Round 1 Feedback

[edit]

Hi @LycheeJelly1:, I'm glad to see you've gotten started on your article and have added about 1 paragraph of new material. I was hoping that you might come up with more than that, but it looks like you might be struggling to find more information from wp:reliable sources. I suggest calling the UW library or the Redmond parks dept to see if they have any new sources that you might be able to add. I also suggest that you look at other articles about local places to get ideas about what you might include. One idea I had was to mention any historically significant events known to happen at the park. Please don't hesitate to reach out for help or if you have any questions. I'm excited to see how your article develops!

Hello @Groceryheist:, I went on an excursion to the park in a few days ago (within the COVID guidelines allowed) and had some difficulty finding more historical information on the part. My hypothesis is that there may be some information I missed (which I am still looking for), but when looking into the National Registry of Historic Places criteria it noted that there wasn't a necessity for historical events to have occurred at a location. If a given location was old enough, it was automatically qualified for status on the registry, so I misinterpreted the pertinence of the initial reference in the current public page to the historical registry. I did, however, get some photos of the cabins used as offices, and was wondering if you had recommendations to citing photos taken, as there may be bias in using my own material.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hey @LycheeJelly1:, it's too bad you couldn't find much more information. Taking pictures is great though! While citing wp:original research isn't typically allowed, using your photos you have taken is normal! First, you should upload images to the Wikimedia commons, following the guide here. Then, follow this guide to include your images in the article. Groceryheist (talk) 18:12, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @LycheeJelly1:, I really like what you have already developed about Anderson Park. You are using a content-neutral tone and have really cool facts about the park. One thing that I suggest is finding other articles that talk about Anderson Park, not just using the park's website. Secondary sources are a great way to gain new insight into the subject you are talking about. However, it does seem like the source that you are using is up to date and that's a good thing! All of the information that you have provided so far seems to be relevant and can be informational to others. Something that you could possible add is a picture of the park or even a map layout. Looking forward to seeing what else you add! Thekevanator (talk) 23:18, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Thekevanator:, I am currently seeking more information on the park, however it has been difficult locating sources for such a specific location. I went in person, and got two photos of the cabins that I am considering adding. As mentioned above, I misunderstood the meaning of the historical registry, so I'm not sure how much I can add, but hopefully I can find some more relevant content.

Thanks for the feedback!

Round 2 Feedback

[edit]

Greetings @LycheeJelly1:. Thekevanator and Jonathan Kvech have left you helpful and quality peer reviews. I strongly encourage you to carefully read them and think about what changes you can make to continue to improve your article. It may be the case that not much information is available in sources, but you can still work to polish this short article to make it as good as it can possibly be.

Johnathan Kvech suggested providing some background on the namesake of the park, Albert Anderson. This, as well as his other ideas are thoughtful suggestions that might lead you to some new content that you can add. He also pointed to ways you can improve the organization and writing of the article.

I suggest you take a look at my page on polishing your article for ideas for your next round of work on this project. I especially think that doing things like adding wikilinks, "also see" links, categories, and external links are good things to do when polishing an article. I also suggest that you spend some time carefully copyediting the information you've already added to make it as easy to read as possible while maintaining an wp:encyclopedic tone.

Reach out to me when you're ready for more feedback or when you think you're ready to make your changes live by integrating them with the article in the namespace. I'm looking forward to seeing this article when you're done with it. Groceryheist (talk) 00:36, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy everyone!

@Thekevanator:}: I added two original photos I took of the cabins in the park to my sandbox. Thanks for the feedback!

@Jonathan Kvech:: In regards to Albert Anderson, the only substantial reference I could find was from the City of Redmond website. I found a cemetery marker in Redmond for an Albert Anderson who appears to have lived in the timeframe to have contributed to the park developments, however, no biographic information was given, and since Albert and Anderson are both common names I was unable to verify that it was the same Albert Anderson. Thanks for the feedback!

@Groceryheist:: Noted, I'll ping you when the final edits are done!
