Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Blue Movie, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Viva (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:58, 1 June 2014 (UTC) |

Toy Story 3 edit
[edit]Not sure why you performed this edit, but hating something is not proper reasoning for removal; the table breaks without the template, and a compact list if better for readability. Also saying that one "will be blocked from editing If you revert me" in the edit summary when that isn't true is not appropriate for a collaborative encyclopedia. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 14:31, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
National varieties of English
[edit]In a recent edit to the page Zoolander, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.
For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. SummerPhD (talk) 14:45, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

In addition to several warnings you've received for vandalism, I see that you have been making some clearly incorrect changes to film grosses.[1][2][3] These changes are most likely vandalism. If you make deliberately false changes to articles again, you will be blocked from editing without further warning. - SummerPhD (talk) 15:03, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Don't edit other's comments
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at on my talk page is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Thank you. Edit summary
[edit]NiamhBurns10, would you please stop using "not vandalizing" as an edit summary? If you have to actually tell people you're not vandalizing in an edit summary, the edit likely requires some sort of additional explanation in the form of a more specific edit summary. It would be helpful if you explained what you are doing in the edit (e.g. correcting a typo) as opposed to what you are not doing (i.e. vandalizing). --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 16:19, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
- That's nonsense, you are going to be blocked from editing. ~NiamhBurns10 Talk Contribs 21:01, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
- If that is your response to a valid concern regarding your edits, well...good luck with the whole "collaborative editing" requirement. Do you intend to report me at WP:AIV? Or should I fall on my own sword? --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 20:09, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

- Not today, alas. If, however, you would like to avoid having other editors leave messages on your page pointing out your errors it would be helpful if you stopped blanking content without any viable reason for doing so, stop editing other people's comments on their talk pages and leave edit summaries that are actually summaries of your edits as advised at Help:Edit summary. I assume that you'll have some sort of nonsensical response about how I will be blocked for advising you that your edits have been disruptive; if my assumptions are borne out please don't expect any further replies from me.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 21:12, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
- Your edit summaries should describe what you are doing. This summary indicates you are making a change related to national varieties of English. You were actually adding an actor's name to a film. Why did you choose this edit summary? - SummerPhD (talk) 17:14, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

- @Denimadept: I'm with Niamh in this case. When you list 2:12, it's not clear from first glance whether that means 2 hours and 12 minutes, or 2 minutes and 12 seconds (MOS:TIME#cite_ref-13). Editing others' userpage
[edit]Extended content

Hi Niamh - may I recommend that you stop editing other users' userpages? Doing so without good reason is generally frowned upon, including creating other users' userpages, even with just Template:userpage mini. Edits such as this where you restore what the user has also removed in the past are also not appropriate. Not everyone needs a userpage, and it's up to them how they manage it (to an extent). Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 17:13, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user page may not be appropriate to be indexed by external search engines as presently written. Typically, this could be because it appears promotional, or contains material in development or archived that doesn't yet meet policies and guidelines. I have tagged this page as If you believe that your userpage does not violate our guidelines, please leave a note here and we can discuss it. As an alternative, you may add {{db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, you can change the page so that it more clearly meets Wikipedia guidelines, or you can edit it as normal and ignore the tag completely (it will not affect editing). However, please do not remove the tag without discussion. Thank you. Jackmcbarn (talk) 15:16, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Users may remove warnings from their user pages
[edit]Don't try to re-add a warning, which a user has removed from his talk page. Your actions could be interpreted as harassment and lead to you being blocked from editing. Favonian (talk) 16:57, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
Regarding your talk page and user page
[edit]I think the reason why Jackmcbarn has been adding the "noindex" to your pages is because they both clearly violate the Wikipedia guideline WP:NOTWEBHOST. The fact that you are advertising your Twitter and YouTube pages on Wikipedia is a clear violation of Wikipedia guidelines. The "noindex" makes it so search engines cannot "find" this page when doing search. I would honestly recommend that you leave the "noindex" intact; otherwise, you may see your user pages end up on WP:MFD. (Seriously, I would highly recommend removing your links to other external sites from your user pages before it becomes a bigger issue. Also, good luck with that "1-year block" thing; the worst I could see happening to Jack is a couple-day block for edit warring.) Steel1943 (talk) 17:02, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Please join the discussion at WP:ANI
[edit]There is a discussion about your edits at ANI. I notice you've been informed of it but I'd like to invite you to comment there. If you don't, a decision is likely to be made without your input. Given the problems raised in the discussion and the direction its heading, that decision is not likely to be favorable to you. It looks (at a glance) like you're making productive contributions to the encyclopedia but editors have questions about your frankly bizarre interactions with your peers. If you could give us some context for your actions or provide some indication that you're aware of the complaints that would be great. If you don't feel like interacting on ANI (which I understand, as it can be contentious, especially when you're the subject), you can talk with me here or on my talk page. Thanks. Protonk (talk) 15:53, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- So this is your reply to my request? Protonk (talk) 16:57, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Blocked indefinitely
[edit]I've blocked this account for problematic and inappropriate interactions with other editors. While your contributions to the encyclopedia seem fine, a large part of being a member of our community is interacting with other editors or at the very least not making their lives worse. You have been warned about your actions on multiple occasions; editors have come to your aid to help you (myself most recently) and your primary response has been to post inexplicable comments (e.g. this) or mystifying attempts to close discussions (see here). Your motivation for these actions is largely immaterial. Their effect is to make interacting with you a chore, especially since you seem to refuse to acknowledge that some of the complaints have merit.
You're free to contest this block using the {{Unblock}} template or you can discuss it with me or other editors on this talk page. Protonk (talk) 18:51, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

- As Protonk is an administrator on Wikipedia, they've got the extra buttons that can block you from editing here. If you wish to be able to continue contributing you should consider some self-reflection and post an GAB consistent unblock request using the template Protonk linked. Note that misuse of the template to attack others, avoid self responsibility and be generally be disruptive will result in your talk page and email access being revoked at which point your only recourse will be UTRS or BAC.
