Easiest way is to find someone else's pages and steal theirs; alternatively you can look for collections of templates. Also, do I know you? TallNapoleon (talk) 18:20, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stop 'N' Swop

[edit]

Thank you for creating the "Stop n' Swop‎" article. Unfortunately, an article on Stop 'N' Swop was already created, and the consensus was that it is not notable enough for a separate page. "Stop 'N' Swop" currently redirects to Banjo-Kazooie (series), which has a section on Stop 'N' Swop. Feel free to contact me if you have any concerns. Just64helpin (talk) 20:21, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The page you made was changed into a redirect to "Banjo-Kazooie (series)". It's probably more helpful to leave it this way, since people are likely to type in "Stop n' Swop" when looking for the subject. Just64helpin (talk) 23:23, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding your recent edit: the information you added to the page is redundant, as it is already stated above. Just64helpin (talk) 00:19, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AFD removal

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Jeremiah Gray Edison Elementary School. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you.

No, the article is still up for deletion and no, I am not in favor of keeping JG-E. Like most elementary schools, it fails WP:NOTABILITY. Also, you do not get to remove the AFD tag--only admins get to do that.

On another note, you'll really want to work on your writing and grammatical skills before you begin to take a more active role in page creation. In the meanwhile, I'd recommend that you just start trolling random pages, looking for unreferenced facts, non-neutral point of view, and so forth. Find an area that interests you--my pet peeve recently has been pages on non-notable schismatic Catholic bishops. Read and learn the Wikipedia guidelines in the welcome template I've posted here. You might be surprised at just how much better you can make Wikipedia by cleaning up what is already there. TallNapoleon (talk) 20:35, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you trying to say that you didn't remove the AFD tag, because the page history clearly shows that you did. TallNapoleon (talk) 22:44, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I see what you mean... So page deletion is a little funny in Wiki. While any user can create a page, not any user can delete a page. Only an admin can do that. That's why we have things like WP:PROD and WP:AFD. So I can't delete the JG-E page; seeing as most people on the AFD page are in favor of deletion it will be deleted by an admin after the AFD runs its course in a couple of days or so. If you are in favor of getting rid of the page, post a comment on the AFD stating that you, as the author of the page, favor its deletion, and it will be closed more quickly. TallNapoleon (talk) 22:47, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The relevant link would be WP:AFD. Since it appears that you are the only person who's really contributed to the page, if you blank the JG-E page yourself that will be taken as a request for speedy deletion, per WP:SPEEDY. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TallNapoleon (talkcontribs) 00:38, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding it in the short views section--I was wondering about that! --JDitto (talk) 21:06, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bishops

[edit]

Well, I'm focusing on these traditionalist bishops because it's an issue that I understand somewhat. Basically, my opinion is that it's good for each individual user to focus on cleaning up particular areas of Wikipedia. You ask whether these bishops are Catholic. In some sense they are, but despite their claims most are not in fact Roman Catholic, because they believe that the current Pope (and indeed all popes for about the past 50 years) to be illegitimate--i.e., not really the Pope. The reason I am deleting them is that, to be honest, most of these bishops are a dime a dozen. They have very small flocks, and very few independent sources about them exist. As such, in my opinion they really don't belong on Wikipedia.

It's good that you're starting to look for material that doesn't belong here, but keep in mind that you cannot delete pages yourself; blanking a page is generally considered vandalism. Read the guidelines on WP:PROD, WP:SPEEDY, and WP:AFD and understand them clearly before you start nominating pages for deletion. Keep in mind that "This is a bad article" is an argument for improving the article, not deleting it. In particular, don't blank other people's talk or user pages; that will get you into trouble really quickly. If you see something there that's really inappropriate, talk to an admin. Speedy deletion of Thranjo-Kazooie

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Thranjo-Kazooie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Closedmouth (talk) 08:20, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is Thranjo-Kazooie anyway? Is it just something you made up? If it is, that's not appropriate for a redirect. Otherwise, just read Help:Redirect for all the details on creating redirects. --Closedmouth (talk) 13:13, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Banjo-Kazooie (series)

[edit]

Regarding your recent edit to the article, please keep in mind that the "See also" section serves as a collection of internal links; The "Internal links" section is redundant, and not an appropriate header. Feel free to contact me if you have any concerns. Just64helpin (talk) 12:46, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Banjo-Kazooie 3

[edit]

Please do not link to "Thranjo-Kazooie". That article no longer exists, and there is nothing to indicate that "Thranjo-Kazooie" will be the title of the game. Just64helpin (talk) 13:07, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify: the link (i.e. redirect) exists, but the entry (i.e. body of text) does not. Thank you for clarifying your intent, but in the future please be aware that redirect links like "Thranjo-Kazooie" should not be linked in another articles. Just64helpin (talk) 13:20, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding your recent changes to the article, please visit Talk:Banjo-Kazooie 3#Nuts & Bolts for a discussion on the matter. Please also keep in mind WP:3RR. Just64helpin (talk) 00:33, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was actually the one who requested the page move, since the title is now based on a formal announcement rather than leaked information. BTW, the correctly-formatted title is Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts with a space after the colon, and an ampersand instead of the word "and". Also, please do not add speculation to the article - the template at the top of page clearly states: "Please do not add speculation to this article, and remember to cite a published source for details." Just64helpin (talk) 23:58, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring about the bit concerning "Conflagration Violent". I reworded it, so it's passable. BTW, Wikipedia is not a repository of external links. The Rare Witch Project is already linked in the "External links" section. You may wish to modify that link to redirect to the image gallery you posted. Just64helpin (talk) 00:11, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just clarifiying that the Mario appearance was only a demonstration as to how the vehicles can be built. The player can build it, but is not obligated to. This is mentioned in the "Vehicles" sub section. Just64helpin (talk) 11:25, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop posting disruptively at Talk:Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. By "disruptively" I mean posting comments in bold, in all-capitals, multiple punctuation points, and the like. Just64helpin (talk) 13:45, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not resize images to massive proportions, and please use the "Show preview" button (located right next to the "Save page" button) to view changes before saving them. Just64helpin (talk) 16:54, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Who exactly are these "lots of people" and where are they complaining? The parameters you set are larger than the actual image sizes. Just64helpin (talk) 00:10, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The image sizes are set within the parameters of the original images, and set to Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not enlarge them again. Just64helpin (talk) 00:16, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why are these "lots of people" not using Talk:Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts to comment on the article? In any case, please do not expand the images beyond the parameters of the actual images. Out of curiosity, is there a reason why haven't you used the preview option? Doing so would prevent the edit history from being cluttered with numerous minor edits. Just64helpin (talk) 00:25, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I assumed the Grunty and Banjo images were the equal in width before. Regarding your recent edits: the infobox image should not exceed 256px, and only the first word in the caption should be capitalized. BTW, the capitalization rule also applies to section headers and article titles -- I figured I'd pass that information along. Just64helpin (talk) 00:47, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, do not increase the logo beyond 256px. Just64helpin (talk) 00:56, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please see Template:Infobox VG#Syntax guide which specifically states not to increase it beyond 256px. Further reverts will be seen as disruptive. Just64helpin (talk) 00:59, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just so we're on the same page (both literally and otherwise) the detail page on Xbox.com mentions Piddles, but doesn't specifically state that Piddles is the new sidekick. Just64helpin (talk) 22:08, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The page says "Familiar faces such as Mumbo Jumbo, Bottles, Captain Blubber, and the Jinjos are also back to lend a hand, along with an equally colorful cast of new friends and foes. Look out for Trophy Thomas, Piddles, Lord of the Games, and Grunty's mechanically menacing army of Gruntbots." This makes it quite vague as to who or what Piddles is. Just64helpin (talk) 22:20, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought I already answered you question. If a statement can't stand on its own without arguing a point, it should not be included. Just64helpin (talk) 21:19, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from article talk

[edit]

Hello there, I've removed your redirect to your own talk page from the Talk:Breegulls page. Article talk pages shouldn't be redirected into userspace! Best wishes, Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 18:48, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image sizes

[edit]

Sorry, but to comply with Wikipedia policy and guidelines regarding image size, the pictures you changed will have to be brought to to a smaller size. Feel free to contact me if you have any concerns. Just64helpin (talk) 22:11, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Remember when I made the post above? Please stop now. Just64helpin (talk) 23:51, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The whole point is present a thumbnail of the larger image. I noticed that the source image (the uploaded file) was way too large to be considered fair use, so reduced it to 250px. Changing the px in the thumbnail to a larger parameter will have no effect now. Just64helpin (talk) 23:58, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling

[edit]

Hi, I notice on your user page you say;

5.Spelling of words by this User's typing

Then at the foot of the page;

I really do not like vandals running a muck around wikipedia.

The spelling is "amuck", which is a word in itself. Happy to help!  :-) --Escape Orbit (Talk) 21:19, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Though in the UK it's generally 'amok'. *shrug* Ged UK (talk) 15:51, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, of course, we would say that we spell everything properly, and everyone else gets it wrong! lol! Yes, amuck is still right, it's a UK spelling too, but much less common over here. Ged UK (talk) 16:03, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove merge tags until a consensus has been reached on the appropriate talk pages. Doing so without a consensus is considered bad etiquette and is generally discouraged. Thanks! 青い(Aoi) (talk) 01:41, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I just realized that the page in question has been deleted. Thank you for removing the tags; it was my fault for not paying attention! 青い(Aoi) (talk) 01:44, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry

[edit]

So if someone were just to use another account that never interacted with their main, people probably would not notice. But typically, a sockpuppet is used in some way to support the main account in arguments; they might have a similar writing style, they might just be too convenient. That's what raises suspicion. Someone then puts in a Checkuser request, which is basically an IP check. If they are the same IPs, then it's a sockpuppet. TallNapoleon (talk) 03:28, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:Sockpuppet#Alternative accounts for legitimate reasons for having an alt. TallNapoleon (talk) 17:52, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: userpage

[edit]

Someone vandalized it. Should be fixed now. Thanks for the heads up. J.delanoygabsadds 13:44, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I get vandalized quite a bit because I fight a lot of vandals. I don't really care, since the vandals just get reverted and get another warning. And if anyone who is not a vandal sees my page, they are like "WTF?" and ask me what is up with my userpage. ;) J.delanoygabsadds 13:53, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've considered getting my userpage protected, but I try not to unless it gets really bad. My reasoning is, since I couldn't care less what they think of me, let them vandalize. They can get it out of their systems: "I may have been blocked, but I sure told him!". Otherwise, they may turn into persistent stalkers, and that is incredibly annoying. Their anger could (read: very remote possibility) also lead to much worse things. I have heard that Hitler started being — himself — primarily because he was rejected from art school. J.delanoygabsadds 14:06, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't mean it like that. (stupid text. no intonation...) I appreciate the suggestion, I just really don't like having my page protected. J.delanoygabsadds 14:11, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake

[edit]

Sorry about accidentally deleting your user and talk pages. A spammer created a new account under your old user name and posted their spam on your user and talk pages after they followed the redirect. I was searching for other pages with the spam links when I came across your pages and deleted them without looking carefully. Sorry about that. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:14, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
