me from encyclopedia. Last question want to ask if a person is permanently site banned 10-15 years what will happen to his account?is his username will become unregistered and his edits will be deleted or something else?. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.197.140.43 (talk) 08:30, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
Nothing. Deleting your edits is all up to the admin to decide, but your account/IP address will remain unaffected, only you can't edit via it when it is blocked. Uplifting the block is also decided only by admins. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:36, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
Kailash last thing i want to ask can improve my general knowledge by reading wikipedia's articles. I am sure i am not banned for reading articles. I also want to ask that if want to contribute to this site after 10 years and will want to get unblocked through utrs after 10 years is it possible or not. Just a last query. Have watched Ms Dhoni the untold story. I watched it is awesome. Please watch it if you haven't. You won't get blocked for reading articles. You will only get unblocked if you provide a justifiable explanation to the admins. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:54, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Will you become an administrator?

Without TheRedPenOfDoom, Indian cinema spammers, and paid editors are becoming active. @Cyphoidbomb: knows about this problem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.39.36.202 (talkcontribs)

I wish I could, but all of a sudden my interest in managing modern Indian cinema articles is declining due to the futility of my actions. I wish Wikipedia could one day become a more powerful encyclopedia like Britannica that is edited only by officially contracted people who get their information directly from interviewing experts in the fields. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:20, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
We certainly do need more administrators familiar with India and the myriad issues that surround Indian articles, but really what we need more of are strong editors who are reasonable, educated, calm, open-minded, and who participate in discussion. In addition to all the problematic paid editors and socks and all that crap, so many of the problems I deal with involve editors who remain silent rather than participate in discussion. I get that some people may not be confident with their English, but discussion is the only way to make oneself part of a community. And yeah, the Ricky thing really pissed me off. I'm not Indian. I monitor Indian film articles only because they are so in need of admin oversight. To lose an Indian admin is upsetting because it means more work and less oversight from people who are familiar with Indian subjects and familiar with problems that afflict Indian subjects. Major suckage. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:17, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

I thought the white border could stay as it appeared to be part of the poster. By putting the "remove border" tag, I was referring to the black border. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:21, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
Ok - hard to tell from that original where it ends - it's not black, it's a grey to black tint on top and left only, probably where someone added a box shadow then it got cropped - but I'm straightening the png version, so I'll add back the white - I'll leave the jpg for deletion, as one of them has to be deleted, and that's easiest, plus the png will be superior:- compare this version after the bot reduced the jpg: [1] with this current version of the png: [2] - blow them up to 200% in your browser to see the difference. -- Begoon 06:30, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

The Guardians (Gamora, Drax, Groot & Rocket) and Hawkeye are already confirmed for Avengers Infinity War!!

Why the hell you remove Hawkeye, Groot, Gamora, Rocket, & Drax, don't you see, Hawkeye is confirmed already, Jeremy Renner confirmed it 2 years ago he said he signed for Avengers: Infinity War and maybe Avengers 4 and a Hawkeye spin-off get your facts right, plus Vin Diesel confirmed the rest of the Guardians will appear in Avengers: Infinity War back in August this year. I hope you understand — Preceding unsigned comment added by EgyptianGamer (talkcontribs) 04:09, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

EgyptianGamer, Renner only said that he was signed on for a third Avengers film, which was before the announcement that Infinity War would be a two-part film (although this is no longer the case). Though Diesel confirmed that the Guardians would appear, he didn't say whether Saldana, Bautista and Cooper would be reprising the roles. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:30, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Then why did you remove Hawkeye & Groot then?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by EgyptianGamer (talkcontribs) 07:33, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Because it is unclear if Renner, when referring to Avengers 3, was meaning Infinity War Part 1 or Part 2. Though we now know that they are two distinct films, not one film split into two, Renner hasn't spoken since. So it is still unclear. Same with Groot. Renner in both Avengers 3 and 4.

You read the first source I added to the draft, but did you read the other one? It says that The Content Factory interviewed both and Michael Douglas. And Renner started with words. "I am excited to be doing Avengers 3 and 4 next year and I know it is going to be a giant cast…" CAJH (talk) 06:53, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

Or wait a second. Do you mean those words still don't mean that he will appear in both of them? So we still need more accurate words. CAJH (talk) 07:02, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
Nah, since he says "I am excited to be doing Avengers 3 and 4", it passes. You may re-add the content. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:04, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
Wait, should have talk with Favre1fan93 first? CAJH (talk) 07:25, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
I'll do it myself. CAJH (talk) 07:27, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
Because if Kevin Feige maintains final creative control over the MCU films and Geoff Johns (with Jon Berg) over the DCEU, it is Favre and co (consisting of Favre1fan93, TriiipleThreat, Adamstom.97 and Richiekim) on the MCU articles. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:31, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

archive.org

When the page we are looking for is not available, sometimes a notification pops up asking to click and option to save the page. When clicked, the page is saved and we can get the archive URL. However, this does not happen everytime. Most of the time it says the page is not available and there seems to be no way of saving that page. Do you know how the page could be saved so that the URL could be obtained and used in the References. Thank you and Happy Diwali --UKSharma3 06:40, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

Due to some kind of "robots.txt" issue at The Hindu, archive.org cannot automatically archive Hindu articles. But it is still possible for us to manually archive Hindu articles there using the "Save Page Now" feature (available here). WebCite cannot archive The Hindu at all (it could earlier, but that was before robots.txt came), while archive.is can archive any Hindu page, unaffected by robots.txt. Anyways, happy Diwali sir. I am celebrating it by being with relatives, rather than crackers. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:47, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

Query

This might be a little off topic for you but I was wondering if you could help me piece together the scenario around the Zeta-Jones' TFA. More importantly has Krimuk retired permanently? I am sorry I know this sounds so unprofessional but I was looking forward to the progress of Jessica Chastain's article and with Krimuk gone/unavailable, I seem to be lost. I completely understand if you don't wish to help me out here, thanks though! NumerounovedantTalk 20:42, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

As far as I know, Zeta Jones passed FAC, but numerous editors say it wrongfully passed due to the abundance of tabloid content. It seems he has permanently retired, and Chastain's article has failed due to his absence. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:09, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
That's terrible, I went through the discussions on the talk page, and the hostility were really discouraging. It's really disheartening to see Krimuk go, however, what happens to Chastain's article? Can someone pick up from where Krimuk left? Or does the article just wait for him to eventually come back to the encyclopaedia? NumerounovedantTalk 09:02, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
Anyone else may open a new FAC on Chastain, but I hope that the resolved comments from the earlier FAC will also count as improvements. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:09, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

Thirudan (film)

When I searched for Thirudan, a suggestion showed as Thirudan(film) (written without space). When I clicked on it, it redirects to Vijay Antony. There is a Tamil film titled Thirudan with Sivaji Ganesan and K. R. Vijaya in the lead roles and released in 1969. I do not know how to stop the redirect.UKSharma3 09:32, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

The Sivaji film has its own article, titled Thirudan. I have tagged the "Thirudan(film)" redirect for deletion since there is no other film with the same name, so I think that settles it. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:40, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Captain America: Civil War

On 3 November 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Captain America: Civil War, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Captain America: Civil War was originally going to feature the Madbomb storyline from the comics, where Captain America would fight other heroes who had been zombified? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Captain America: Civil War. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Captain America: Civil War), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Replacing the Narnia poster

If you were wondering, the reason as to why I replaced The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe poster is because, theatrical release images should always be displayed portrait unless a portrait version is not available. Alongside that, that particular image does not display on certain computing devices. Thanks for your cooperation. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 11:13, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Not a justifiable reason, Iftekharahmed96. The film is a British/American production (but primarily British), hence I put the UK poster which has the UK release date (also, posters of that country are typically landscape). See the Harry Potter and James Bond film articles, and the reasons why they have UK posters instead of American. This is in a similar situation. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:18, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review needs your help

Hi Kailash29792,

As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).

Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.

Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.

It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

I see; but each of those submissions were a part of the marketing campaign from the film, from the images to the trailer; so what exactly has to alter?--Bartallen2 (talk) 15:18, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

Bartallen2: If there is some significance and third-party reactions to those marketing campaigns, I think they would be considered usable here. But WP:FILMMARKETING says, "Do not merely identify and describe the content of customary marketing methods such as trailers, TV spots, radio ads, and posters. Instead, use reliable sources to provide useful commentary about a method, such as a trailer's intended effect or the audience's reported reaction to it." Kailash29792 (talk) 15:32, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
But what if almost everything on that section is simply to promote the movie and generate strong hype, albeit there isn't such a direct statement from those that had submitted them, i.e. James Mangold, 20th Century Fox etc. I mean look at Star_Wars:_The_Force_Awakens#Marketing, for example; I simply used a similar format to that.--Bartallen2 (talk) 15:50, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
I don't know. If ever the article is up for GA, all that will be questioned. Just ask User:Hotwiki, the omniscient watcher of all X-Men film-related articles. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:54, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

Drafts

Hi. Just wanted to cover this with you. When a draft exists (e.g. Draft:Invasion! (Arrowverse)), and there's been a discussion to move the article to the mainspace once press releases come out (e.g. User talk:AlexTheWhovian § Help with a draft, if interested), it's probably not the best idea to redirect the mainspace article (e.g Invasion! (Arrowverse)) beforehand; it's best to leave it as a redlink, so that we can instantly move the draft and not wave to wait for an admin to unnecessarily re-delete the redirect so that the move can go ahead (e.g. the request I put in six hours before this post). Just a heads up. Thanks. Alex|The|Whovian? 06:52, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

I get your point; if there is no mainspace article, the draft can easily be moved to the mainspace without increasing the workload of admins. But if some work is far away from beginning production and has already received significant media coverage (like the MCU films and serials), readers may search about them here. That is why we create redirects. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:58, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
Fair points. However, these works were far from the beginning of the production, and were only days away from having the article move to the mainspace. It's not necessarily the work load for the admins, it's being able to directly have the article moved, everything linked to it, and allow readers to immediately find the content as soon as it's available. What's done is done, of course, but this is just my view on it. Alex|The|Whovian? 07:10, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
Now that Invasion! has been moved to the mainspace, it has to fit somewhere in Template:Arrowverse. Where would that be? Kailash29792 (talk) 12:28, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
Already done; I've added it to the crossovers section. Alex|The|Whovian? 12:29, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Sattam En Kaiyil (1978)

@Kailash, please add plot to Sattam En Kaiyil.Aishte Haylesh 05:41, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm not always a "for hire" editor. Besides, if I had seen the film I would have added the plot. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:33, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Aakali Rajyam

Dear,Kailash, watch the film carefully in YouTube (watch please), you will be able to understand that the film is actually dubbed from 'Varumayin Niram Sivappu', you will notice that Pratap K. Pothen's voice , Dilip's voice, S. Ve. Shekher's voice and Oru Viral Krishna Rao's voice are fakes and Kamal Haasan character's father's role has been played by a Telugu actor, I mean some scenes were re-shot in this film like the 1999 film Kadhalar Dhinam and it's Hindi version Dil Hi Dil Mein. Your reference doesn't tell that 'Aakali Rajyam' is an independent film, Kamal Haasan's other films like Thoongaa Vanam (Cheekati Rajyam, which is a redirect page of the Tamil version), your 'The Hindu' page shows that both films were simultaneously shot, Raja Paarvai (which was dubbed into Telugu as Amavasya Chandrudu, though there is no page in Wiki), Unnaipol Oruvan (Eenadu, another redirect Wiki page). So I haven't done any wrong thing in the Aakali Rajyam page. Aishte Haylesh (talk to me) 13:12, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Alright then, you may redirect it again. But it won Kamal a Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu, even though dubbed films/partially reshot films are rarely awarded. Will it be worth adding to Varumayin Niram Sivappu? Kailash29792 (talk) 13:17, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
A.R. Rahman won award for Dil Hi Dil Mein which was actually the dubbed version of Kadhalar Dhinam. Aishte Haylesh (talk to me) 13:22, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
'both films were simultaneously shot' it doesn't mean that the Telugu version was independently made. You see the film Run, which was dubbed into Telugu where the character 'Mohan' was played by Vivek in the original Tamil version and by Sunil in the Telugu dubbed version. @আইশ্টে হায়লেশ:} VNS/AR is a genuine bilingual. Check the lip-sync of the actors; they speak Telugu. They had to use voice artists for the aforementioned actors because they were Tamils (who probably didn't know the language). And, it seems ARR did not win any major award for Dil Hi Dil Mein. @User:Vensatry, you are right. Thanks for correcting me. aishte haylesh (message) 16:56, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Tamil and Telugu confusion

@Kailash, I think the pages of Zara Si Zindagi, Varumayin Niram Sivappu and Aakali Rajyam should be repaired because in these three pages 'Aakali Rajyam' has been mentioned as dubbed. And I request you to watch Varumayin Niram Sivappu, please mention if scenes are same or different between this and 'Aakali Rajyam', though Kamal Haasan character's father is different, Kamal's Telugu voice is original, But I am not going to edit those articles again, it's your or Vensatry's duty. Thanks Ssven. I guess it's one of the few times I didn't defer the article to you for GA due to insufficient sources. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:36, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
Great piece of work! Vensatry (talk) 14:05, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
