TFA page edit

How the fuck did you edit this page? It's open only to admins! But don't take this as a curse please. Can you just do one more thing? Remove mention of "Mani" there, as he is not wiki linked or defined. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:52, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

I could edit it before it was on the main page. Today, only admins can. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 02:28, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Ash dubbing

Talking about Mani's film, Ash's voice in Raavanan was actiually dubbed by Rohini as per this source . — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 07:59, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

So the TOI source might have been wrong about that as well. Haha! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 08:50, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Raavanan released in June 2010, 2 months after the TOI source was published. I'd better not include the source in the film's wikipedia article. I'm planning to take that to FA as well as the Tamil version was a hit. Can't say the same for Raavan though. Not like Guru. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:31, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Hmm. I was highly disappointed with Raavan, as my expectations were sky high from a Mani Ratnam film. The cinematography was breathtaking and the music was great, but the film was a convoluted mess. Bachchan was miscast, and Vikram (though a great actor) was saddled with a poorly sketched role. I didn't think much of Rai either, who seemed content shrieking and yelling than giving Ragini some emotional context. Mani, himself was more interested in making a visually impressive film than tell her a coherent story. That from a director of such gems as Anjali, Roja, Iruvar was what made the film such a massive disappointment for me. From the few scenes I have seen of the Tamil version, Vikram seemed a much better fit in the villain role. I also enjoyed the Tamil song "Kattu Sirukki" much more than the "Ranjha Ranjha" version in Hindi. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 09:59, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Nice. Certainly Vikram was better as a villain, so much so that Tamilians are mimicking his acting in various local TV shows, check this one out (from 31:00 to 37:15), for example. What's your opinion of Prithviraj in the Tamil version? Ssven2 Speak 2 me 11:11, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Prithviraj has a good screen presence. I haven't seen the entire Tamil version of the film, so I can't pass judgement on his performance. The only film of his that I have seen in totality is Aiyyaa, a god-awful film, but to his credit he managed to hold his own in it. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 13:01, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Some of his films like Indian Rupee, Mozhi, Urumi and Celluloid are really good. Feel free to watch them when you have the time. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 13:17, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Sure. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 13:41, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Mani's films are technically far superior than most of the other mainstream filmmakers. However, I feel that he has lost his touch over the years. Like every other fan, hoping at least this one clicks this time around. :) Vensatry (ping) 14:13, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

I hope so too. I am obsessed with the music of OK Kanmani, and the trailer looks great, though I have to admit the plot sounds a bit been-there-done-that. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 14:28, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
The music really? Think you must have listened to the songs for over 100 times. :) Vensatry (ping) 07:09, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
Not really. Just a couple of times. Don't you like it? --Krimuk|90 (talk) 07:11, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
Not much, except for one or two. This is the scenario in TN. Vensatry (ping) 07:30, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
LOL!! What rubbish. Haha. I must be "mental" as well. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 07:32, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Now that's rude Vensatry. It is a truth that ARR is not repeating the success with the directors he worked with previously, (For ex, Lingaa vs Muthu & Padayappa), but i don't think OK Kanmani soundtrack wasn't that bad as written by the unreal times. If at all the film's plot resembles Alaipayuthey, then what may happen i don't know. The release timing is perfect however and since Uttama Villain is running through controversies, i believe Mr. Ratnam will be back if the film is watchable. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:54, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
I'm not saying that OK Kanmani looks bad. ARR, nowadays, is not able to recreate that 'magic' even while working under Mani, arguably the one who extracts the best out of Rahman all the time. Do you think this album one is on par with Roja, Thiruda Thiruda, Alaipayuthe, etc.,? If you take the last five years, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Rockstar, Kochadaiiyaan and Kaaviya Thalaivan might be a few exceptions. But then, these are not in the same league as his pre-2000 albums. As for Mani, he was never a creative genius, but a brilliant director. His idea of "rehashing" doesn't quite seem to work now, for almost decade. I also don't understand why he is so much obsessed with second-generation actors (as in the case of Karthik, Prabhu, Suriya, Abhishek Bachchan, Gautham Karthik and now Dulquer Salmaan). Vensatry (ping) 10:51, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
That amuses me too. He directed Akkineni Nagarjuna and wanted Ram Charan to act in OK Kanmani. Well, coming to Mr. Ratnam's content, he kept the story wafer-thin with a very leisure pace and long runtime (except for a very, very few films till date which give the impression of reading a diary or an autobiography). When i was watching Kadali, i was actually scratching my head mostly. Very little content and such a slow, dragging narration. OK Kanmani is said to have a runtime less than 140 minutes. Let me see what he has in store this time. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:15, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

ARK (Act of Rare Kindness)

I thought that Prashant's rare display of kindness towards you, through a barnstar, was worth keeping for postereity. But why don't you think so? Kailash29792 (talk) 08:24, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

I have dealt with that user before, and I know the kind of person he is. I have also read the heaps of abuses he has showered on me. He is the sole reason I time and again think of not editing again. Tell me, what is the point of trying to improve the encyclopedia when all you get in return are the worst kind of abusive messages? Anyway, I don't care for such fake displays of kindness from him, because in no way is that person capable of change. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 08:30, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
Because that is your perception. You need to change your perception about me. Anyway, I wish you all the best for your work on wikipedia.—Prashant 09:03, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
Please stop liking all my edits on DDD, Prashant! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:23, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
Dank Daan0001 commented on your talk page, "OMG! Result is out! Jealously is shown of this rat against Prashant. Mate, grow up! Just because he's improving Wikipedia articles better than you doesn't mean you need go down the line this cheap. But anyway I'm sure after this hopefully if you are BRAVE enough you will stop harassing other respectable wiki admin editors. That's all." I reverted it, perceiving it as an attack. Would you have reverted it anyway? Kailash29792 (talk) 01:46, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
I think you mean Daan0001. And of course I would. Prashant and Daan are like-minded people and can live happily ever after. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:48, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for alerting me of the typo; Dank is actually a respected editor who would never say such things. Kailash29792 (talk) 01:52, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
Absolutely. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:55, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Haider (film)

Will you just shut up. I haven't done it for the third time. User like you are so hasty and put up so much of hate for other users. What do you think of yourself? This is the second or third time you are showing hatred. I want other users also to intervene into this matter of merging or not. Invite them. I'll agree then only. I have already invited them. Comment there and don't threaten me. It will only get you blocked once again. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 05:50, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
I'm sharing my experience with you. I'm not threatening you. Who am I to threaten anyone. You have always disrespected my contributions on that page and few more pages rather than discussing on talk pages. I'm very observant Arjann (talk) 05:54, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Academy Award for Best Actress

Hi there,

I hope your doing okay. If possible, could you proofread Academy Award for Best Actress for featured list consideration? I would appreciate the help.

Also, I checked over your list. Good job, again.

Some serious business

I know you won't even try but, I would like to move ahead in life and here too. Let's forget our past problems and work on Parineeti Chopra. Now you can see, I'm here to literally contribute to the english wikipedia, I will be working hard to contribute more and more. What's say? (and please change your perception about me)—Prashant 13:14, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

That's a good speech Prashant. Well have you taken any therapy or tactics to reduce your agitation towards him? Unless you really make an achievement that could surprise him, I think his perception on you will remain unbudged. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:32, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
Actually, I don't have any problems with him. Well, the last time I was agitated because of that sock investigation. It was mine mistake that I fought with him for a silly reason (Awards and all). But, I respect his work on wikipedia.—Prashant 13:41, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
Kailash, don't you think the sun is rising from the west because this long feud is being attempted to end soon and also, you are indulging in something against which i warned you yesterday? A special apology to Krimuk for stalking this page. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:43, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
No, because the sun never rises from any direction; it is the Earth that revolves around it. And I am trying to support the reconciliation between Krimuk and Prashant. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:13, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
"Support" should come when Krimuk speaks against Prashant's views. Till then, any support shall be improper. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:11, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
Prashant I have warned you several times to NEVER post on my talk page again. So please, you and your bestie Daan can STOP OBSESSING OVER ME! I have no interest whatsoever in dealing with abusive fan boys such as you. I have given you ample opportunities in the past to improve your behavior, and have also tried to help you in several ways, as have others like Blofeld, but your behavior just keeps getting worse. Even if you speak nicely to me now, the moment I disagree with one of your fan boy edits on Chopra's films you will start your barrage of abuses again. Just go back and read the things you have said to me in the past. You should be ashamed of yourself. I have no interest in listening to your crap ever again, so GET A LIFE!!!! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:33, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
I knew that your reply would be this. But, please don't attack me saying Dan is a bestie and all. I don't even know him/her. I don't exchange words with him/her. It's just a co-incidence that he is also interested in Chopra's article that's it. Now, please refrain from making such remarks as your sock investigation is still hurting me. If you don't want to work then It's your call and I am no one to change it. I only wish you good things. Happy editing!—Prashant 04:29, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Arrangement of Best Director nominees in ceremony lists

Quick question. Do you think the winners and nominees for Best Director in each ceremony category should be arranged in alphabetical order by either person or film? Someone changed the order a few days ago.

--Birdienest81 (talk) 20:04, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Every other award list is arranged alphabetically, right? This one should be consistent with those. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 00:49, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Old Hindi films

Besides the big three — Mother India, Mughal-e-Azam and Sholay, what other old Hindi films do you think have the potential to make it to GA and FA? — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:01, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Potential based on it's current status or on it's popularity? --Krimuk|90 (talk) 09:09, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Both actually. Raj Kapoor films IMHO like Mera Naam Joker and Shree 420 can make it to FA and GA respectively. Bobby too has GA potential. Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:11, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, definitely. Raj Kapoor's earlier films such as Awara and Sangam are wonderful. I am a bit critical of his later works like Bobby, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Prem Rog etc. I feel those were quite sexist and unnecessarily exploitative of his leading ladies. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 09:17, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Forgot Awara there. Good selection. Other than his films, maybe Golmaal? — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:19, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Ah, Golmaal. Wonderful film. The charm of Hrishikesh Mukherjee is unparallelled. The film of his I love the most is Chupke Chupke. Always makes me feel good about life. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 09:23, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
To be honest, I watched its Tamil version Thillu Mullu first. Despite being a remake, TM has a flavour of its own. Golmaal was pretty good too. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:29, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
I didn't know Golmaal had a Tamil remake. But since it's Balachander, I'm sure it's good. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 09:32, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
What matters more is, it would be great to see an FA in every decade of Bollywood. Already, the 50's, 60's, 70's, 2000's and 2010's are complete. Jeff is trying to make DDLJ (90's) to FA status. Hope someone does the same with any 30's or 80's film. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:33, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: You forgot 40's. Chandralekha had a Hindi version. BTW, for 30's the best bet would be Alam Ara, I think. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:36, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
True. Apart from a Mr. India or perhaps a Maine Pyar Kiya, I don't think any Bollywood film of the 80s has a cult popularity as the films from other decades. The 80s, I think was quite a dark phase for commercial Hindi films. Though art-cinema from directors like Shyam Benegal and Govind Nihalani soared during that time. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 09:37, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
What about QSQT? Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:39, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
To a lesser extent, yeah, QSQT as well. Mostly for the music I think. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 09:41, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Any of you interested in Anand (1971)?♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:29, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Kailash and Ssven may be interested in that one. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 11:52, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
How can we forget Ek Duuje Ke Liye, Arth and Saagar while talking about cult films of the 80s. And yes Benegal and Nihalani were at their peak during the 80s. This was the golden age of Parallel Hindi cinema. Anyone willing to work on Ardh Satya? Vensatry (ping) 11:32, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, great films, but not as widely popular as the Sholays or MEAs, or HAHKs or DDLJs, right? Personally, I consider Arth and Ardh Satya to be far better cinema than the more popular ones combined. But that's just me. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 11:52, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Those films became popular mainly because of the stardom of the actors unlike art films where the director is the real hero. That's the case even down south. I see Arth as a "Middle cinema" as it fits into neither of the categories. Vensatry (ping) 12:22, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, and those were superb, without the traditional trappings of melodramatic commercial films of that era. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 00:50, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Yep, she looks stunning in this pic! Agreed :) Vensatry (ping) 17:48, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
I too do. A bold girl indeed. :) Well Vensatry, did you watch Uttama Villain? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 03:41, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
I am a bit ignorant on this, but can either of you tell me what the controversy on Uttama Villain is about? I really enjoyed Hassan's previous film Vishwaroopam, but I think the sequel is in a limbo. Any reason why? --Krimuk|90 (talk) 03:45, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
Three issues with Uttama Villain. First, a plagiarism charge for allegedly copying an image taken by French photographer Eric Lafforgue related to Theyyam art. Later, a case filed by VHP on the song(s) "Iraniyan Naadagam" (Tamil) / "Naa Rudhirapu Oka" (Telugu) for insulting Hindu gods and inability of clearing debts on May 1 being a bank holiday thus delaying the film's release in the last minute and the shows got cancelled. First one was dismissed as Theyyam was a 1000 year old Indian art. Second, it is common sense that Hiranyakashipu would speak wrong about Vishnu always (provided you are familiar with the epic of Narasimha). And for Viswaroopam 2, time should tell the answer. I am really waiting for Papanasam and its trailer impressed me a lot. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 03:55, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
I am on a break but I wish to state my opinion on Uttama Villain. It has everything one can expect from a Kamal film. The film is a bit dragging at places but it has some funny moments. The Balachander-Haasan conversations deserve a mention. The reason maybe why "Iraniyan Naadagam" had a controversy was maybe because Nasser, the antagonist, dresses up as Narasimha so as to show himself as the true hero of the play, inadvertently kills himself by striking himself with his claws, which were poisoned by Pooja Kumar, who is the kingdom's princess who wishes to dethrone Nasser. The concept of Narasimha killing himself (actually it is the antagonist) might have caused the controversy. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 04:24, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I see. Thanks for the info guys. The film has a limited release here, so I guess I'll watch it next weekend. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 05:36, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

@Pavanjandhyala: No, I'm yet to see UV. Just saw OK Kanmani and Kanchana 2 over the weekend. As for UV, a friend of mine (a die-hard Kamal fan) had posted something like this: "If u dunno how to admire Kamal then the movie is gonna be a sleeping pill 4 u." I don't think there are positive reviews for the film. Vensatry (ping) 13:03, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

@Vensatry: I watched its Telugu version with my friend yesterday. It was okay for me as i am comfortable with such endings but poor fellow, he couldn't digest the climax of the film which was this. If you watch the film, you shall understand. Don't assume anything else going by that poster. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:09, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
@Pavanjandhyala: Will watch it over the weekend Vensatry (ping) 17:33, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

Hamari Adhuri Kahani

And finally she has collaborated with Mahesh Bhatt. The trailer looks good. Didn't know that the story was inspired from Bhatt's parents! Vensatry (ping) 17:33, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

Yep, the trailer looks good albeit a bit too melodramatic for my liking. I have never been a fan of Mohit Suri's work though I hope some of Vidya and Rao's magic has rubbed off on him. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:24, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

I have nominated it for a GA. Please if you could review it.Yashthepunisher (talk) 11:23, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

I'll look into it over the weekend. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:51, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi Krimuk. Speaking of Salman, I wonder what will happen to PRDP. I was waiting for PRDP, because of the Barjatya-Khan combo, but suddenly, the verdict came. I feel happy and sorry for him at the same time because of his killing of an innocent man, but his 250 crore bail and 5-year sentence is a long one. What are your views on him, his case and PRDP. Maheshreddy2 (talk) 11:23, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

If you ask me, the judgement is too little too late. He committed a crime and he deserves to be punished for it. The fact that he is out on bail so soon, and the fact that his "supporters" have such a misguided opinion on his sentencing prove how little value we Indians have for justice. It's shameful how an A-lister can literally get away with murder. We must separate his craft from the person he his, and his iconic stardom should not clout our judgment on his personal deeds. As for PRDP, I think he has finished shooting for it already. And obviously, it will be a huge money spinner come Diwali whether he is in prison or not. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 04:05, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
If The Dark Knight and Furious 7 could gross so much in their actor's absence, then so will PRPD. But Salman, unlike those two actors, is still alive. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:27, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the interest in the list. It's quite subjective which films work for you and which don't, isn't it? But yes, for me Tere Naam and Dabangg rank among the better films that Khan chose to do in the 2000s and 2010s. That's why I gave them both 2½ stars. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 08:52, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your article Victuallers (talk) 00:02, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

I have added a quote in the Casting section of Drushyam. However i am facing a dilemma as to where to place it. Can you please advice me whether it has been correctly placed in the casting section or should have been place in the filming section. Your help is greatly appreciated in this issue. Thank you, Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:17, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

The quote from the actress named Esther? Yeah, its placement in the casting section looks quite alright to me. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:21, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Thank you Krimuk. A late reply, sorry for that. Well i'm trying to take this article to GA status which, if turns one, will complete my fourth hat-trick of GA successes. I am trying for it not because it would complete my fourth hat-trick but i want to out do the original, a classic in its own right, at least in this way before the Tamil and Hindi versions release. Soundtrack, Lead and Box office are left. Once i'm done, i shall approach you and please give suggestions to improve it further before nominating it for a GA. Sure thing. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:38, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
The raw copy is ready. Have a look and kindly mention your suggestions and changes required at the article's talk page. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:49, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
I'll post there this weekend. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 02:03, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Sure. Please do. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:05, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

A gentle reminder Pavanjandhyala (talk) 02:33, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

I'm down with the flu. I'll look into it when I feel better. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 12:12, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
Okay, please rest. Get well soon. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:11, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the comments today. Well, yes, i am very poor in picking the correct words and following grammar. I am working on it and i am sure i shall overcome my difficulties soon. All of them were correct. But one thing i would object is "on the 2nd of August in the morning". Is "the morning" really necessary in the larger scheme of things? — my answer would be, Yes! it is very important. Unless you watch the film, you cant understand why i would say "in the morning". Also, i could only provide the distributor share both in the lead as well as the infobox since there were no reliable sources revealing the gross figures. Nett figures were unavailable. Well, i am not eligible enough to speak further. Will meet you again after someone from GOCE completes the c/e. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:06, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

Well, if it's important then please stick to it. Nothing wrong in not being a native English speaker, I'm sure your native language skills are far more superior to mine, but since this is the English encylopedia, we have to be extra careful about these. Anyway, do ping me after the copy edit is done. Cheers! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:45, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
