Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of FreeNOS, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://freecode.com/projects/freenos.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. I'm very sorry, but your rewrite is still very similar to the original. For example, I've taken the first couple of sentences from the source and the corresponding text for the article and highlighted the exact duplication.
Source Article
FreeNOS is an experimental microkernel operating system for learning purposes. The system is very experimental, yet it currently supports virtual memory, simple task scheduling, and interprocess communication (IPC) FreeNOS or Free Niek's Operating System is a microkernel-based Operating system written for learning purposes.[3] The system is very experimental, yet FreeNOS currently supports: Virtual memory ,Simple task scheduling ,Inter Process Communication (IPC)
This highlighting may make the problem more obvious. The new version uses all of the words from the original except two - "experimental" and "it". It uses them in the same order with just a few additions and some superficial changes. While facts are not copyrightable, creative elements of presentation – including both structure and language – are. Content on Wikipedia that is based on copyrighted sources must in almost all cases be put into your own words and structure, except for limited explicit quotation used for valid "fair use" reasons. Please see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing for some ideas about how to write content to avoid this issue.
I wish I could help you rewrite the material, but I have limited ability to do so with so little information there and without more understanding myself of what FreeNOS is. For a layman, I'm afraid the article is not very informative as it is. Perhaps if you tried writing it as if explaining it yourself to non-technical people, that would help address the problem. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:02, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
