List of death metal bands
[edit]Just thought i'd let you know that only bands with wikipedia article's are to go on the list. It keeps things tidy and verifiable so be careful about linking to any bands without article or the edit will be reverted. Thanks --Childzy ¤ Talk 14:58, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh Okay, thanks for letting me know :) im new to this so yeah thanks again, but if i put up the articles about them i can put them on the list? as i know far more bands that arnt on that list and i want them to have recongition. METALFREAK04 15:02, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
yeah of course, thats what its all about! take a look at WP:MUSIC first, the bands have to be notable etc! --Childzy ¤ Talk 15:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Anal Nosorog (Band)
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Anal Nosorog (Band), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Anal Nosorog (Band) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Anal Nosorog (Band), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Reply to messages left on my userpage
[edit]I nominated myself for adminship, but that seems to be pretty frowned upon now. You can read about admins in general here and about becoming an admin here. It is a little early in your Wikipedia career for you to become an admin yet, but should you head down the admin path (involvment in the projhect side of things- policy debates, page deletion, dealing with vandalism, etc) then it can be something to aim for. If you just want to write articles, then being an admin will not help much.
In response to your other points- the prettier things on my userpage are barnstars, which you can read about here, and the 'nominated articles' are good articles, which take a fair bit of work, which you can read about here. Feel free to drop me a line if I can be of any help. J Milburn 15:52, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]I am currently working on the lists of metal bands and I noticed you saying something about not getting some of your pages to not be deleted. I would be willing to help if I saw your pages and I thought they were good enough to be kept. I, too, have created pages for bands and had them almost deleted. I created the article Bestial Warlust, and some pople tried to delete it but it was voted to keep, so I know what that feels like. So, like I said, if you need help with keeping a band page, I would help if I thought it was good enough.Navnløs 18:58, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
No Problem
[edit]Yeah, you had the comment thing right, and I'm glad to help a fellow metalhead. I hear you with the college thing. I'm so addicted to wikipedia, though, that even with all the work I'm getting I still feel the need to get on and make new pages or find pages that need correcting or adding on to.Navnløs 22:12, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Whoa, I saw you contributed to a conversation about the Greek gods, too. Paganism is where it's at. w00t.Navnløs 22:16, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
I never actually saw what it was that you said only that in your contributions it said that you did something on a talk page about greek gods. Yeah I love paganism and the history, too. My favorite is Nordic Paganism (Ásatrú), though. I look forward to working together to make wikipedia more wicked sweet and excellent.Navnløs 17:43, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds good, don't worry about the late reply. Navnløs 17:36, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Yo
[edit]Whatever happened to you? it's been forever since we last talked. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 20:03, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, same here. I have these huge breaks... Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:00, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Of course...all the cool people are on my user page. I'm seriously debating being like you as far as only getting on when I see something wrong and correcting it cuz I'm sick of all this in-fighting on wikipedia. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:38, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
What do you think of this article? I think it is incredibly shitty. I put it up for deletion. If you agree (or disagree by some chance) with my reasoning cast your vote, please. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:48, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit]For when you get back
[edit]I'm not quite sure how the requested articles thingy works, you may have to explain it to me when you get back. I did, indeed see your edits on the death metal list talk page. Look, I think it's pretty clear I'm not Christian. And I understand your edit there as I, too, have gone mental on wikipedia plenty of times. However, man, you got to be careful. You know that kind of stuff isn't appropriate on wikipedia. It's one thing to say something slightly against Christians but you kinda went on a rant and did some bashing. Not a big deal to me, but I don't want you to get blocked from Wikipedia, either. You got to be more careful. I understand how you feel and I want the flagicons, too, but there's more constructive ways to say it. Argue your case, but be careful not to rant because people will just not listen to you and you may get blocked. Just be nice to others on wikipedia, at least directly. I mean, yeah, it may be fun to say those things but in the end it doesn't help. People are gonna think what they want. Just let them be that way. Nothing we say on wikipedia will change anyone. It was pretty funny what you said, though. Just don't do it again, I don't want you to get blocked. Also watch talking in CAPS. People will think you're shouting and may get pissed off. It's not like I'm all for the rules here on wikipedia (I think a lot of them don't work) but if I have to follow the rules at least a little to play ball and try and do some contructive editing, then I guess I will. Y'know what I mean? Anyways, take care. I'm sure you have better things to do than wikipedia anyways, lol, like school. I certainly sacrifice way too much time on here. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 20:38, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- I understand. Lol, nice about the changing IP thing and the untraceable network thing. I couldn't believe they were able to trace me once. It was when they suspected I had a sockpuppet so they looked for an edit (there was only, like, one) that they knew was done by me that would connect me to Navnlos, because they knew the IP address of the other account as well. They already knew it was from American River College, lol. That's pretty amazing. Yeah, wikipedia pisses me off a lot, too. Talk to you later. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Corpsefucking Art, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://home.hetnet.nl/~judas_blackdeath/Bands/corpsefucking_art.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:58, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Corpsefucking Art
[edit]A tag has been placed on Corpsefucking Art requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Help on CorpseFucking Art.
[edit]Ok, I think I may be able to help you. I'm not sure if the band is notable enough, but at some point you (or I) can check WP:BAND and see if it fits any of the critera (and I think it does). But yeah, I think I can help you with the article. It looks like the problem before was a copyright issue. The article may still get deleted again, but we'll see. BTW in the future you could create a sandbox or just a blank page to put things on while you're working on them and just link that page to me instead of putting the whole article on my page, lol. Get back to me as soon as you can so we can discuss what to do. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:31, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- I created User:METALFREAK04/Sandbox for you, hope that's okay. I would reccommend you putting it way up there on the top of your talk page somwhere (like on my page with my little archive box, which I can help you with if you want). You can name it something fancy to with the little "|" key. Like Pwn All Noobs Sandbox or w/e you want. I also put the Corpsefucking Art article in there. Now you can work on it in there before making it into an article. A sandbox is just a page you create that you can work on stuff on. Kinda like another user page that you can play around with and make codes or article on or w/e. Most of the sentences should be in your own words, yeah. If you're gonna quote something you should say (for example), "Additionally, All Music Guide says that Corpsefucking Art is the 'most extreme band ever'" or something and have it referenced. Yeah, we'll need sources and references. But it's also good if you can actually prove the band is notable, in other words, that they are special in some way (awards, tours, well known on the undergroudn scene, etc.). Desert eagles rule. Sounds good but you don't have to post your article here, you can post it on your sandbox now that I;ve nmade it for you =).
RE: Thanks
[edit]No problem, man. Glad to help. We can keep working on it in your sandbox until it's ready to be made an article. I didn't quite understand what you were talking about when you said, "I am trying to make my talk page better, and trying to have the click here thing but it ant working it goes Error: METALFREAK04 is not a username for Wikipedia but i am?" But if you make me understand I'll be glad to help out! Which poems are you talking about, lol? Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:24, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Lmao! Yes, I will help you with your sandbox. I already made a few edits to the article. I look forward to reading those poems when you get them up! As for the "click here" section for wikin00bs, I now understand what you mean. I don't have a template on my talk page but I do have a "click here" thing for the wikin00bs. If you want a template you'll probabaly have to ask around and find one (or make one) or if you're okay with it looking like my talk page's first sentence, then just click on the little + button on the top of your talk page for a new section and copy that link and put it in the little [] things and then put something after it (like on my page here is highlighted as I made that the link). If you still don't understand I can make it for you here.
- Feel free to adjust it as you see fit and ask me if you have any questions. If you want an actual template, though, you'll have to ask around. But if you just want the link like on the top of my page, well then there it is! Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 22:00, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey!
[edit]I wanted to ask you a question, since you're a fan of heavy metal. Me and another user have been having some problems on the Shadows Fall page. I'm not a fan of their music but I noticed that someone had put thrash metal as one of their genres and I immediately changed it to metalcore, as I believe that is the style of music they play. Now the other editor didn't agree with this and we had a little edit war. Well now I want to gather some consensus on it so we can resolve the issue. If you go here you may vote on what genre(s) you think Shadows Fall has played. Thanks. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:45, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Also, if you need any help with anything feel free to let me know. Sorry I haven't gotten much of a chance to work on that article in your sandbox. Just been busy. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:45, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Corpsefucking Art
[edit]A tag has been placed on Corpsefucking Art requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 15:48, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello there, I have deleted your article because it seems that the band don't meet the criteria at WP:BAND. Or at least if they do, you haven't said so and provided references. If I'm wrong I'll happily help you re-create the article, and I see that someone else has been helping you work on a sandbox version. So do please carry on with this and if they meet the criteria then let's by all means r-post this once the article has been re-written. Best wishes, Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 16:02, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]Sorry, I haven't been around. I took a long break due to the assholes on wikipedia and stupidty gripping at many users. Anyways. I was wondering what you thought of something. The New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Do you believe it exists or not? I personally, do not. I think it's the same thing as metalcore which is where is used to redirect. User:Lykantrop sees otherwise and created the article which I am now contemplating deleting. I have made many of my arguements here on the "NWOAHM" talk page and made even more on the talk of metalcore in the section about this "NWOAHM." I think it does not exist for many reasons and per WP:NEO and pure logic it should be deleted. Tell me what you think. If you need to here some of my arguments for why it doesn't exist feel free to ask and I'll deliver a pile of 'em. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 16:55, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
RE:Some help
[edit]I'm fine. Busy. How are you? Unfortunately, I am more or less retired at the moment and have been for a while. Well, more like an undefined hiatus. I could look over your edits I suppose, but you're going to have to be a bit more specific on what you want me to do or look for. Maybe give me a little more information and I'll see what I can do.
