A tag has been placed on Satpanth. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Satpanth., a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 18:03, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Satpanth., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Kutch kadwa patidar, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Fabrictramp(public) (talk) 03:04, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Have added reference and some more information. Thanks Kutchipatel (talk) 05:44, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First thing, the articles seemed identical, so I redirected one to the other, and for proper naming I moved that one to Kutch Kadva Patidar

Second, can you explain how this differs from Kadava Patidar? Aren't Kutch kadva patidar simply Kadava Patidar who are from Kutch? If so, why do we need another article? Since you are the main contributor I thought I'll ask you before suggesting removal. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 13:48, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for the redirection. It is correct that they are from Kutch so they are called Kutch Kadva Patidars. But since they have been migrated to Kutch, there is a huge difference between Kadva Patidars and Kutch Kadva Patidars with respect to traditions, sub religion in hindu, etc. Therefore, I would request you to keep these page separate as most of this communities are being identified as Kutch Kadva Patidars and not only Kadva Patidars. Thanks, Regards, Kutchipatel (talk) 14:30, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Very well, I'll take your word for it, and I edited the lead accordingly. However, I ask that you edit the page and make sure that it includes information specific to Kutch Kadva Patidars (KKP), and specifically establishes the difference between them and Kadva Patidars (KP). The origins section seems to start well, but then it moves to discuss Patidars (P) in general. I am not sure about the Saakh section, is this about KKP, KP or P? Also, if you don't add reliable sources, the page may be removed anyway. --Muhandes (talk) 14:50, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You got me curious about this, so I decided to try to help, but I find it hard to progress since the article really isn't written so well. Maybe together we can do something about it, I'll start in the begining.
  • "After the death of Imamshah Maharaj by the order of Sanakaka, (Leva Patidar) (Gadipati of Pirana Mandir)" - who is Imamshah Maharaj and why is this important? Who is Sanakaka and why did he order the death of Imamshah? What does "Leva Patidar" mean? what is a "Gadipati" and what is Pirana Mandir?
  • "Vela Patel & Nakar Patel came to Vagad region in Kutch. There they founded Shikara village, Velasar talav(small lake). Here they established a separate Satpanth Sanatan community." - I get from this that Vela Patel & Nakar Patel are the "founders" of KKP. I assume they are KP but this isn't mentioned, are they? Are they somehow related? Where were they before they came to Vagad? I assume this is different than Vagad which is in Rajasthan, not in Kutch. What is "Velasar talav", is it a small lake near the village Shikara? what is "Satpanth Sanatan"?
  • "... After they came in Kutch, their title was changed to Kadwa Patidar to Kutchhi Kadva Patidar." - What does "They" refer to, all KP in Kutch? Who changed the title? Or maybe this isn't a title, and the LKP in Kutch simply came to be known as KKP?

I hope this way we can try to make a decent article. --Muhandes (talk) 15:18, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks. I got your concerns and I will try to edit the same from reliable sources as early as possible. I will also clarify your doubts to make it a good article. Thanks Kutchipatel (talk) 13:25, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It has been over a month now. Are you going to address these issues? Otherwise I will have to suggest the article be removed. --Muhandes (talk) 21:34, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.. Sorry I was not available for this period due to some other work. I will look into this matter and edit this page as required. Thanks Kutchipatel (talk) 17:42, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I remind you that sources are needed. For example you just wrote that all Kutch kadwa patidar are Hindu and that most are Hindu Setpanth. This requires a source. --Muhandes (talk) 19:02, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some sources. I am updating the same as and when I am getting. Thanks Kutchipatel (talk) 14:22, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, Kutchipatel, but this has been taking very long, and so far the article does not manage to convince that Kutch Kadva Patidar are any different than other Kadva Patidar. In fact, they have the same kuldevi. Unless you provide A reliable source about the difference, I'm afraid I am going to suggest removal of the article.--Muhandes (talk) 16:35, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Kutch Kadva Patidar for deletion

[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Kutch Kadva Patidar, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kutch Kadva Patidar until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Muhandes (talk) 09:32, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Message

[edit]

Hi KutchiPatel,

this message is in regards to your recent edits to the Satpanth page. The page you keep editing is in fact for the Ismaili/Muslim Satpanth sect. It was originally created specifically for the Ismaili sect of Satpanth believers - that is, the followers of Satpanth who recite du'a and center their faith around the Panj Tan Pak.

Therefore, it is best if you attempt to create another wikipedia for the largely Hindu followers who also share the name of the faith, Satpanth. That way there will be no conflicts, and there will be two separate pages for "Satpanth". This will please those who consider themselves Ismaili and those who consider themselves Hindu. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrt9089 (talkcontribs) 20:51, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Satpanth appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. Mr. Stradivarius 17:50, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mr. Stradivarius, Ref to your above comments, I would like to inform you that Satpanth is followed by both Hindu and Muslim. Infact earliers edit was non-neutral as the same was only for Muslim. Where as in my edit, I have mentioned it is followed by both meaning that its non-neutral point of view. So, I request you to revert to my edit. Your comments are welcome. JUNE 5, 2011 Message to Kutchipatel

[edit]

Hi Kutchipatel, this is Mrt9089. I am messaging you to let you know that I am AGREEING with you, not arguing with you. The term "satpanth" is used by BOTH ismailis and hindus alike. However the page that you keep editting/abusing has actually been in existence for over 4 years, and it was created and maintained by ismaili users.

It is in your best interest to create another wiki page also entitled Satpanth, for the hindu users and viewers. I am also quite educated about the Hindu aspect of the Satpanth, and I will gladly help you build a new and accurate Hindu Satpanth article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrt9089 (talkcontribs) 22:24, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to be lurking here, I sorted the page by date as appropriate. I'd like to say that I support the idea to create an article "Hindu Satpanth", it seems to be a real notable subject. Just remember to keep it well sourced, and if you do, while I have zero understanding in the subject, I'd be happy to assist. Don't let it have the date of the article Kutch kadwa patidar which died out of lack of sources. I'd recommend to create it first at user space and only move it to main space when it is ready. --Muhandes (talk) 17:04, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
