Please don't deface my userpage

[edit]

I don't know why you thought there'd be any other user accusing me of that. "Anonymous" isn't a very good cover with clear context of a conversation. If you'd like to leave a message for me in the future, please use my talk page, not my user page. I honestly won't care what the content is. And pretty-please don't insult my intelligence by claiming it wasn't you. i kan reed (talk) 17:53, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I must make such a claim, despite knowing what you're talking about. Although I have a fairly good guess as to who did it, I doubt they even have a Wikipedia account. It was pointed out to me by the likely perpetrator afterwards. Suffice to say that discussing the matter with other interested editors, some of whom had much better ideas of available sources for the subject matter, in a public channel away from Wikipedia was perhaps unwise, due to those who may overhear and do their own thing. Needless to say, I didn't SUGGEST it or any such lameness. You probably don't believe this, and the best evidence I can offer in favour is that my IP is located in the United Kingdom, not the US, which is admittedly weak. But I must attempt to set the story straight nevertheless. Namegduf Live (talk) 18:23, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, fine, I wasn't going through any official channels, and if you insist it was not you, I'm going to accept that. I'll lay out the evidence that led me to believe that it was you and be gone: 1. IP address was active in the same time frame as you. 2. I have had no active disputes with any other editors in the past couple of years on wikipedia. 3. The accusation of pedanticism is in line with the arguments you were making on talk:erfworld, which I've had no other user suggest to me in other disputes. I was naturally assuming that any user who'd log out to deface my user-page would use a proxy, so the geolocation of the IP didn't really factor into my conclusions. Just know that if you have any issues with my editing process, my talk page is uncensored with regard to claims against me, my user page is not. i kan reed (talk) 18:39, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
