[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please do not edit-war over the terminology used to refer to Macedonia. Wikipedia editors have developed a binding consensus guideline on how to refer to the country, outlined at WP:NCMAC. This is based on the policy of using the most common name generally used in English to refer a country, and/or the name that a country chooses to use for itself, no matter if these names are politically acceptable to third parties (see the naming-conflict guideline). The Arbitration Committee has decided that all edits affecting the Macedonia naming issue are subject to a one-revert restriction: no editor is allowed to undo another editor's action more than once within 24 hours. In cases covered by the binding guideline, editors restoring the consensus version are not subject to this restriction.

Thanks! ~~~~

Contributions to Giannitsa

[edit]

Dear Nikostrd, Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for your contributions to Giannitsa.

I have edited your contributions to the "Entertainment" and "Loudias river" sections in order to improve the English and remove what we call on Wikipedia "original research". Original research is things that you may know from personal experience, but for which there is not a WP:Reliable source, especially things that are matters of opinion (cf. WP:NPOV).

Here are some examples of problems:

  • The focus of the social life of the city is undoubtedly the pedestrian of Giannitsa.

A "pedestrian" is a person (πεζός). "Undoubtedly" is an expression of opinion.

  • Here and in closely adjacent city lives daily rhythms, and collects the bulk of visitors and those who generally want to eat, dine or simply enjoy a coffee or a drink.

"Here and in closely adjacent city lives daily rhythms" -- this isn't English

I am not certain I understand what you mean here, but I think it's something like "Many people go to the pedestrian zone to eat or drink." What else?

  • In the evenings the dynamics of the space increases from several youth hangouts.

What does "dynamics of the space increases" mean? What does "several youth hangouts" mean? My guess is that this means that the pedestrian zone attracts youths in the evenings. Anything else?

  • we reach the river Loudias and facilities sailing center, which is an important task sports and tourism infrastructure

"facilities sailing center" and "task sports" are not English. What do you mean?

  • At "0" is located where the City Rowing Club operates the Naval Giannitson in sport of Canoe - Kayak and Rowing.

What is "0"? What does "Naval Giannitson" mean?

I think what this paragraph is saying is that there are sailing, rowing, canoeing, and kayaking facilities on the Loudias River. If this is not what it means, what does it mean?

Please let me help you improve your contribution rather than systematically replacing my corrections with your text! --Macrakis (talk) 18:46, 27 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please make sure that you do not use the term "FYROM" again in any article. It would be a good idea if you read carefully WP:NCMAC, the naming convention which applies in this case, and covers the naming rules for all Macedonia-related articles. You should also read WP:ARBMAC2 the arbitration decision covering this area. Thank you. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 09:02, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In a 2007 arbitration case, administrators were given the power to impose discretionary sanctions on any user editing Balkans-related articles in a disruptive way. If you engage in further inappropriate behaviour in this area, you may be placed under sanctions including blocks, a revert limitation or an article/topic ban. Thank you. ELs in Giannitsa

[edit]

Thanks again for your work on Giannitsa. You have re-added some external links to the article that I had deleted as being contrary to Wikipedia policy on external links. It seems to me that that policy indicates that those links are not appropriate for Wikipedia. --Macrakis (talk) 17:57, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Stop adding images that you have not created yourself. I found several images you posted onto the Wikimedia Commons on other websites long before you ever uploaded them to Wikipedia, and you also uploaded several images that had watermarks from other websites, and images containing information copyrighted to other parties, like the Power Rangers files. In addition, you have been unnecessarily ading the Macedonian flag to infoboxes. This is a violation of WP:INFOBOXFLAG.—Ryulong (琉竜) 14:41, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. —Ryulong (琉竜) 20:42, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blanks space

[edit]

Hi Nikostrd, can you please rearrange the images in the article Giannitsa to reduce the blank space. That will ease the reading. Thanks. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 08:51, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
