Welcome to Wikipedia
Welcome!
Hello, Micro101, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}}
before the question. Again, welcome!

Lower Elements
I undid your 'merge'. Please read Help:Merging to see how to correctly merge a page. It involves taking the wikiformatted material and copying it into the target page, then editing the material so that it fits well into the target without swamping it, and then redirecting the source page to the target page. This must be noted in the edit summary to comply with Wikipedia's content licensing. Fences&Windows 01:31, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Who's I?
I'll try to redo my merge by using your link, but who's I?
- "I" is the speaker or writer, referred to as the grammatical subject of a sentence. Fences&Windows 17:28, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Hey! Could you tell me what I did wrong during my merge?
Userbox
Hello, Micro101, I noticed you removed a userbox from my userpage. Could you please explain why? Thanks, Ks0stm If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. 23:24, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

For the signature, go to your user preferences and you can insert the Wiki-code (up to 255 characters max.)

Help?
If you think that you can help the user, you can just go ahead and do it yourself :) However, no offense, but you are still rather new and there are a few things you did wrong:
- Your own signature should be something like your username, Micro101. METALMAN isn't really clear on who you actually are.
- Just typing the 4 tildes doesn't help (it just makes your signature without showing how!). Use the tag: :<nowiki>~~~~ (look at the code).
Also, you might just want to direct that user to the Wikipedia:User page design center page. Thanks for helping though, fetchcomms☛ 22:09, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

I just wanted to change it. If you would like to have your name as Mr. Moose, go right ahead. P Carn (talk) 22:29, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Concerned
I am a little concerned. "Hey, Micro 101 here, if you want to start contributing to Wikipedia, start by making your User Page. Making and managing your user page will give you a feel for editing and making new articles. So, don't jump in right away. Talk to User: Fetchcomms for advice for your user page." Could you please refrain from doing that? Firstly, you may want to see WP:NOTMYSPACE. Secondly, you shouldn't offer me up to help others with their userpages—I'm often busy with other items too. "So don't jump in right away" makes it sound like they aren't wanted here. I understand your spirit, but please, try to be a little more careful. You might want to familiarize yourself with actual content editing before working on your userpage much. fetchcomms☛ 23:23, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
- It certainly can't hurt to join a WikiProject, but it is something you have to be committed to. fetchcomms☛ 23:42, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
- Er, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but you might want to familiarize yourself with some editing before offering advice to other new users such as this, this, and this. I'm not trying to say you shouldn't help others, but your advice isn't very... correct in many places. Also it seems like you are following users I have interacted with. That's not incorrect, but I would ask that you please refrain from doing so. I feel bad saying this, but I think you should read our guidelines, start editing some articles, and get used to the community first. Thanks, fetchcomms☛ 23:29, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- I second what Fetchcomms is saying...read the links in the welcome template I put on your page, and find some articles to edit. Your edit count has a horrible proportion, when it should look more like this or this, or preferably, this. And please stop giving me advice about things such as giving out my name. Thanks, Ks0stm If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. 03:00, 23 December 2009 (UTC) P.S., see WP:ADOPT. Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to the page User:Vesiv. Blank pages are malicious to Wikipedia as they often confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate revision. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please use the deletion process for how to proceed. Minimac94 (talk) 20:31, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 13:34, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
If you need help
Hey there, Micro 101. I just noticed you did a small edit change to my talk page, and because your a new user on Wikipedia, you might want some help. You might want to take a look at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page for some help and advice about editing. Vrabu (talk) 20:12, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Re Chuck Norris
I just think that people throw around words like "homophobe" without considering what they really mean. A phobia is an overpowering fear of something. I don't believe he has a fear of homosexuals. I just feel he doesn't agree with the premise of same sex marriage. I can disagree with something without being afraid of it and should be able to express that disagreement without having someone label me with some ridiculous, improperly used term. As for the firearms question....both are fine weapons, but neither would be my first choice for most things. I don't have a favorite per se. I believe different firearms serve different purposes. - Give a diff saying that he didn't want the box there. If he didn't, he could easily have done it himself. As for birds, golden eagle. Where do you think I got the image on my user page from? However, I much prefer jade falcons. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 16:04, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

As Thejadfalcon said, if I didn't want it, I would have removed it myself (instead of just writing it there and not doing anything...) fetchcomms☛ 18:50, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Instead of trial and error, why not just read the guidelines and policies? It only gets ugly because people are frustrated that you sometimes don't seem to have read them. Also, he just forgot to update his counter, and such things are trivial and don't matter. My advice is, go edit articles for a while (like a month). fetchcomms☛ 19:04, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

MiszaBot
I've set the bot to remove any thread older than seven days. I've also moved all the old threads back to prevent the different archive types (this type of coding puts everything into one big lump) from explodinating. MiszaBot will take until tomorrow to get around to you. Let me know if you want me to alter the amount of days or if you want me to have MiszaBot put threads into a month-by-month archive. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 20:49, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

The article Rictus has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- It's a dictionary definition of one (specialised) meaning of rictus. I can't see that it could be made the basis of an encyclopaedia article.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. pablohablo. 11:24, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I know that the times you posted are right, the problem is that the column {U.S. Goals (Goal #)} shows how many goals the player or players have scored with the national team and not the times when the goals were scored during that match. Regards --Bocafan76 (talk) 03:09, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Brittle asthma, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://fnsg.awardspace.com/brittle.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:24, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Brittle asthma. Hello and welcome
Hello. I don't quite remember how you wound up on my watchlist, but you seem to be very enthusiastic. I see that you've edited a couple of flora/fauna articles. I also see that around 80% of your edits are to talk pages, etc. Project Gastropods could really use somebody like you. There are plenty of lovely animals that need articles, and plenty of articles that need to be expanded. Here are some examples of beautiful pictures with no articles. If you are interested, please join up. I will help you get started if you want. All the best to you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:06, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:50, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Produce, produce, produce
Hi Micro. Well, that looks like a good start to the nudibranch article. Well done. Please continue. Ensure that the citation leads to the actual page where the info is from and not just to the home page of the site.
Again, just a reminder, please try to build articles. Last session you made 34 edits, with only 10 to articles, one of which was reverted as vandalism. [3] Give barnstars very sparingly, only when well deserved. A bit of friendly humour etc. is fine, as it makes Wikipedia a more enjoyable place to work. But this is not Facebook. The vast, vast, vast majority of what you should be doing here is "work", not designing your user page and giving out cookies.
I suggest that you stay away from catching sockpuppets, rating articles, reverting edits, etc. until you are sure of what you are doing. Watch what others do and learn before you get into that stuff. For now, produce, produce, produce. The nudibranchs await! Good luck. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:37, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- I wholly agree with Anna. Also, I have replied on my talk page. fetchcomms☛ 01:39, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 23:00, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

A new section
Now you can start a new section on your user page: "Articles Started". That way you can keep track of them. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:25, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Another article in the mainspace! Good job. You are becoming a real Wikipedian. A couple of pointers: I suggest you give your stuff a good proofread. In Section titles, the first letter of the first word is capitalized, but not the others, unless it's a proper noun. If you pick a new gastropod to start, Google it and check for a common name. Then search that common name on Wiki to be sure you aren't starting an article that already exists. (actually not necessary with this stuff)
Let me know if you are enjoying making these gastropod articles. There are more you can do. Just ask if you get stuck. I will keep an eye on your sandboxes and do your taxoboxes until you get the hang of them.
Congratulations. I believe you are now entitled to display this spanking medal, by pasting this to your user page: {{SA-novice}}

More gastropods
These have been checked out and are ready to be made into articles:

More nudibranchs
Good job on the last one. How about one of these next?

- Thanks for your note. I will help if I can, although right now I am busy most of the time with a couple of other tasks. By the way, I apologize for not leaving a note when I added some info to the previous article on your subpage, I hope that did not confuse you. Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 15:14, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Constructive edits
I don't mean to stalk you. I'm just trying to help you and the project. If edits are unconstructive then somebody needs to spend time undoing them.
Maps are okay. You don't need to remove them.[4] If you make a link just to Elwood, it will go to a disambiguation page. Better is to make the link to Elwood, Indiana.[5] Cheers, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:26, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
