Mantis Bug Tracker revert

[edit]

Hi, you reverted a clarification from the Mantis Bug Tracker entry. Mantidae are predators, hunting bugs. Personally, I think that this is the one thing that could be interesting to know about the name. A bug tracker - has the name of an animal that feeds on bugs. In the way it stands there it is misleading in my understanding. 129.247.247.239 (talk) 07:38, 21 July 2010 (UTC) Furthermore, I would like to add, that your expression "unrelated trivia" about a clarification on the name that is clearly related to the naming of the software is unnecessarily rude. Also, there was a similar revert three reverts down the list by user Haakon who undid it later after he took the time to inspect. 129.247.247.239 (talk) 07:44, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd expect information such as "Species of the Mantidae family are the only insects known today in which binocular stereovision could be verified for the tracking of their prey." to be found on the Mantidae page rather than on the Mantis Bug Tracker page. I do agree with your comment about it being interesting to know that the insect species feed on bugs. However on the topic of tracking prey, I would have thought most species track their prey in one way or another. What makes Mantidae any different in that respect? Anyway, someone has already made a compromise change to simplify the technical details into just a few words. If readers are really interested in the similarities in naming I guess they can always just visit the Mantidae page for detailed technical information. --Michigangold (talk) 03:37, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
