In 2009, WikiProject Years developed a essay for the inclusion of events "recent year" articles.
Important policy discussions took place in January 2009 at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) and at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Years.

Re your sockpuepptry post
Sorry I haven't responded sooner, I was busy over the weekend with RL. Thanks very much for finding those accounts though - they needed to be blocked, and I'm certain that they are indeed all sockpuppets. As you've found out, doing vandalism patrol upsets some of the vandals when they get caught! Don't worry about that post on my talk page in response to your message - I think the other editor has misunderstood the situation. You were perfectly right to report those accounts, and you did a good job ;) All the best, EyeSerenetalk 12:20, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Archives
You know, you should really archive your talk page. I don't think there's a policy against deleting messages routinely but it is a lot easier on others when you save them in a special drawer. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 08:00, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Connection
Sorry, RF. My entire ISP's been dropping the ball recently. A lot of people near me are having connection problems, and so am I. I'm sorry I could not help you out. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 20:36, 7 February 2009 (UTC).

I'm of course referring to this great reward I hereby present you for your hard work fighting vandalism, notifying me of socks, and general hard work, RF. :-) You have certainly earned it. Keep it up! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 16:51, 15 February 2009 (UTC) |
Congratulations - well deserved ;) EyeSerenetalk 10:22, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Question
Hi Reliableforever, I saw you're a member of Wikproject South Carolina. I don't see much going on there and you're active so I thought I'd directly ask you to assess an article I'm working on: Robert Ford (politician). The importance for Wikiproject South Carolina is missing - it's probably low. Thanks! Hekerui (talk) 16:51, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
UAA
Hi Reliableforever. I have removed User:Nazimshe from WP:UAA as I am unconvinced that it is a blatant violation of username policy. Nazim is a fairly common name in certain parts of the world - the user's edits appear to be good faith and don't seem to be pushing any radical agenda. I'll keep an eye on them, but I don't feel that I can block them at this stage. Best wishes, Rje (talk) 15:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
I am removing your report of "Godslayer000". UAA is not for censoring completely tame references just because they have something to do with religion. Please try to be more tolerant of new users. rspεεr (talk) 09:17, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I reverted your speedy tags to the talkpage, since the content there was a warning, a non templated one, but a wholly correct one, based on that user's contribs. --Terrillja talk 06:07, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Friendly note regarding talk page messages
Hello. As a recent editor to User talk:71.192.181.211, I wanted to leave a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk pages. While we may prefer that comments be archived instead, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous editors like this one- from deleting messages or warnings from their own talk pages. The only kinds of talk page messages that cannot be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppet notices, or IP header templates (for unregistered editors). These exceptions only exist in order to keep a user from potentially gaming the system. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 20:29, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Thank you
Thanks for fixing that typo in the Robert Ford article. I'm a little embarrased that it was in the lead of all places - I've read the article too often and glanced over such an obvious thing! Best wishes Hekerui (talk) 23:32, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Update
Thanks for the patience RF. Looks like the ISP problems are over: I think I can resume editing as normal now. See my talk page for my replies. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 02:27, 14 March 2009 (UTC).
I have a possible contact line to the subject - will see if I can confirm the source of the recent edits and mediate. Nick Cooper (talk) 13:05, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
