flex-it page deleted

[edit]

Hi, just wonder why the flex-it page has been deleted on 4th January 2007. Is there any guidelines I missed to follow? Thanks! Danecsk 04:07, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Ohh, the times they are a changin'

[edit]

Hi :) Yes, it's quite surreal when I see edits I made when I was barely 16 years old. I remember when I first read about Wikipedia, they were like "it's amazing: you can really edit any page, even the Home Page!" (the Main Page was called "HomePage" then). For it to still be unprotected in 2002 was amazing, considering the traffic levels were picking up (though you could still quite reasonably view all anonymous edits, screening for vandalism, right up to 2003). - Mark 08:55, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ani

[edit]

Yeah, I realize that my issue never needed to go to ANI in the first place: "I think Fram is correct that continuing this discussion here is unbeneficial. It occurs to me in retrospect that I should have just gone to RFC instead, as this wasn't quite "administrator intervention" material. I was a bit distracted. My apologies to all for misdirected effort. — coelacan talk — 17:06, 2 February 2007 (UTC)" I'm trying to avoid replying there so that it will finally archive. — coelacan talk20:24, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

elgg entry

[edit]

Dear Teke, I'm dismayed to find the elgg page has been deleted. I'm a lecturer at a UK University and we use elgg as a free and open source web 2.0 app. It's central to the delivery of a module on the Use of Web 2.0 in Education. Please could it be reinstated as I was planning an assessment task for my students to contribute to this definition on wikipedia as part of the same module?Verylikeawhale 11:41, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page exists at Elgg (software). Teke (talk) 17:29, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like Cendyn saved a copy of the article that was deleted. I thought it best to alert you to the matter since you handled the situation earlier. --Ronz 20:31, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Historical Document of Sigma Nu Fraternity

[edit]

I am curious as to why a document that is historically accurate was deleted without any warning, what rule or law did i violate in posting the story of a chapter house of a National Fraturnity being that the article tells the story of a house that has lost many to wars and still serves this country. Please any responce would be welcomed Zach Leffel 20:41, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that your sprotect of article Maitland Middle School didn't work. It was vandalized by a couple of anon vandals . -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 22:34, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anna Nicole Smith

[edit]

Thank you for moving the page to a protected status which is understandable for vandalism reasons. I am shocked at how fast it occurs.--Ozgod 02:23, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anna Nicole

[edit]

Hey, no problem. I always find the one I want at Template:Protection templates. BTW, do you think she should be mentioned on the main page? It's the big headline on most news websites over here ([1], [2]). Khoikhoi 02:32, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. :-) Ok, cheers. Khoikhoi 02:36, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anna Nicole Smith protection change

[edit]

Is there a reason you removed the protection from Anna Nicole Smith just so you could add semi-protection? (see log) Can't full protection be changed to semi-protection in one action? -- tariqabjotu 01:40, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Abuse of Power Complaint

[edit]

This is an official complaint (not a personal attack) regarding your unjust blocking of me.

complaint is here Let this be a testament to your abuses of power for all to see. WikiTony 18:51, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As the "complaint" was really long I've taking the liberty of cutting it and posting a link instead to the complaint on the admin noticeboard. Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 20:32, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi... My wife Epousesquecido (talk · contribs · count) likes to write articles about historical american women. (see her user page for some she's worked on so far) You were the deleting admin on this article (the log says it's probable copyvio from a Primetime sock), which she is thinking would be a good next article. Can we chat sometime? I'd like to understand more about the article provenance. If there's any chance the article, or the daugerrotype illustration, isn't copyvio... maybe she can use some of it as a starting point but if not, it's good to know that she really will need to start from scratch. How did you decide it was, or were you just going off who created it first? There seem to have been a lot of other people editing it too... Catch me on IRC will ya? thanks! (or let me know here but I bet IRC will be faster) ++Lar: t/c 03:54, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for your thorough answer. I should move the thread all to one or the other place :) ++Lar: t/c 20:12, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Teke,

I've read the criteria for speedy deletion and conflict of interest pages, and I can understand why you deleted the Audiokinetic article as written. However, after reading the Corporate Notability page, I've realized how the article could be improved. I'd like to resubmit the article, this time including links to external publications describing the company. These would include interviews and reports done by Montreal newspapers and American video game and music industry publications. Would this be acceptable to you?
