Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Michael McNally (Mike). Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 11:49, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I admit I wrote a short bit about myself on Mike McNally 8-8-1980. (Today) But on checking this was already on wikipedia from an earlier time which I did not write myself. I understand if you delete the submission I made today 6am GMT. Containing my full name Michael Patrick Kevin Anthony McNally. But this one concerned was already on the site from an earlier time I only realised AFTER I had posted the submission today. There is a need to delete one of the two submissions but not the first one. It feels like because I have written one submission I am being punished by removing another one that had already been approved by wikipedia. The fact is it is notable. A film actor is usually only notable for being in films even if only one film. There is no need to waffle on about my life history. It is notable for winning a $100 million competition and a football tournament. Thats two things. I don't need to change the one that was already there as it had already been approved.

First things first - I am not an administrator and can't delete any pages. All I did was to initiate a deletion discussion, which will probably go on for a week; then an admin will look at the discussion and determine what the consensus is, based on Wikipedia's policies. Second, where is the earlier article about you? The one I've seen, and which I nominated for deletion, is Michael McNally (Mike), the article you created today. (When you created it you used a different title, Mike McNally 8-8-1980, but another editor moved it to the current title). I am not aware of any other articles, and no other article has been nominated for deletion.
Wikipedia can be rather a jungle of policies and principles, and it can be hard to keep track of them all. If you have questions, you might want to check the tea house, a resource for new editors, where friendly experienced editors answer all kinds of questions about editing. The only one I created was the Mike McNally BSc not the one in question. There are two different articles. Perhaps it had been referred to be deleted because it was a duplicate not because of the content. I have no further interest in Bona Deas aspersions or confusion. Other things to do.
